Get Involved Zambia Executive Director Father Frank Bwalya has observed that certain statements Republican President Michael Sata makes undermine confidence in the presidency.

Commenting on President Sata’s statement in which he described the Sebastian Zulu-led commission of inquiry report on radar contracts for the three international airports as useless and wondered whether the Justice Minister was trying to protect Dora Siliya, Father Bwalya said such statements raise doubts on the government’s fight against corruption.

Fr Bwalya told QFM News that such statements by the head of state have the potential to further undermine the people’s confidence in the Patriotic Front government.

He said that there is need for the president’s advisors to advise him on the comments he makes in public.

Father Bwalya says if left unchecked, such statements have the potential portray that the PF’s fight against corruption is targeted at certain individuals.

And the Zambia Consumer Association ZACA has implored the PF Government to work towards reducing the cost of living in the country.

ZACA Executive Director Muyunda Ililonga observes that people’s expectations with regards what the PF is offering are still high.

He says it is therefore important that the Patriotic Front government works in accordance with people’s expectations.

Mr. Ililonga stated that one of the best ways towards meeting the people’s expectations is by reducing the cost of living.

He said that with the reduction in the cost of living, poverty levels in the country will also reduce gradually.

Mr Ililonga was speaking to QFM News.

    • Yes you can use them to write checks get cash etc. BUT it is a huge miastke!Rip the checks up ASAP they give you 6 months with 0% interest but charge you a fee to cash the check and they know you can’t pay it all off in 6 months. They will get thier money from you don’t fall into this credit trap!Live debt free! It is a wonderful feeling.

  1. ‘Father Bwalya says if left unchecked, such statements have the potential portray that the PF’s fight against corruption is targeted at certain individuals’

Potential? who does not know that the fight against corruption is a stunt? When Seba recommended that Zamtel be repossessed as expected by Sata,he was a saint, the same Seba says the Ministry of Communication only interfered in the tender process and recommend giving the bid to the original bidder, its now useless and too technical for Sata.Henry’s lawyer Robert Amsterdam describes them better and that is representative of how the international community view PF.

  2. Am confused, was yesterday Sunday and did this dissident priest making it to a confession box? He now seems to have eyes open and started seeing the obvious. Interesting

  3. Spot on Father. HE’s statement may mean he had a pre-determined outcome from the commission of enquiry, which was not fulfiled by the committee’s report.

  4. Atleast priest hs spoken ds tym!I jst hope ur bg man wont tell u off aswell!vintu vikaipa jst say it!U cnt afod to shield hm forever!go father go!!!!

  5. a walya mweo..gelani ndevu! muoneka monga siru. monga patient wa ku Chainama. nway what uve said is wat weve been saying.

    • Mind your language this is a man of God, remember what the Bible says. Dont point a fingure of insult such or else you will be cased . Reverse your statement imidiately. There is nothing wrong that he has said against Sata but just a mare advice. Sata will take it or leave it.

    • Mind your language. What’s wrong with growing a beard. Remember Jesus had that too. Bukolwe nangu muli ba eastern you need to stop. What he has said is right.

  6. tame the cobra!he means gud bt needs constant reminder & advise frm his crew.he is no longer @ farmers hse.take heed

  7. It is a clear case of easier said than done. It takes a very level headed leadership to put things straight. I am pleased that Father bwalya is now beginning to see some nosense in his beloved presido. How does Zulu feel after such insults? If he does not resign then ideed he is useless for only a useless PERSON can produce useless results.

  8. Most ministers have already found it difficult working with this president.Mass resignations are expected from government.Ministers are tired with meaningless utterances.

    • resignations??? I have never heard of it with Zed politians. Ni ma politics ya njala. Kushipisha until they get fired, thats when they will talk. For now its about keeping their jobs.

  9. Well said Father Bwalya, but as a man of God you could have taken time to pray so that God can show you which person can make a good Leader but unfortunately, you were too busy slaughtering innocent Chickens as sacrifice so that your Sata can go through. What has changed now? Why are you speaking against him? Or is it don’t kubeba and that you are just trying to keep us busy? Only God knows what your thoughts are Frank Bwalya.

  10. His seem to enjoy being”excess mouth” to being his Excellence . The problem with this man seem to limited vocabulary in english. he seem to be always thinking in Bemba then the brain attemps to decode to English. There is no harm in him using Bemba as long as there is an interpreter after all chinese,Fraench sweedish, italian etc presidents always uses their mother tongue. Believe me Sata most of the time does not mean what he says coz of language barrier. It no good for a national leader to think loudly!

    • why not stand for Presidency since you have shown better ideas than the current one, so that we start
listening to your version of English.

  11. I am not a supporter of Sata, but it was the media that made an issue out of it, otherwise he never meant what has been portrayed. Read the original statement. I rest my case

  12. President Sata’s remarks will hurt u if you dont understand him. up till now am surpsrised that people do not know when to take the president seriously & when not to. he is also human & has a right to crack jokes! we are all different & have our own ways of expressing issues. he has lived this long being the way he is, u will get tired of criticising him! so instead of getting all worked up about it, accept him as he is & u’ll see humor in him…i like him becasue he is honest & frank unlike our past presidents who had shades of black & white & had to take u to read btn the lines to understand something

    • #20 Pixxyy
I agree with you in totality especially when you don’t understand the person. He should be accepted the way he is.BUT this should not fall short of people expressing their opinions on what they think is not right. It also depends on the way when and where remarks are made. Iam a staunch PF supporter and indeed a congregant of RT.Rev. Ft. Bwalya. It’s open.

    • The president’s speeches must always be serious! You know a statement like “this report is useless” how can that be a joke? Look I understand what you are trying to say, but our president can cause economic problems by using language – Kwacha reacts to whatever the president is saying and doing. So we need to be careful.

  13. Dictators tend to have certain ways to instil fear in people. Sata feels he is above everyone else, that’s why he talks to the nation as if he’s talking to his wife on the dinner table. We are sick and tired of witch hunting, please tell us your plans on the economy and how you intend to sweep Zambia clean.

  14. Father Bwalya now sounds just like someone on the road to Damascus who changed after coming into some sobering reality about his previous diehard convictions.Good of you father Bwalya

    • Fr Bwalya diehard convictions were about removing MMD from power, and not blindly supporting Sata. Hez not sounding any different from what he has always been. This man promised to sacrifice his life for Zambia’s democracy and not for Sata. Take time to know the 2 years life of this man prior to Sata’s election and you’ll know he has always been on the road to Damascus with the right conviction.

  15. Father bwalya stop crying like a baby, you campaigned for SATA going to the extent of killing innocent chickens in public now you are danced to your own drums.UKWA is not taking us anywhere, he doesn’t even know where to start from.

  16. It’s true Sata should watch or read what is in the newspapers and radio and should know how leaders have short lived their presidency because of turning a blind eye and deaf ears to what is being said, and we seem to go through the same road where either the president is just stubborn or advisers are not there and equally words falling on deaf ears…..what is wrong with African politics…… I am PF supporter but this need to be corrected ASAP I feel this is MMD same old road of leardership

  17. ‘father’ Bwalya, I m glad you back again with preaching the ‘gospel truth’. Where have you been, or did the ‘anointing’ leave you?

  18. For the first time Frank Bwalya and many of us have a convergence on President Sata’s unpresidential conduct. The man is allergic to independent justice system, democracy and professionalism. His is a scheme to instill fear in his Ministers, panels of illegal commissions he is setting-up with impunity and without plan. He is belaboring to build a personality cult synonymous with worst dictators where everything should be as i wish.

I beat you, Sebastian Zulu must start preparing for termination from this regime because a letter of his firing has already prepared. Professionals do not have a day in this regime but cheerleaders. This is why smart Zambian professionals keep alienating this unsymmetrical regime because its too unpredictable and lacking a systemic approach.

  19. Of course, the corruption fight is targetted. If the outcomed of a COI is not in line with what he wants, then it’s total rubbish. On the other hand, if it matches what he wants, then it’s an excellent report. Michael Sata is not fit to be president.

  20. In line with his premeditated mindset, President Sata wants everyone criminalized regardless of facts. People have to be professional and realize that everyone is accountable for their actions. Anyway, who wants to be left alone in the world battling for the wrong decisions made in the era of tyranny that wanted appeased at all cost regardless? The dictator may long be gone but an open society with open World Governance system where democracy movements never blinks on schemes of tyranny and reversal politics of doom will have all material facts to persecute past complicit. Observe professionalism and reject short-living tyrannical push.

  21. MCS needs to appreciate the fact that he is presidednt for even Nevers Mumba. All Zambians need to be embraced by the President in office. What does a boss benefit from tomenting subordinates?

  22. Yes father Bwalya is a man of God he is not a respector of man but commends and critisizes anybody that makes him a man of truth.Keep it up man of God.

  23. Labouring the obvious. Well, maybe not,as he has brought a whole new meaning to the parable of the prodigal son in the scripture. Its now PPP i.e. the Parable of the Prodigal Priest.

  24. Sata effectively acquited Dora by calling Sebastian Zulu’s findings useless. It shows that the President had a predetermined outcome. Wynter Kabimba passed with fying colours because he worke from the answer towards the perceived problem thereby satisfying his master’s voice. The conclusion is that all these commissions are shams and waste of government’s meagre resources. Someone must be held accountable for instituting these commissions at such a cost. If Sata has information about Dora, why not go to the courts instead of lining his friends pockets with millions through these useless commissions? If Sebastian had an integrity and pride, he would resign immediately for being publicly called useless minister by a grade 2. Please 2016 come quickly.

    • Dear Pak Koris,Thanks for your comment! I heard you are not free to join the Nusantara Outing in Lombok. Are you still coenidsr joining the PSA Convention in Colorado in Sept?Best regards,

  25. Normally this guy is a nut case, but here at least he makes some sense….. by stating the obvious.

And in other news, Fr. Bwalia disclosed that the sky is blue, water is wet, and most rocks are very hard.

  26. President Sata’s sins and dangerous incompetence in Nkwazi House will never be on the head of Frank Bwalya but M’membe and legion of dependent unpatriotic cadres cheer-leading doom and national ruins. He has timely washed his hands from  Sata’s era of consequential lamentable failure.

  27. When elephants fight its the glasses which suffers, Bwalya is 100% right wen you support someone n after that person succeded & start doing wrong things the best thing to do is confront him to make me go to right way. supporting some one does not mean that you expect evry thing to be as good as we you wanted it be. kindly leave the man alone Sata his jst the impefect human being live evry body else!!!! Lets pray for him………………… thanks God bless zambian leadership!!!!!

    • Thanks may God bless u.you know pipo do not know what is good on earth.Let us pray for the president pls.pipo shud offer solutions n not critics.go Sata go man of action……

  28. The meaning of the adjective, ‘useless’ simply describes somnething not useful and not an affront!

Go ahead Shikulu presido, king cobra, just continue spitting at any one who’s not doing work as expected and also anyone trying to laze and play around!

  29. That’s rich coming from a fellow lunatic? Talk about the kettle calling the pot black! Both Ukwa and Fr Frank are mental cases who should be confined to Chainama.

  30. Even a blind person could see clearly that there was something messy, foolish, in the corrupt sale of Zamtel. The Commission of Enquiry are just set in order to avoid short cuts in the investigations, dealing, and execution of this matter at hand. Silly-ya, ukose nokukosa!!

  31. I support Fr. Bwalya because he’s not a boot licker and he calls a spade a spade and not a big spoon!

  32. It does not need an experienced Sangoma to figure out that Sata’s presidency, either by death or impeachment, will be the shortest lived one in the entire Southern Africa region. It was disheartening to see a grown up man like Seb Zulu have his product dubbed useless before the entire world media. To me, this is the only predictable drift to Sata’s erratic behaviour, he will first embarass you in public before firing you, remember IG Dr Malama? There also has to be something mentally flawed with any person willing to save in such a lunatic’s government, It’s like taking an option to sit on a pointed pin, for sure one shall arise.

  33. **== most of the commentators here appear to suffer from some strange mentally incapacitating desease that makes them fail to analyse issues, nevertheless only nenani banda, pixxy n kapenta nkwangwa are reasonsble n my hands clapping for u. HEMCS has opened the presidence n want people to respect n not rever it to the extent where it becomes worshipped, even ministers shud be rebuked if they act fun.

    • I dont know how far you went in political studies or even civic education, however cabinet meetings and such fora are also meant for such ‘rebukes’ to happen behind closed doors. It is assumed that you know about ‘collective and ministerial responsibility’. MCS and his team are supposed to speak with one voice at least to the public and the world. If one is opposed to the concensus after battling it out and being rebuked BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, then one can resign or be relieved (and then perhaps openly rebuked after that, if necessary). this is not a classroom but a govt which should engender ours and the worlds confidence in itself and its team leaders!

  34. Pixxy @ 20, A personality that you describe where we’re expected to figure out when the man is serious and when he isn’t is very difficult for the majority of the people of the world to do. When a head of any state makes a public statement (with media presence), the whole world can listen in. This is why a head of state is supposed to be taken seriously at all times.

  35. How can presidential advisors predict then next evidence of insanity that will spew from the president’s mouth?  Advisors can only advise if their views are sought.  They cannot predict all instances of incompetence that their employer will reveal every time he opens his mouth.  Faza Walya is just crooked and tribalistic.  He should just admit that we have an incompetent person in Sata House.

  36. I wonder if your president had time to even read the report before he made those comments! This clearly tells us how dogmatic this man is……….

  37. When SATA is out of power, he will need to be probed on the many ABUSES of power that he has conducted in his 7 months of misrule.
He has waisted resources on the uncalled for commisions of the so-called ‘enquiry’ which simply means date-stamp of SATA’s mind.
The many blunders of decisions and reversals on almost all issues, including change of Govt Ministries and reversing them back – costing the govt huge sums of tax payers money.
And amazing that NGOs have all been bewitched by the snake spirit and have all become mouth piece of SATA. Even Goodwell Lungu of TIZ has become goodwill of SATA championing Sata’s wrongs and endorsing them.
When SATA is out of office he needs to answer these wrongs he has conducted, in fact just 7 months has produced enough wrongs to convict him.

  38. #6 Whoever told you that confession iz done on Sunday? The good thingz (and this iz one of them) that Father Bwalya haz said and done out-weigh the bad onez (if there are any), by far. Thing iz nice people like “MMD Chief Bootlicker” sometimez chooze what to term “good” depending on the swing of the pendulum.

  39. Imagine the length you went in support of SATA. I really simpathise with you, had you known as I knew you were not going to sacrifice that much, would you Father?

  40. Faza Walya you are the only dull “Father” I know. You have a very short memory and cannot keep a trail of insults, inconsistency, luck of principle, dictatorial tendencies and all sorts of questionable traits Sata is known for even before becoming President. Instead you managed to find all sorts of insults against RB whatever your motive. If you managed to ignore Sata’s weaknesses before he became President, live with it just like The Post is doing. Don’t sound wise when you know nothing will change and you must be the last person to criticise Sata. We are not stupid you Hypocrite!!!. Ata……!!!!!

  41. Zambians are just waking up to the fact that they voted in a buffoon in State House. The youth of this country must stand behind young leaders who can lead the country to prosperity. In the mean time buckle up for a rough ride and more mediocrity.

  42. Fr is right. A report can not be useless unless it is full of lies in which case the commissioners should be arrested for getting money by false prentence. So what is the way forward for the report? What about the hearsies bought in the MMD era? We heard some corruption allegations.

  43. This man is just pretending to be criticising his bululu. Tomorrow he will be full of praises. Just another turd. Ata.

  44. @Noel, He knew, Chanda Chiimba the iii said was on TV talking about it. We chose not to listen. Now lets live with it.

  45. Word Fr Bwalya…for the first time you’ve talked sense,Sata’s mental illness it’s very contiguous like cholera, stay away from him now, because you already had diarrhoea..anyway continue spreading the Good news, that’s your job!!!

  46. MMD CHIEF BOOTLICKER like you name says you are a bootlicker and cannot see that some people have objective opinions on the affairs on the nation and criticized MMD because they were corrupt. PF at the time had not been tested. Now that PF is in power it’s imperative that the well meaning Zambians like Father Bwalya who criticized MMD and supported PF should now start scrutinizing PF government and to check how they are managing affairs of the country. Father Bwalya is in order to do this because he is not PF bootlicker in the first place but a concerned Zambian who wants the best for Mother Zambia.

  47. MMD CHIEF BOOTLICKER don’t tell me that you want us to have MMD back because of the teething problems PF is facing at the moment. As far as I see things PF are a better devil at the moment. MMD were criminals and looters who should rot in hell and should never be allowed near any form of power, actually they should not be associated with any word with a ‘P’ in it. After PF we will be looking to have a new juvenile government. PF is there to just do the groundwork. Zambia is on the MOVE and we will all be a part of it.

  48. As an MMD BOOTLICKER I expect you to be confused and confusion will be a part of you for a long time to come. I bet you wake up each day and can’t believe MMD is out of power. Give over because you now have to live with the fact that MMD is finished and will never be at the helm of power ever in Zambia (may be if they go to another country to seek greener pastures they might be accepted, e.g. RSA, they might have a chance there). In Zambia they are finished. UNIP has a better chance to bounce back than MMD, that’s how bad things are!

  49. How do you tell you have a leader in someone? one of the treats of a good leader is being calm and collected at most of the times and my president is far from that. Now what experience does my president has which is helping this nation, other than shorting at people freely like he is managing his family affairs who he orders to all gathering and eat ubwali for lunch. This is a nation he is running PF please inform my president that statements from him now means more than when he was just heading ka temba at farmers’ house or his PF.

  50. At his age the cobra can not be tamed, regardless of any efforts to tame it.You can’t straighten a sweet potatoe or else you will break it.

  51. I would rather father bwalya does nt use ‘father’ and find a substitute coz when s1 mks a mistake u dont reprimand to the extend of going to the media – for a strong christian that is – lest you be tempted into sin yourself. Come out open that you want 2stand for presidency like did Nervous Mumba abandoning ‘Zambia Shall Be Free’ whatever Ministry and not removing what is in your friend’s eye before your remove the log ‘father’ in yours.
