United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has said that there is no possibility of reviving the political alliance with the Patriotic Front. Mr Hichilema said his party feels betrayed by the PF.
He said the PF has not been sincere in the way they have been handling the political pact for the past one year.
Mr Hichilema said his party will not reconcile with the PF over the Pact because the PF’s intensions of forming the Pact were not genuine.
He said the PF’s wish of wanting to go it alone has been granted and that the UPND will move on as a single party.
Mr Hichilema said accusing the UPND for the collapse of the pact is a mere public relations tool which the PF is putting across.
Mr. Hichilema was speaking to journalists in Lusaka today during the UPND’s card renewal exercise held at Mulungushi International Conference centre.
Early this week the PF General Secretary Wynter Kabimba accused the UPND of undermining the pact.
The UPND and PF formed a pact in 2009 with a view to remove the MMD from power.

The PACT was every Zambians wish but these 2 arrogant leaders are too selfish to agree, they would rather lose an election than share positions. They are a waste of space and they are not taking us anywhere. They are so desperate for Plot 1 that they would break the pack and waste people’s wishes for unity.
Just remember that in every constituency where UPND or PF wins, MMD will come out 2nd and remember they too have strong areas aswell and the pact failure is a big score for them.
Non of them has even told us what they will do if they win, they critise day and night but we have not heard any plans yet. How are they going to create jobs and revive the economy? No plan at all.
Because the pact was welcome by most Zambians than those who were against it. It is very sad that HH is also against it when Sata is extending an olive branch. So now those who were undecided between UPND and PF will now move to Bwatooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
MMD members should begin to cerebrate victory in advance. The situation would just lead to vote splitting and hence giving the ruling party an advantage. Sata knows this no wonder he maintains that the pact was still intact despite UPND clearly stating that it had withdrawn.

The duplicity of Mr. Sata’s character appears even in his policies. He has this impossible mix of policies that can only deceive a person who is unable to think in integral wholes. Mr. Sata has on one hand, a policy of very low taxes (within 90 days) and on the other hand, another policy of improving the lives of the poorest people by building them modern houses, also within 90 days (besides giving jobs to all unemployed nurses and teachers, increasing the salaries of all teachers, policemen, students, etc). If you take these policies separately, they are technically possible and doable, but not if you try to integrate them. Mr. Sata is relying on the failure of people to think by integration, a mental weakness he also clearly exhibits. Just as he has seen that they cannot integrate this.
