Isoka – Muyombe road works commissioned

Share

President Rupiah Banda has commissioned the project to upgrade the Isoka-Muyombe-Chama-Lundazi Road.

The first phase of the project, which will cost more than two billion Kwacha, is fully funded by the Zambian government.

And President Banda has declared that Zambians are ready to develop their country, and says the government will continue to provide the necessary support including roads.

The President was speaking in Isoka, Friday when he commissioned the project to upgrade the Isoka-Muyombe-Chama-Lundazi Road, which will be undertaken by China Jiangxi Corporation.

Mr. Banda said the project has been divided into three lots, with the first covering a distance of ninety kilometres from Isoka towards Muyombe which will be tarred within two years.

He directed the Road Development Agency RDA to ensure that the contractor delivers a good road and pledged that the government will continue funding the road sector.

President Banda said his government wants to deliver development to all parts of Zambia for the sake of the future generation.

At the same occasion, RDA Board Chairman Luambe Mondoloka said the agency will ensure that township and feeder roads are also repaired.

Mr. Mondoloka said the RDA has found contractors to work on the Great North Road which is in poor conditions on some portions.

And Northern Province Minister John Chinyanta said the development projects that are taking place in the area have made President Banda and the MMD popular in the province.

  1. “President Banda said his government wants to deliver development to all parts of Zambia for the sake of the future generation” Your excellency may God bless you, you are thinking about future generations!
I also pray to God almighty that you come to know the Lord Jesus Christ.

  2. We need elections every year in Zambia for development to be consistent. Even Banda at least has decided to stay home for over a week now. Should we keep him for another term? Hell NO!

  3. #1 Dada,
There is no reason to mention God here. How do you know if President Banda is working for God or to enrich himself and his family? He is doing his own things, by commissioning this road he hopes he has corrupted the people of Isoka to vote for him and you call this, “God bless you?”

If our President stops being stubborn, let truckers and mine owners using heavy truckers to transport their minerals, pay for these road constructions and maintenance, then you can say, “God bless you,” but alas our President is doing his own things contrary to what we want him to do for us Zambians!!!

Look at the Great North road after being constructed at a very high price from tax payers money (without the contributions from heavy truckers movers).President Banda is not worried…

  4. RB is just doing the right thing. at this stage zambia benefits by keeping him. he has it right, gov should spent money on infrasture than on maintaining companies or parastatals

  5. # 3 wisdom:

It is very unfortunate that you have that type of thinking in this time and age.
Any Zambian can travel and can settle anywhere they want to.
I wonder what you are thinking when you say, “.. for the easterners..”.
This shows that we have very different ways of viewing things around us.
This is what causes, development to go slow.
so for you when Choma-namwala was being done you said, ‘for the southerners’
    Mongu-Kalabo, for the westerners,
    Chibombo-Chisamba, for central etc.

Man/woman, you have a lot of work to do!!

  6. It is sad that it ha taken 47 years to work on this road! I was last in Lundazi-Chama 25 years ago and people were still crying for this. Here is my proposal: Kalulushi-Zambezi road. Zambezi-Shang’ombo road. Mulungushi -Lundazi road. Mansa-Kawambwa road (not the valley) and upgrading all roads into dual carriage ways i.e. interprovincial roads!

  7. #7 Fine!,

    #3 is Right!!!

President Banda has an old mentality and is not thinking like you are. A tribalist is a tribalist. President Banda is on record of telling Easterners not to vote people from other tribes and provinces, and forcing Chilufya Chishala just because he is Bemba to withdraw from the MMD Eastern Province Provincial Chairmanship!! Kennedy Zulu a Easterner is the MMD Eastern Province provincial Chairman just because of President Banda’s tribalism!!

So #7 Fine!, what do you call this?
Myself i plan to settle in Eastern Province in the near future but i know that if am going to find people with President Banda’s mentality i will be discriminated against just as they did to Chilufya Chishala.

The President has done this for the benefit of Easterners…

  8. #7 Fine!,

A tribalists thrives and find comfort in the belief that if he is in the midst of his tribesmen he is safe when in fact not!!!!

Look at the people working at State House? Its Jere, Zulu, even clergymen who blindly supports President Banda its Ndhlovu, Nkhma, Zulu.

And can’t you see that even people who are benefiting at State House its Easterners and not the rest of the tribes.

The best, development and appointments based on tribalism must change. The One Zambia One Nation has to be practiced by our President.

  9. shaka OZ you are a lier. RB maybe a triberlist but he in not on record saying the things you are saying. you are quoting the post story not RB’s words. chaps like you can start a fire that can burn the country. stop lying either say the truth or air you opinions they dont have to be true.

  10. re– costruction of roads, has zambia any standards ie compacting surface with gravel,
    sones, osand etc etc
