France says President Mwanawasa is receiving the best medical treatment in that country.
French Ambassador to Zambia, Francoise Le Bihan said President Mwanawasa has continued to receive medical attention from some of the best medical practitioners in France.
Ms. Le Bihan also said the French are praying for the quick recovery of the President.
She said this in Lusaka during celebrations to mark the French national day at her residence.
At the same function Finance Minister, Ng’andu Magande thanked the France for the hospitality being accorded to President Mwanawasa and the first family.
He said France has contributed greatly to the well being of Zambians in social and economic development.
Mr Magande urged the French government to increase its efforts towards in the socio and economic emancipation of Zambia.
Mr. Magande said there was need for the French government to continue assisting Zambia to fully recover from its economic depression in order to improve the living standards of her people.
He said the French government should contribute to the well-being of Zambians in areas of the socio-economic development that include the health and education sectors.
Mr. Magande also thanked the French government for the crucial role it has continued to play in providing Zambia with the much needed professional human resource.
He said the French government’s sending of more human resource to Zambia was a clear testimony that country’s commitments to assist the country to meet its targeted human resource.
And French Ambassador to Zambia pledged her country’s continued support to Zambia’s socio and economic development.
Mrs. Le Bihan said her country would continue supporting Zambia in many areas of economic development.
She said France would to assist Zambia in areas such as health and education, which she said were key sectors of the country’s development.
She has since urged French companies to invest in Zambia as a way of helping her to uplift people’s living standards.
