A woman believed to have been murdered by her husband “had a way of making everybody she came into contact with feel loved”, her family has said.
Deborah Ruse, 39, was found at her home in Long Melford, Suffolk, in November, hours after her husband was found dead.
Her family said she recently moved out of the family home after separating from Oliver Ruse, who was 37.
“She was a passionate Christian, generous and a kind soul,” her family said in a statement.
Mr Ruse was found at multi-storey car park in Bury St Edmunds on 13 November. An inquest heard how an axe stained with Mrs Ruse’s blood and with Mr Ruse’s DNA on the handle was found in a Land Rover in the car park.
Police are treating their deaths as a suspected murder and suicide.
Mrs Ruse was brought up in Zambia, where she was “fondly known as Sheke”, before pursuing a law degree at Buckingham University, her family said.
She met Mr Ruse while they were both working in a London branch of Gap and they married in Zambia in 1998.
The couple had four daughters, aged between eight and 16, but had separated shortly before their deaths and were involved in an acrimonious dispute about where their children should live.
Earlier in the week, an inquest in Ipswich heard how Mr Ruse, who ran a butcher’s in Long Melford, had told his sister “the only way out was to kill Deborah”.
Mrs Ruse’s family said: “May her soul rest in eternal peace.”
Honour Janza has put four call-ups on special training as Zambia’s 2015 Africa Cup preparations at the nine-day local camp in Lusaka shift gear.
One of the players on the special training programme is defender Bronson Chama of Red Arrows.
Chama is a late call-up after replacing Zesco United defender Nyambe Mulenga who has been ruled out after fracturing his leg in a car accident last Sunday on his way to joining camp.
The Arrows defender only returned to action in November after missing most of the 2014 season with a right knee ligament injury.
“We have a couple of guys who are not fully fit like Chama, Jimmy Chisenga, Christopher Munthali and Festus Mbewe. They have been given special training so that they can regain their fitness,” Zambia team physio Gibson Chabola said.
The 24-man home-based team entered camp on December 14 that will run until December 22.
Twelve domestic players will then be picked from the ongoing camp to join 14 foreign drafts who will go into camp in Johannesburg on December 26.
PF members on the Copperbelt have called for the immediate impeachment of Acting President, Guy Scott, for requesting that the filing in of nominations for PF Presidential candidate be postponed in view of pending court cases.
The PF members demanded for further disciplinary action on Dr Scott whom they accused of being a danger to the party.
Scores of PF members, led by PF Copperbelt Provincial Chairperson, Nathan Chanda and Provincial Women’s Chairperson, Hilda Kawesha, today gathered at Kitwe City Square and denounced Dr Scott who they said betrayed late President, Michael Sata, and the PF party.
And speaking on behalf of other members, Mr Chanda said it was clear from his conduct that Dr Scott‘s agenda is to destroy the PF.
Mr Chanda accused Dr Scott of having spearheaded the formation of a new political party with a view of joining it after destroying PF.
He, however, said the PF on the Copperbelt will not be intimidated by Dr Scott’s manoeuvres because they are ready to die for the PF.
Mr Chanda called on well-meaning PF members to rally behind Edgar Lungu, who was making progressive statements aimed at improving the general welfare of the citizens once elected head of state.
And Mrs Kawesha called for unity of purpose among the PF members against Dr Scott’s treacherous acts.
On Monday, this week, Acting President, Guy Scott, requested the Acting Chief Justice Lombe ChibesaKunda to defer filing in of nominations for the PF candidate in view of the pending court case.
The filing in of nominations for presidential aspiring candidates in the January 20 presidential election has kick-started in Lusaka at the Supreme Court.
The nomination exercise has, however, taken a new twist as five cadres from the opposition Green Party have been arrested for alleged electoral mal-practices.
Alert state police and Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) officers nabbed three female and two males in their attempt to declare and verify their documents. The five were bundled in a police van heading to a named police holding cell.
A senior police officer at the scene, who spoke on condition of anonymity, identified two of the culprits as Elizabeth Sakala and the other as Mercy Tembo on grounds of particulars differing on their green national registration and voters’ cards.
“Tembo, Sakala and three other culprits are being held in police custody and they will appear in court soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Green Party leader, Peter Sinkamba, has not managed to file in his nomination because he has allegedly failed to raise 200 supporters required by the ECZ.
By press time, Mr Sinkamba, the campaigner for the legalisation of marijuana, who thinks psychotropic substance is the best way to go if the country is to generate more income, only had 170 sympathisers and was still ‘struggling’ to raise 30 more.
In a separate interview, ECZ Spokesperson, Cris Akufuna, said the opposition leader has got four extra days in which to raise the 30 supporters to file his nomination.
Mr Akufuna said it was clear that Mr Sinkamba has failed to bring 200 supporters today but he still has got four more days up to December 23, next week or be countered out of the presidential race.
Meanwhile, opposition Forum for Democratic Alternatives (FDA) party president, Ludwig Sondashi, has successfully filed in his presidential nomination papers and declared himself ready to lead the Zambian people.
The former Cabinet Minister and inventor of herbal drug – Sondashi HIV/AIDS Formula (SF-2000) claimed that he has a clean record of 35 years corruption free as a public officer, saying he would reduce the presidential powers if elected president on January 20, 2015.
According to a tentative programme from the ECZ obtained by ZANIS, the filing in of presidential nominations was on-going and ends next week on December 23.
People’s Redemption Party president, Gerry Sikazwe, has withdrawn his candidature for the January 20, 2015 Presidential elections and has rallied his support for Patriotic Front Presidential candidate, Edgar Lungu.
Mr Sikazwe was expected to file in his nomination papers between 14:30 and 17:30 hrs today before Acting Chief Justice, Lombe Chibesakunda, at the Supreme Court ahead of the forthcoming Presidential elections.
He informed the Acting Chief Justice that he opted out of the Presidential race following discussions his party held with the PF where it was agreed that PRP supports the candidature of Mr Lungu for the January 20 elections.
The PRP leader said it became pertinent for him to withdraw from the race after discovering during the meeting that both parties pursue the same endeavours and have similar official position on governance issues.
Mr Sikazwe also parried assertions that his withdrawal from the Presidential elections was necessitated by a cabinet position he has been offered in the PF government, saying no such thing was ever a topic of discussion.
He further stated that the fact that he is supporting the PF and its Presidential candidate for the forthcoming elections does not mean that that is the end of his party.
Mr Sikazwe said he is not joining the PF but merely withdrawing his candidature to support the PF.
He also stated that the perceived wrangles and confusion in the ruling party only exist in the minds of people who are enemies of the party.
He also stated that he can only agree to serve in the PF government when Mr Lungu wins the forthcoming Presidential elections depending on the position he is offered.
And Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda thanked Mr Sikazwe for his intentions to seek to serve the people of Zambia as President, saying this was his democratic right.
Justice Chibesakunda said Mr Sikazwe’s expression of interest to run for the highest office in the land was noble, his democratic right and a courageous act.
The Acting Chief Justice encouraged the PRP leader to continue exercising his God-given rights which every Zambian is entitled to.
Earlier, filing of nomination papers for the January 20, 2015 Presidential elections got underway with Forum for Democratic Alternative president, Ludwig Sondashi, being the first aspirant to file in his nomination papers before Justice Chibesakunda at the Supreme Court.
The second presidential candidate expected to file in his nomination papers was Green Party leader Peter Sikamba who, by press time, was still struggling to raise 200 supporters as per requirement.
The ‘Anointing’ true description behind the power of God on Miracles by Fire Praise teams debut album. This album does not only please you sensually but also ministers to ones soul through the lyrics and word of God that every song is founded on. Government says it is ready to evacuate for specialist treatment national team players who got injured in a road traffic accident on Sunday.
Minister of Youth and Sport Chishimba Kambwili said the state is concerned with the state of the injured players and will ensure that they receive the best medical services.
He said government wants the players to receive the best medical treatment so that they can return to the pitch in perfect condition to ply their trade.
Kambwili said this when he visited Lusaka Trust Hospital where Nyambe Mulenga and ZESCO united club staff are admitted and the University Teaching Hospital where Changwe Kalale is being treated.
The three were injured when a Toyota Hiace minibus they were travelling in collided with an oncoming Toyota Prado on the Great North Road in Lusaka on Sunday.
Kambwili said government will give full support and will work closely with ZESCO united so as to meet any requirements needed during the recovery of the players.
He encouraged the players not to lose hope but embrace a positive attitude believing that they will play football again.
The Minister also appealed to the players’ families to notify government of any assistance they need to be rendered.
Meanwhile, Defender Nyambe Mulenga said he is recovering well and expressed gratitude to government for its support.
He said the visit of acting president Guy Scott and Sports Minister has motivated and given him hope for the future.
And father to Kalale, Bernard Kalale expressed confidence that his son who turned 17 years today will fully recover and return on the pitch again.

The Cabinet has moved to pass a vote of no confidence in Acting President Dr Guy Scott and have with immediate effect asked him to resign his position.
Reading a signed statement on behalf of all Ministers gathered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Harry Kalaba flanked by other key Cabinet Ministers said that the actions of Dr. Guy Scott are now a threat to National Security and they have since informed the Central Committee of the PF on their decision.
The cabinet has since directed the Secretary to Cabinet working together with the Attorney General to ensure that an urgent Cabinet Meeting is immediately convened with the agenda to discuss the possibility of replacing Dr. Scott as Acting President.
Below is the full statement
17TH DECEMBER 2014
SUBJECT; AN EXPRESSION OF VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN DR. GUY SCOTT AND PROPOSED REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF ACTING PRESIDENT
We have called this Media Briefing to make profound pronouncements to the nation.
Following the death of our beloved President, His Excellency Mr. Michael Chilufya Sata, the subsequent transition has been led by Dr. Guy Scott, in a dangerous and haphazard manner without due regard to the peace, security, unity and stability that this country is renowned for.
We have noted with deep concern that since Dr. Guy Scott assumed the office of Acting President, he has carried out his duties without regard to the law, to the principles of collective responsibility, and without consultation with his Cabinet colleagues as is expected in such a transition.
He has taken numerous actions that endanger the peace, unity and security of the country. Dr, Scott has persistently taken advice from known private individuals disregarding established institutions and bodies such as Cabinet.
With hindsight, it has become apparently clear that it is for good reason that President Michael Chilufya Sata never gave Dr. Scott an opportunity to act as President.
Because of the above-mentioned matters, the Ministers unreservedly take responsibility and tender their strong apologies to the Nation for selecting and affirming that Dr. Guy Scott should act as President on its Cabinet Meeting held on 29th October 2014.
Clearly the confidence and trust we reposed in Dr. Scott was totally misplaced and he has since abused our trust and confidence repeatedly.
And as Cabinet we have noted that Dr. Scott has persistently worked against the interest of the party that sponsored him as a Member of Parliament and allows him to be Vice-President of the country and subsequently as Acting President.
Dr. Scott’s actions have clearly been inimical to the interests of the nation. His actions have the potential to stoke instability in a nation that has been anchored on peace and profound human fellowship.
We urge Dr. Scott to immediately resign from his position as Acting Republican President on moral grounds.
As Cabinet Ministers, we have decided to express a clear Vote of No Confidence in his leadership and in his ability to carry out the remaining duration of the transition.
By virtue of this statement, the Ministers are informing the Central Committee of the Patriotic Front of the Vote of No Confidence against Dr. Guy Scott and are advised to take notice of our decision.
Further, we direct the Secretary to Cabinet working together with the Attorney General to ensure that an urgent Cabinet Meeting is immediately convened with the agenda to discuss the possibility of replacing Dr. Scott as Acting President.

While the ruling PF continues to busy itself with party rather than state business, and its own members rather than the people, Zambians across the country continue to suffer from a lack of leadership and even basic governance.
Yesterday we heard reports of farmers in Chinsali gathered to demand payment from the PF government. This follows multiple protests across the country in the past weeks on precisely this same issue.
[pullquote]how is no-one getting paid when government borrowing under your watch has sky-rocketed[/pullquote]
Meanwhile Lusaka City Council workers stopped working yesterday after finally tiring of not being paid their salaries.
The government needs to speak to the Zambian people and explain the following.
Firstly, how is no-one getting paid when government borrowing under your watch has sky-rocketed? Secondly, how can you fail to pay these people what they are rightfully owed even when the cost of living is rising so high?
Richard Kapita

A 34 Year old man of Sungwe village in Chief Ishewambuto in Mongu district of Western Province has been accidentally scooped by an excavator loader belonging to AVIC International company constructing the Mongu –Kalabo road.
This happened in the early hours of this morning after the man identified as Nyambe Mutalifelile while drunk decided to rest and went into deep sleep on top of one of the heaps of sand meant for Mongu Kalabo road construction across the Zambezi River.
Western Province Commissioner of Police Lombe Kamukoshi told ZANIS that a Nyambe was in a drunken mood when he slept on a heap of sand in question and was accidentally scooped by the loader which was operated by a Chinese National identified as Fan Sheng aged 42.
Ms. Kamukoshi further noted that the operator only realised that he had hooked a man on the pan of the machine upon seeing the hand swinging half buried in the soil.
She narrated that the victim sustained a serious swollen chest, bruises, general body pains and was rushed to Lewanika General Hospital where he received medical attention.
Lewanika General Hospital Acting Medical Superintendent Likambi Kambinda confirmed having received the patient around 01:20 but regretted that the victim ran away from the admission ward.
PARLIAMENT yesterday heard that investigations into the cause of the two Zambia Air Force (ZAF) aircraft accidents in Livingstone and Lusaka have continued.
Defence minister Edgar Lungu early in the year quashed a preliminary report on the cause of the ZAF plane crashes submitted by the board of inquiry he appointed for lack of detail.
The place accidents involved ZAF deputy commander, Major General Muliokela Muliokela with his co-pilot, Colonel Brian Mweene, who died when their SAAB MFI-15 crashed during a routine training exercise in Lusaka West in May this year.
Three other ZAF pilots died in separate crashes, two in January this year after their FA 528 SAB aircraft crashed in Livingstone and another in March last year at the Lusaka City airport.
This prompted the government to appoint a board of inquiry to investigate and ascertain the causes of the plane crashes.
Defence deputy minister Joseph Lungu yesterday told Parliament that the board of inquiry constituted by Government to investigate the ZAF plane crashes had continued.
Colonel Lungu was responding to a query by Lumezi MMD MP Isaac Banda who wanted to know whether investigations into the two accidents had been undertaken.
The board of inquiry had been constituted but the proceedings of the board were yet to be concluded.
He said once the investigations were completed, the findings and the recommendations would be handed over to the President, who was the Commander in Chief of the armed forces.
And the House has heard that many Zambian doctors who left the country in search of greener pastures abroad have returned.
Deputy minister of Health Chitalu Mulenga said Government had improved conditions of service for doctors and most of them were now trooping back home.
Government had also continued to increase output of doctors in the country and set up a new medical school for doctors in Ndola to increase the number of trained doctors in the country.
He was responding to a question for oral answer from Mwandi MMD MP Michael Kaingu who wanted to find out whether Government was aware that Mwandi hospital had no medical doctor.
Meanwhile Government has regretted the eviction of more than 200 settlers in the Lukusudzi national park.
The families were evicted by Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) workers last week.
Tourism minister Jean Kapata said it was unfortunate that the families had been left in the cold but the office of the vice president disaster management unit had moved in to assist the families.
It was sad that the families had continued to resist resettlement because of the desire to continue mining gemstones and poaching in the game park even after continued reminders for them to vacate the park since 2010.
Most opposition MPs condemned the eviction of the families during the rain season saying the families would lose both property and their crops but Ms Kapata said Government wanted to prevent human-animal conflict hence its move to relocate the families.
