Spotlight on rap group ABC

A.B.C (ALPHA BETA CLASS) 

Straight out of the Capital city of Zambia, Lusaka comes a young talented duo, a new breed of rappers with a unique style….introducing A.B.C (Alpha Beta Class). The duo is made up of Platinum 72 and Syqik. They have been signed to LSK-eQualize since 2010. Their style of music can be categorized as hip-hop with a blend of Electro, Dance and African Rhythms, which they perform in English, Nyanja and Bemba.

Before A.B.C, Platinum 72 (real name Ilunga Jean) and Syqik (Mark Sean Jnr Mwale) were aspiring rappers who had recorded some songs which they would share with friends at their respective schools just to prove that they were dope rappers. In 2010 they met up at LSK-eQualize studios in Villa Elizabeth Lusaka, via Dre Chordz, third member of the group, who left the group later on 2011 due to some other commitments. At the end of 2011 LSK-equalize Studios released their first ever mixtape, titled “It’s about that time”. The mix tape consisted of tracks which they did previously and never saw the light of day, with major features by XYZ kingpins Slap Dee and Ruff-Kid, people started talking. The same year they performed at the Hot FM organized show zed 6 to 6 at Barclay’s sports complex in Lusaka, alongside the who’s who of the Zambian music industry. The same year they shared the same stage with Nigerian Superstar, Naeto C at Club Hollywood in Lusaka, where they proved to the audience and nay Sayers that they are a force to be reckoned with. Interviews on both radio and TV followed, plus a couple of new singles.

To date they have six videos under their belt, Party of the year (on me) has been making rounds on national TV and ‘Fighter’ with Ruff Kid too. MacGyver featuring Slap Dee, is digitally available online on YouTube to hit TV soon. The other videos like Oasis featuring Camstar, Take Ova and Crazy girl can be viewed online too on YouTube via the LSKreation Tube Channel or Ethankaed.FVG channel. EthanKaed.FVG has done all the videos for A.B.C.

A.B.C is currently working on their second mixtape entitled: The Take ova, which should be dropping soon, album is scheduled to drop next year, people should for now look out for new singles and videos. New single off of the upcoming mixtape; Vina Muchitenge is currently getting enough airplay as well.
