Some unknown people have exhumed a body of a 31 year old woman of Dingwalo village in Senior Chief Mukumbi’s area in Solwezi district and cut off private and other body parts.
The body of an identified woman, who is said to have died in December, last year, was found about 300 meters away from the burial site yesterday.
Northwestern Province Police Chief Charles Lungu, who confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Solwezi today, said the body was found with some parts missing.
Mr. Lungu said the missing parts were the head, legs, hands, private parts and intestines.
He said police have since instituted investigations into the matter to ascertain circumstances under which the body could have been exhumed, adding that appropriate action will be taken on anyone found wanting.
The police chief has since warned people to desist from tempering with graves as it was an offence under the penal code.
In another development, Police in Solwezi yesterday retrieved a body of a 24 year old man of messengers’ compound who drowned in Kifubwa river on last Sunday.
The body of Kapalu Humbu, who drowned after slipping off the log as he tried to cross the river, was found floating near Mitukutuku by passers-by who later alerted police.

If the person was buried in December what are the chances that the body would still be intact. Wouldn’t the tissue be too broken down? How was she identified without a head? Too many unanswered questions. The reporting is not right
there is very little oxygen down there to decompose the body. it can stay almost intact
1. Nubian Princess – the body could have been identified based on other things, eg which grave had ben disturbed, clothes the corpse was in, rate of decomposition, body marks and scars etc.
Howeever I agree when you say Wouldn’t the tissue be too broken down?
Ehhh! ubuloshi tawakapwe?? please leave the departed in peace mwe bantu!!!
Sounds like it could be for “juju” or witchcraft purposes.
Damn….this defies my humble medical knowledge.Identifying that a four month old copse has missing intestines and private parts ? Hmm…maybe i can learn something new here.

how did you know it was her if she had no head and legs and hands……this police is questionable..have you done DNA test to prove that…

If you have been to the village, you will know that graveyards in villages are not as complicated as Chingwere or Leopards Hill cemetery. My granny knows where here husband was buried three decades ago and the grave has no mark whatsoever.
The reporting is terrible !
“He said police have since instituted investigations into the matter to ascertain circumstances under which the body could have been exhumed, adding that appropriate action will be taken on anyone found wanting.”
Good luck in finding the culprit/s!
A headless body can still be identified since burial sites have tombstones with names of deceaced engraved on them. I am sure the Police simply matched……..Depending on how the dead was prepared and buried it can become mummified for a while. Remember Pharaos of Egypt had their bodies mummified.Kamuzu Banda has been buried in a casket that will preserve his body for at least 100 years- so we are told. Hey I am not a specialist in these things- I may be wrong.
Too bad pa zed. am surprised why chief Mumena is quiet.
Bloggers, do we have a law that can take care of all these tuma witch doctors around. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was done on advice from some witch doctor. Similarly, most of the defilements around us are due to advice from witch doctors who go on about having sex with a pure child or virgin. Can’t all these fools be gotten rid of? In the Post’s sangwapo there is always those claiming to have medication to basically re-design a human being…why are we sitting idle watching these guys mock God with their charms?
Scary shit this is,i hope there are no politicians involved in a desperate attempt to win elections.Aint coming home soon eish.
Its witchcraft, we have have stories coming from that area about coffins refusing to be buried, following and beating suspected wictches/wizards, etc.
Gruesome indeed. Like many here have questioned, the flesh of a dead human would survive 100 dayz?
It might have been a chimbyi (Hyena).
who else can do that apart from the PF. this is not different from gayism and sebianism (sorry lesbianism) DONT KUFYONO
I thought such things only happen in Southern Province.
Hehhheh ba #17 its Chimbwi and not chimbyi…mwanisekesa maningi… lelo.
LEGATRA is back in Zed.
I am told that when the body is exposed to air for a while, it decomposes faster than when it is buried, meaning that when it is in the coffin and six feet down, it decomposes at a very lower rate, maybe after six months or so. and am told the body just reduces in size as it decomposes if it is buried, as the termites eat away the flesh. it reduces in size like the way we used to see AIDS patients long time ago wear away. am told thats what happens, and that if it is not buried and just left unburied, its when it decoposes rapidly in a matter of days. I was just told so, i cant prove it, and was just sharing.
Hey Bella baibe (No. 20), whats up baibe! i couldnt help but notice you. Big up to you.
