International winger Clifford Mulenga has joined FAZ Super Division champions Zesco United.
Mulenga,28, has been un-attached since leaving South African club Ajax Cape Town last May following the expiry of his one year contract.
He was introduced to his Zesco team mates on Tuesday morning at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
“I would like to confirm that Zesco United have signed 2007 African Young Player of the Year Clifford Mulenga,” Zesco media officer Katebe Chengo said.
Chengo could not reveal the contract duration.
“He was signed as a free agent after he was released by Ajax Cape Town of South Africa.
He was formally introduced to his team mates this morning at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium,”she said.
Mulenga was groomed by Chiparamba Academy before he joined Pretoria University FC in 2004.
He has played for Örgryte IS of Sweden, South Africa’s Bidvest Wits,Thanda Royal Zulu,Mpumalanga Black Aces,Bloemfontein Celtic and SuperSport United.
Meanwhile, Mulenga last featured for Chipolopolo at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
