When we make mistakes in life, there are three main things that we need to do. Number one, ask for forgiveness. Number two, receive God’s mercy. And number three, move forward with your life. Let it go and press ahead.

So many people today are still beating themselves down over something they did five years ago. They’ve asked God to forgive them a thousand times, but can’t let it go. They go around living depressed, defeated and feeling unworthy. If that’s you, realize today the price has already been paid. The first time you asked God to forgive you, He forgave you. Now you’ve got to receive God’s mercy and press ahead. That mistake did not change who you are to God. My children have never once gotten up in the morning as an Osteen and then done something wrong and gone to bed that night with a different last name. No matter what they did, they’re still my children.

You may have made mistakes today, but because of the blood of Jesus, you are still your Father’s child. You are still the apple of God’s eye. You are still His most prized possession. God may not be pleased with every action, but He is pleased when you receive His forgiveness by faith!

BRE to work with government of the day

The Baroste Royal Establishment (BRE) has reaffirmed its position of being non-partisan and committed to working with the government of the day.

Senior Chief Anan’anga Imwiko of Namayula Palace in Lukulu District said the BRE is mandated to work with the government of the day because the party in then, represents the wishes of Zambians.

The Chief said the position of being non-partisan has been misunderstood by many people and political parties.

He was speaking in Lukulu when Western Province Permanent Secretary Augustine Seyuba called on him at his palace during a familiarization tour.

The Chief emphasized that the BRE’s obligation is to work with the government of the day as decided by Zambians that include the people of Western Province during election.

” You see we are being misunderstood by the general public even politicains, we are bound to work with the government of the day because then that is what the people of Zambia has given us, we will always mainten to working with the party in power.” Chief Anan’anga said.

He said the policy of BRE is to work with the government of the day as always government is responsable for the development of the country with the involvment of traditional leaders.

” How do you expect me to say I belong to this party when all the development brought to my area is being initiated by the party in power? he said.

Senior Chief Anan’anga has since appealed to government to initiate projects that will help change the poor status of the district and province as whole saying there is a lot work to be done if the province is to hold its rightful position.

The Chief also thanked commended President Michael Sata for emerging victoriously in the September 20 general elections and thanked him for appointing Mr. Seyuba as Permanent Secretary for Western Province.

AND Mr. Seyuba said government has great respect for traditional in the country saying this is evident establishment of a new Ministry to look into the welfare of traditional leaders.

He said traditional leaders are major stockholders in the development of the country adding government will work closely with the BRE in fostering visible and sound development to the people of Western Province.

Mr. Seyuba has since assured the BRE that he will monitor all government projects closely to ensure that there is Transparency, Accountability, Responsibility and Fairness.

Power Dynamos Are 2011 Barclays Cup Champions

Power Dynamos overcame their turmoil on their bench to complete a league and cup double this season.

The Kitwe side beat Konkola Blades 2-1 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe to win the 2011 Barclays Cup in Kitwe.

Both warring coaches Fordson Kabole and Beston Chambeshi were on the bench with the latter barking orders from the sidelines.

Midfielders Simon Bwalya and Mukuka Mulenga scored the winning goals in the 20th and 27th minutes respectively.

Ex-Power striker Elson Mkandawire scored Blades consolation in the 67th minute.

Mkandawire’s goal was his second against his former club after scoring another goal in Blades 2-1 loss at the same venue in a Faz Super Division Week 19 game in August.

Journalist should be protected

The Human Rights Commission has called on law enforcement officers to offer full protection to journalists when carrying out their duties.

Commission Chairperson Pixie Yangailo’s remarks follow the recent physical and verbal harassment of journalists by suspected relatives and sympathisers of Former Labour Minister Austin Liato at the Lusaka Magistrates Court.

Ms Yangailo told ZNBC news in a statement on Saturday that the Human Rights Commission is deeply saddened that the attacks on defenceless journalists happened within the court premises where people should have the full protection of the law.

She explained that the physical and verbal harassment of journalists is a threat to freedom of the media, which should not be unreasonably interfered with.

Ms Yangailo says the attacks also threaten the right of every citizen to be informed.

She says this can only be realised when journalists are free to carry out their duty of informing the public.

On Thursday, suspected relatives and sympathisers of Mr. Liato beat up journalists who had gone to cover the former Minister’s two point one billion kwacha case.

Kalinga Linga residents riot after a police reserve shoots dead a youth

Police on Saturday morning fought running battles with Kalingalinga residents who rioted after a police reserve shot and killed a youth in the area.

The named youth who earns a living by selling smoked beef outside a named night club in Kalingalinga was shot around 03:00 hours on Saturday after police tried to stop a fight at the premises

Police used full force as they picked up some people who were found burning tyres and throwing stones.

As the confusion worsened, riot police officers were compelled to fire rubber bullets and tear gas canisters to disperse the irate residents who had mobilised in huge numbers.

In acts of retaliation, some residents burnt tyres and threw stones at motorists while others attempted to set Kalingalinga police post on fire.

The residents vowed to avenge the death of the youth identified as Boniface Sikachelela whom they described as a peaceful person.

Alick Nkhata and Kamloops roads were briefly blocked by residents who continued to burn tyres and planks.

Lusaka Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga says the named reserve officer has been arrested and detained.

Ms Katanga appealed for calm as the police investigate the matter.

Meanwhile calm has returned in the area , however, police have kept vigil.

Sata commended for decision to allow corruption probe against his son

President Sata

President Michael Sata’s decision to have his son, probed against corruption allegations, has cheered people from various walks of life.

The Southern African Centre for Peaceful Resolution of Disputes-SACCORD- has described President Sata’s action as unprecedented in the fight against Corruption on the African Continent.

SACCORD Spokesperson Obby Chibuluma says President Sata has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the fight against corruption by surrendering his own son to law enforcement agencies to prove allegations raised by Committee of Citizens Executive Director, Gregory Chifire.

Mr Chibuluma told ZNBC news on Saturday that Mr Chifire should prove his allegations and face the same law if found to be peddling falsehoods against the President’s family.

And Political Activist Dante Sauders says President Sata’s style of leadership and fight against corruption requires the support of all well meaning citizens.

Meanwhile, Mufumbwe MMD Member of Parliament, Stephen Masumba says President Sata’s action should be a serious signal to his relatives and government leaders that may attempt to engage in corrupt activities.

Mr Masumba says Zambia needs the seriousness that President Sata has demonstrated to move the nation forward.

President Sata on Friday asked the law enforcement agencies to summon his son and Mr Chifire over the matter.

Mr Chifire had accused the President’s son of acquiring two motor vehicles worth over One point eight billion Kwacha, way beyond his income.

Zambia police have detained Iris Kaingu and Teddy Malekani for appearing in obscene material. Lusaka province police commissioner Charity Katanga said the detention of the duo is to help police with investigations into the matter.

Ms. Kaingu 20 and Teddy aged 21 are both ex-ZICAS students. Mrs. Katanga said the two have been arrested in connection to obscene materials in which they appeared in.

She adds that the detention comes after police intensified investigations into the matter.

And Police have recovered twenty five stolen vehicles from various parts of the country. Lusaka province police commissioner Charity Katanga says the recovered vehicles were suspected to have been stolen in the past ten months.

She said sixteen people have so far been arrested in connection with stolen vehicles.

Mrs. Katanga revealed that seven people among the sixteen suspects were arrested in connection with the stealing a Malawian Toyota Hilux.

She further disclosed that one of the suspects is alleged to have stolen nine Motor vehicles of which six are bearing one registration number ABX 5468 and three bearing sharing another number plate ABP 6123.

Mrs. Katanga said those arrested have been charged with aggravated robbery and theft of vehicles. She said suspects will appear in court soon.

Cottan requests court to dissolve his marriage, claims denies him sex

Former National Milling Managing Director Peter Cottan has filed for a divorce claiming that his wife denies him sex.

Mr. Cottan has requested the Lusaka High court to nullify his marriage with United Nations High Commission for Refuges–UNHCR- human resource manager Lenny Cottan Nee Chona charging that his wife has been unreasonably denying him sex.

Mr. Cottan claims that he has not enjoyed normal and satisfactory sexual life since 2009.

He argues that after noticing that their four year old child has been affecting their sexual life; he decorated a nursery room for the toddler to be sleeping in but the move proved fruitless.

Mr. Cottan says his wife has without any consideration of his sexual feelings given no explanation and that his marriage has suffered irreparable damage.

He further accuses his wife of refusing to take contraceptive pills and that she had been forcing him to use male condoms which he dislikes.

And Mr. Cottan further alleges that his wife does not allow him to exercise parental role of his twenty year old step son Choolwe Chona.

But responding to Mr. Cottan’s claims Lenny Cottan Nee Chona says the use of a condom was a collective agreement as a means of safe sex.

Mrs. Cottan refuted her husband’s claims.

And on the assertions that she forbids Mr. Cottan to exercise parental role to Choolwe, Mrs. Cottan accused her husband of being hostile and unkind towards her son upon realizing that his alleged improper sexual association with a ZICAS student had been exposed.

Mrs. Cottan claims that her husband has since left their matrimonial home and is cohabiting with a Namushi Monde a ZICAS student who is his step son’s schoolmate.

Former Finance Minister, Situmbeko Musokotwane has warned that the country stands to lose if the PF government reverses the sale of Zamtel.

Speaking on the MUVI TV Assignment program, Dr. Musokotwane says the decision will scare the much needed investors in to the country.

He maintains that the 275 Million US Dollars Lap green of Libya paid to acquire 75 percent shares in Zamtel was a good fee considering Zamtel’s state at the time of sale.

Dr. Musokotwane further clarified that Zamtel owed government more money contrary to insinuations that it was government that owed the firm a lot of money.

Meanwhile, Dr. Musokotwane has wondered why civil society organizations are quite over alleged illegal decisions being perpetuated by President Sata.

He cited the reversal of the sale of Finance Bank as a case in point.

Dr. Musokotwane says the sale of the Bank was according to the provisions of the laws of the land, but wondered what law the President used to reverse the sale.

State House ask Chifire to report the R15 million allegations to law enforcement agencies

STATE HOUSE has advised Committee of Citizens executive director Mr Gregory Chifire to put down a formal complaint with the law enforcement agencies over the 15 million South African Rand transaction, which he is linking to a spouse of an unidentified senior military officer.

This is according to a press statement released to the media by state house press aide.

This follows Mr Chifire’s challenge that the Zambian Government comes out clean on the 15 million South African Rand, which he alleges was deposited into an FNB Bank account in Johannesburg on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 by a wife of one of the senior military officers he unfortunately has not named.

As a result, State House has implored law enforcement agencies like the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to invite Mr. Chifire and engage him on these very serious concerns he has raised.

Furthermore, State House has encouraged Mr Chifire to report any suspected unlawful activity linked to the first family to the relevant law enforcement agencies.

This is after Mr Chifire alleged that President Michael Sata’s son Mulenga, has purchased two luxurious automobiles among them, a brand new Jeep, both valued at K1.8 billion within a period of 60 days,

Since ascending to office, the President has frequently affirmed that his administration is determined to fight corruption and that there will be no sacred cows.

Therefore, it is only appropriate and responsible for Mr Chifire as a citizen to promptly inform the law enforcement agencies and provide irrefutable evidence of wrong-doing wherever such illegal conduct is identified or suspected.

According to the statement, State House wishes to underline President Sata’s standpoint: “No one will be shielded from prosecution once it has been evidently established that a crime has been committed in spite of their status in society. Zambians must be equal before the law.”

For that reason, the President has appealed to the law enforcement agencies in particular, the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to summon both Mr Chifire and his son Mulenga to assist with investigations.

Konkola Blades Seek to End 13 Year Cup Draught

Konkola Blades seek their first cup honor in 13 years when they face embattled Power Dynamos on Saturday in the Barclays Cup final at Arthur Davies Stadium.

The Chililabombwe side has not won a single cup since 1998 when they beat Zanaco 2-1 to lift the Mosi Cup.

Victory this weekend would cap what has been a very productive season by their own standards that saw them finish third on the table.

However, the low point of that and ahead of game this weekend has been the tragic passing of assistant coach Charles Mwila.

Mwila died last week from injuries he sustained in a mine accident at Konkola Mine where he worked on November 9.

Blades assistant coach Manfred Chabinga says victory on Saturday against Power will be dedicated to Mwila.

Chabinga is standing in for Keagan Mumba who is away with the Zambia Under-20 team at the Cosafa Youth Championship in Botswana.

Meanwhile, hosts and 2009 Barclays Cup champions are gunning for a double after lifting the league this season.

However, their come into this game a divided house on the bench.

Technical advisor Fordson Kabole has openly declared that him and not coach Boston Chambeshi was the architect of Powers league triumph this season
Chambeshi said he will be on the bench as usual this weekend together with Kabole.

We shall see how the two celebrate should Power complete their double.

Cosafa U20: Zambia Survive Against Tanzania

Defending champions Zambia rallied twice to survive defeat against Tanzania in their opening game at the Cosafa Youth Championship this evening in Gaborone, Botswana.

Guest team Tanzania took a 5th minute lead through Msuvan HappyGod.

Evans Kangwa equalized 10 minutes later after turning in a cross from his Nkana team mate Reynold Kampamba.

However, HappyGod was back on the score sheet in the 25th minute.

But Kangwa joined him on a brace three minutes later when he converted a penalty after Kampamba went down in the area.

Four minutes before the break, Tanzania took a 3-2 halftime lead through Hassan Kessy who whipped in the ball straight from a corner beating Charles Mweemba.

In the 44th minute, Zambia got out of jail after HappyGod failed to record a hat trick when he ballooned a penalty.

After a flurry of second half changes, Zambia equalized in the 84th minute through Alex Sichone whose free kick made sure the two teams shared the three points.

Tanzania and Zambia have one point each, two less than South Africa who beat bottom placed Mauritius 4-0 in the earlier Group C kickoff.

Zambia face Mauritius on December 4 needing an emphatic win to keep their semifinal dreams alive before facing South Africa in their last Group C game on December 6.

Power Dynamos have said they are cautious over registering controversial striker Francis Kombe for their 2012 CAF Champions League due to his involvement in a match fixing scandal in Finland earlier this year.

Kombe, who is currently training at Power, was among seven Zambian players who received suspended sentences in July, ranging from six months to 20 months for a match-fixing case.

Kombe, Godfrey Chabinga, Chileshe Chibwe, Stephen Kunda, Christopher Musonda, Chanda Mwaba and Nchimunya Mweetwa, who were playing for Rovaniemi Palloseura (ROPs), were sentenced along with their two Georgian team-mates.

Speaking to LT Sports in Kitwe, Power secretary Justin Kapoma said they were consulting with FAZ on the fate of the former Chipolopolo Striker before deciding to registering him.

“On Kombe, until we get a go-head from FAZ, we won’t register him (Kombe).
That issue (sentence over match fixing) is still outstanding, so we are waiting for a confirmation from FAZ,” he said.

Kapoma, however, said Power plans reinforce their squad and have identified some players from local clubs.

“Yes, we are trying to reinforce certain areas but at this point I can’t give you the names because we have not yet discussed with the teams where we intend to acquire the players,” he added.
