Share

President Sata has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of former deputy High Commissioner to Canada, Brigadier-General Joseph Ngosa Chitomfwa (Rtd).

This is contained in a statement released by George Chellah special assistant to the President on press and public relations.
Brig. Gen. Chitomfwa, who also previously served as Chief of Military Intelligence and Security, died in the early hours of November 27, 2011 at Maina Soko Military Hospital.
President Sata says the deceased gallantly served the country in various capacities during his illustrious military career.
“It is with profound distress that I offer my deepest condolences to the Chitomfwa family on the loss of this devoted and dedicated compatriot,” President Sata says.
“We pray that the Almighty God gives them comfort and fortitude as they face these immense difficulties.”

  5. MHSRIP!

This is the guy that brought one of our infamous Generals from Congo DR (Zaire) single handedly, where they had been hiding.
He is also the guy that Apprehended CAPTAIN SOLO on that infamous night, when other generals were last seen scaling wall fences as they fled!!
A real general indeed – ever so humble!!

    Fairwell, Soldier!!!

  6. May the gallant son of the soil rest in eternal peace. For those not aware, he is the one who brought Godfrey Miyanda from Katanga where he was hiding after his coup was bursted. He tricked Godfoolish with a fake memo taking rounds in the Barracks that soldiers want Miyanda to come back and rule. When they crossed Kasumbalesa, he turned to Miyanda, read him his right including the one to remain silent and buddled him in the boot of a Peogeot 504.

  7. No. 11. On a point of correction. The man who used James Bond tactics to lure General Godfrey Miyanda from former Zaire where he had gone in hiding following a coup attempt was the late Director-General of Zambia Security and Intelligence Services, Mr Adamson Mbewe. Mr Mbewe used a mine aircraft to do the job. But I knew General Chitomfwa as well. He was such a humble man despite his impressive military credentials. A devout Roman Catholic, Gen Chitomfwa congregated at Kazimva Parish in Lusaka West and he and his beloved wife were such an asset to the church. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
