President Rupiah Banda

Republican President Rupiah Banda has commissioned the rehabilitation works on selected urban roads and solar geysers in Lusaka.

And President Banda has directed the Road Development Agency (RDA) to ensure that good quality work is done on the roads.

Speaking during the launch in Mandevu Township today, President Banda said the rehabilitation works will cost K300 billion.

He says the commissioning of the works marks the beginning of the rehabilitation of a number of roads across the country.

The President noted that his government is aware that a number of roads in the country are in a state of disrepair hence government has embarked on working on key urban roads in the country.

And President Banda has further said the policy of the MMD government is to ensure that lives of the majority Zambians are improved.

The President has also reduced the reconnection fee for electricity from K767 000 to K21 000 in low cost houses while that of high cost houses has been reduced from over K2 million to K77 000.

The President has said these fees will apply for a period of three years.

  3. I don’t care if this is campaigning or not but i’m very proud of the government for fixing the roads in Lusaka. Good job RB, don’t listen to the Post and their noise-makers

  4. As if not enough, RB sources over K15b for UNZA

President Rupiah Banda has sourced over 15 billion kwacha to improve infrastructure at the University of Zambia-UNZA.

President Banda has also disclosed that the money will be used to improve the allowances for students at the institutions.

Mr Band says government is committed to improve existing tertiary institutions in the country.

He was speaking when he commissioned the rehabilitation of selected roads in Lusaka on Saturday.

He says government will also concentrate on improving the welfare of students in institutions of higher learning.

Mr Banda says government is determined to ensure that Zambia is prosperous.

  5. As Kitwe pledges support for RB

Many Kitwe residents have pledged to support President Rupiah Banda in this year’s tripartite elections.

The residents who gathered in Kitwe’s Mulenga Township on Friday say they have decided to re-elect the MMD back into government in this year’s elections because the opposition has nothing to offer the Zambian people.

Speaking on behalf of the residents John Kamanda said the electorate in Kitwe is tired of supporting opposition parties which do not foster any development in the area.

  6. Mr. Kamanda said the MMD government deserves to be re-elected so that development activities currently being undertaken in various parts of the country are sustained.

He said residents in Kitwe will no longer be used by opposition political parties which abuse the vulnerable to gain cheap political mileage.

Another resident, Dennis Kunda said the opposition in Kitwe has been weakened because people want a development focused leadership.

  7. Banda asensela ilyo kawa. Where was all these billion dollars in past 2 years, or is RB and his MMD just want to empty bank accounts so Sata & PF could have no money to use when they come into power? MMD you can force yourself to win with all that, but I bet people will light up cars after election announcements.

  8. People, this is good. This is mature politics, Even if MMD looses, PF will be on there toes to continue the projects. If the Zambian citizens see all these projects stop. Then PF will be a first One term party. They will have to continue sourcing funds to impress the people to stay in power. That is what a democracy is about. Do you honestly think RB will try and do a deal now after tasting pre defeat?? Just look, he cant even stay away from the country now. This will make him work and even not hane time to pee properly.
If he has done anything he regrets it as he has seen how things can turn around. Of all poeple he should have forgoten from the UNIP collapse. He cried wildly when Supa Ken Told then Gentlemen We have Lost. Lets Pack and Go. Its good. I wish even HH can have more to offr

  9. The more pressure the better for the ruling party. The less the corruption we will see for the fear of prosecution after leaving government. He should now root out people like the General Noses and Dollar hules from the party for bringing him to near collapse and end of an Era.

One thing people like Senior Citizen shoul be more pragmatic when looking at issues and not to be like a penis in a dirty underwear that needs to be scratched every ten minutes. Dont follow too blindly and be reasonable and accept that pressure is working. Its called a democracy.

PF Keep the pedal to the floor. we can only just see more coming

  10. If he started like this,he was going to make a good president. Now he started by embracing corruption, being stubborn on issues of national interest, exploring the world and now on the 11th hour he has realised that he needs the same people he never listened to. Hence projects of vote buying and hoodwinking voters.
Prepare your bags because people have already made up their minds for change. Do what you wish but NI DONT KUBEBA.

    Terminall sick Sata

  12. Sata Heart Attack, Bladder or Prostate Cancer, Thyroid disease and raised Cholestrol Terminally sick. Sata Heart Attack, Bladder or Prostate Cancer, Thyroid disease and raised Cholestrol Terminally sick.

Terminally sick Sata panting for a state funeral but will end as a thug in hell with his father Satan.

  13. Road commissioning is RB’s order of the day. How far has the Chipata Mfuwe Road project gone? How about the Chama Isoka Project to mention but a few? A ll these are just on paper. Sable just parked their caterpillars and never did anything up to now. I very much doubt if any of these projects will materialise apart from grading the roads and bringing in crushed stone which will later be stolen by builders. Shame on you RB.

  14. I see many people lately with one of these greater styled Oakleys possibly since they in shape greater melons like my personal. One thing I’m keen on concerning the basic draught beer colour is the fact I hardly ever actually see them.
