SuperSport Pulls Faz Plug After Easter

Share

SuperSport will temporally suspend coverage of the MTN/Faz super Division after Easter due to operational differences with Football House.

In a statement obtained by LT Sports today, Multichoice Zambia public relations manager Marlon Kananda said they will only show two of the three live matches originally on their schedule to be aired this Easter weekend before pulling the plug.

The third match in question that will not be shown by SuperSport will be the Nkana-Nchanga Rangers Week 4 game in Kitwe planned for this Saturday.

That broadcast clashed with the live transmission of the Caf Champions League match by the state-run terrestrial broadcaster ZNBC TV between Zesco United and Al Ahly of Egypt on Saturday.

Faz has scheduled the Nkana game for Friday instead of Saturday.

“SuperSport and MultiChoice wish to register their disappointment to the changes made to the fixture for this weekend’s games by the Football Association of Zambia,” Kananda said.

“The fixture were agreed 2 weeks ago and SuperSport had planned for the live broadcast of the MTN FAZ premier games up to Week 10,  we feel it is unacceptable to change the games at short notice when all logistics had been put in place like scheduling, communication to our stakeholders and subscribers on the games to be beamed live .

“Due to these changes,  SuperSport will only show 2 live games this weekend namely  Power Dynamos versus Roan on Sunday  kicking off at 15hrs and Nchanga Rangers versus Kalewa on Monday, kickoff is also 15:00 hours.

“We also wish to state that this weekend’s games are the last games to be broadcasted live by SuperSport until the Football Association of Zambia gives us a fixture that will not be changed at short notice.”

  1. What a relief,i hope they don’t ever show the games again.People it was embarrassing watching Zambian teams playing on those grazing grounds they call football grounds.I applaud SuperSport mwandi.

  2. Kalushas’s admin skills have once again been called into question the best thing for his executive to do is resign and let competent people ran football.

  3. bushe uyu mwaiche Kalusha ninshi tomfwa batini. he has completely failed to uphold the standard of the football administration. the best thing to do is the entire executive to resign and leave room for others to take over. this is really a shameful thing.

  4. Check your facts before making noise # 2,3 and4. ask yourselves as to why changes have been made be analytical B.a.f.i.k.a.l.a

  5. There is more to it than fixtures.Even big games in FA or LaLiga get re-scheduled.This ois not a new thing. There is a bigger reason somewhere.

  6. Did you know that the 2010 FAZ/KCM league ran without set fixturez? All that FAZ did waz take the 2009 fixturez, replaced demoted teamz and get set go! Wonder if the 2011 fixturez are any different, or if they’ve made at all.

  7. This will continue to be the usual because half of Zambia has no standards at all and want Kalusha to continue for reasons I don’t want to go into at the moment; while the second half of Zambia which is sensible and knows what it is talking about and what zambian football needs is constantly frustrated by the other half which is vocal but completely ignorant. In the end, the country will lose and continues to lose. It shocks me. There are some we should ensure never to let into management positions ever!

  8. Ba Kunta-kinte, please serve us with your Kalusha phobia, this has nothing to do with Him, as some have indicated above you re-schedule a fixture happens everywhere. Iam sure you’re not a football fan.Our standards are Bad, but having said that, that doesn’t take away our love for the game.I would rather watch it on Super sport than not.

  9. When you go to the FAZ website, fazfootball.com,  there should be fixturez for all the FAZ leaguez especially the Super League, but there iz nothing!

  10. Supersports should not take us for a ride. We have subscribed knowing we will be watching Bola ya pa Zed. Fixture change and thats no reason to tell us that from easter they will stop beamin Z games. Wether on grass or on bare groung we want those games shown.

  11. I think FAZ need to reorganise its Secretariat, that is where the big problem lies.Supersport should reconsider their decision. Many of us follow bola ya ZED.Fred from Petauke
