Share

The Investrust Bank says it is committed to deveploing sport in the country.

And Investrust Bank says it welcomes partnering with other stakeholders in an effort
to uplift the ailing sporting discplines such as boxing.

Investrust Bank Public Relations and Marketing Manager Andre Makulu says supporting  sport in the nation helps to rise the country’s profile internationally.

Asked if his institution has pledged to support Francis ‘Galagata’ Zulu on the
October 28 encounter against a named Tazanian boxer, Makulu said his institution has
not yet been approached by Galagata’s promoters.

Makulu said if Galagata wins, that would be a great achievement to Zambia and at the
same time rise Zambia’s flag higher.

He called for support for the Zambian boxer if he is to carry the day.

“As a financial institution, we’re looking for opportunities to get involved. In
this case we have not been approached by Galagata’s promoters to assist,” Makulu
said.

Recently, Investrust Bank participated by contributing to Zambia’s first female
boxer icon Ester Phiri.

Ester was supported by National Milling Corporation and she was crowned World Boxing  Champion (WBC) after beating a Bulgarian.

  1. Zesco win 2007 league

    Zesco 2 Zamtel 0

RUNAWAY leaders, Zesco United, yesterday scooped the 2007 KCM-FAZ Premier Division league title with three games to spare after halting a determined Zamtel FC in a derby played in Ndola.
To become the first team from Ndola to win the ‘Big League’ soccer title, Zesco had to endure a fierce first half onslaught from Zamtel who were bent on delaying their neighbours’ coronation and strengthen their own battle against relegation.
But at the end of the day, experience counted the most when top league scorer, Rainford Kalaba, put Zesco on their way to the title in the 44th minute while Enock Sakala put the match beyond doubt after 65 minutes of play.
Kalaba, a Zambia international, tapped the ball home after a flick-on from Sakala to send the Zesco supporters into a frenzy and mood to party.
Zamtel pushed hard for an equaliser, but it was their persistent dash forward that cost them the second goal when Kalaba returned the favour to Sakala for the lanky striker to silence Zamtel in a brutal counter-attack.
The win increased Zesco’s points tally to an unassailable 62 points and ticket to represent Zambia in the 2008 African Champions league.

  2. Congratulations to Zesco.Job well done i only hope they have a team to get through to the group stage of the Champions League. That would be history for Zed soccer. All the best as you fly the Zambian flag in Africa next year.

  3. Nkana FC have advanced to the pre-quarter finals of the MOSI cup after beating fellow division 1 and kitwe outfit Kitwe United by 4-3 post match penalties.

I look forward to meeting Zesco in the MOSI Cup, Barclays Cup or the Charity Chield at the start of the season next year.

We MUST teach ZESCO that no one beats us 5-0 and goes scot free. Long Live Kalampa.

  4. What is this invest trust saying. What have done about from this cheap talking, about contributing to the development of sport in Zambia. If the company is serious about it, let it built some sports infrasctructure in all nine provinces of Zambia.

Congrats Zesco and Wedeson for winning the League with three game in hand.Wishing you the best in the next years’ champions league, where no Zambian club has reached the league stages, strengthen your club with more quality players.
