20 yr old girl murdered

Gender activists marching during the launch of the 16 days of activism against gender based violence in Lusaka.

A grade Eleven pupil of Ndola’s Temweni high School was Sunday found dead and police suspect foul play.

Police spokesperson, Ndandula Siamana identified the deceased girl as Mirriam Mumba aged 20 of Chipulukusu township in Ndola.

Ms SIAMANA said the school girl is suspected to have been raped before being murdered.

She said police found under wear, a pair of socks and shoes on the murder scene.

Ms. Siamana said the murder happened in the evening when the girl in the company of friends was on her way to attend a funeral in the neighborhood.

  1. Sad indeed.
    But the police statement is quite incomplete, because how could this girl be murdered when she was in the company of friends?
    Also, this system of going to sleep at a funeral house should be done away with as the purpose is no longer there.

  3. This is yet another sad story.we are slowly entering the ‘Silly season’ and everyone must be on full alert the devil is at work confusion will be the order of the day.I am very sure police will get these senseless criminals and put them into jail to rot.

  4. Chabipa. Indeed, how could she have been murdered when she was in a group of others going for a funeral? Didn’t the other girls see the attacker? Why didn’t they should for help? Looking at our police force, there will be no answers. Very sad for the family of the late girl. Murderers should be hanged or short through a firing squad. No mercy should be shown to them & no life imprisonment
    to avoid being pardoned by the president
