Movement for Multi Party Democracy president Dr. Nevers Mumba has said that the economic development in the MMD’s regime can be attributed to President Michael Sata’s aggressive criticism while in opposition.

Dr. Mumba said that the Patriotic Front leader while in opposition provided much needed checks and balances to the Rupiah Banda administration.

He said that he should not be condemned to criticise government because the Patriotic Front leader did the same while in opposition.

Dr. Mumba said that it is shocking that some stakeholders are attacking him that when he comments on the running of the government.

Dr. Mumba said that he does not practice politics of name calling owing to his Christianity background.

Speaking live on the National Broadcaster this morning, Dr. Mumba said that he will remain committed in ensuring that the Patriotic Front government leads to the people’s expectations.

  1. Doc, it will just be fair for you to lay down your planned come back strategy than just mere talk. Explain your MMD Manifesto than these political talks. Its common sense that is what is expected off. Please walk us through your Vision in relation to the MMD manifesto. Please!!!!!

  2. Yeah right! Zed politicians seem to have run out of creative things to say. Some re-cycled lies just like themselves. PLEASE!

  3. THANK YOU DR. MUMBA, WHAT’S YOUR COMMENT ON CORRUPT MMD OFFICIALS FACING COURTS OF LAW? ARE YOU GOING TO CONTINUE DINNING WITH THEM AND PRETEND THEY ARE FALSELY ACCUSED? THE LIATOZ, SILYERS…

ARE YOU GOING TO TELL THE NATION MMD’S SOURCE OF CAMPAIGN FUNDS? WHAT WILL YOU DO TO RB WHEN YOU ESTABLISH THAT IT WAS NOT CLEAN MONEY? HELP US MAN OF GOD WE ARE DEPENDING ON YOU TO CLEAN MMD.

  4. Nevers, just do your thing and dont follow MC’s footsteps;how are you going to convince the majority zambians through ifyakukonkelesha…grow up…ukukopakopa takwawama…you are just calling for your party’s downfall………..atase!!!!

    • Hi’s not coping he want to tell you the truth what sata did and icisoka cikalamba after the the term of office cikakakwa nokuposwa mungehena.

  5. Press on Dr Mumba. you are on course. believe you me, if elections were held 2day, the boat would sink. cant wait 4 zambia 2 be served!

  6. LELO LEO MWANA BA UPND EVEN THE NEW COMER DR NEVERS SOUNDS SENSEBLE THAN YR HH……COW DUNGS

  7. What is your point Nevers Mumba? You are now sounding like a broken record. People want to hear what MMD’s alternative policies are. I think this is the stupidity going around Zambia both in Zambia’s leaders and the general populace. The opposition is not there to provide checks and balances. The opposition is there to provide alternative policy directions. Providing checks and balances is like being a guard dog…and that doesn’t win you elections. Already Mumba is missing the point. Michael Sata saw that providing checks and balances didn’t win him elections…he changed the strategy and provided alternative policy visions: “More money into your pockets in 90 days..” And the Zambian populace were sleepy enough to take the bait and he won! You have to give Sata credit for that.

    • Two American volunteerz, huzband-26 and wife-25 died in when a light aircraft plunged into the Zambezi River in North-Western Province on Sunday.

  8. Dr. Mumba has a point this time around. Constructive opposition has a role to play in national development. We need a strong and united opposition and an understanding government to have a better Zambia.

  9. So what exactly is newsworthy about this charlatans rant? Where is the meat? Where is the substance? Just another loud mouthed empty head. Ukwa mark II. Hakainde for enlightened leadership! No more colourful worded nicopoomps. Zambia has been defiled alot by these uneducated and miseducated loud and empty tins.

  10. Was he speaking on the National Broadcaster (ZNBC)??. What of HH, when is he going to be given a chance?. I think alot has really changed since the PF took Office, because during the MMD reign an opposition party leader would not be given a time slot on ZNBC. Congrats PF

  11. Newspapers in Angola, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe are describing Sata as childish and/or clownish. This is the depth to which the country has sank. Very embarrassing indeed!

  12. I am so glad Nevers Sekwila Mumba is realising that only constructive criticism towards development policies will endear him to the masses.
There is need to ensure that he keeps this focus and does not become critical to the point of criticising the president when he has done something good. The country’s unemployment rates and need for infrustrature development especially roads has reached critical levels and need a conserted effort of all well meaning Zambians. Zambia needs long-term investment ventures to start having a positive impact on unemployment rates. There is need to cohesively plan with stakeholders development projects and control the uninhibited use of expatriates for jobs that can be done by Zambians.

  13. Thanx Timbukutu @#16, we need to hold politicians to their Party Manifestos than their word. Only way out to envisage their agenda and deliverables as promised in their charter through their Party Manifesto. Not these rhetorics and opinions!

  14. doc nevers mumba if you are reading please embrace this message i have for you:-
    1. Come up with a clear message on your priorities once you become president in line job creation (with a realistic and action oriented road map), social policies etc and begin to make that msge sink in the minds of zambians.
hope i have made my self clear.

  15. Of late some people have misconstrued that being antagonistic is equivalent to offering checks and balances. Opposition political parties have not yet given any position on some articles in the current draft constitution. They’re waiting for Kabimba and Scott to speak then they condemn. What’s the MMD position on the VP clause? They abolished theirs only to re-introduce 2 vice presidents! Please give some policy guidance than just talking about Sata’s mistakes. We’ll think you’re all the same. What’s your firm position on MMD members saving in PF govt? What’s your honest position on windfall tax? What’s your position on creation of districts? What’s your position on etc???

  16. let the PF get congetsed in Luapula..Norther,Muchinga & CB..mwawa bamabala,..you will share ..come by elections..hahahaha

  17. #13 flag suspended judge.. Some young missionary white couple died mu Zambezi river,ka plane crush. SAD INDEED, MTSRIP.

  18. @1,17 and 22 Rod, I hear you. What has Mumba said to have him compared with what HH has been doing in terms of checks and balances??? When we say some people only see sense in their tribe’s men all hell break loose. So naive indeed. God help us.

  19. Has HH congratulated Nevers Mumba on his winning the MMD presidency?Iam sure he is very worried now.Iam sure he wishes cows can be given voters cards and vote for him!!

  20. #26 AYATOLLAH KHOMENEIYI, U A SPOT ON. LOOK AT HH, THE CHAP HAS NOTHING TO OFFER APART FROM NOISE MAKING,EVEN HIS SYNCOPHANTS ARE BUSY BLOGGIN TRASH DAY IN OUT. THE OPPOSITION CANT OFFER ALTERNATIVE IDEAS. I LAUGH A LOT WHEN I RECALL THE 2011 CAMPAIGNS; HH BECAME BRUCE LEE WHILE DOUBLING THAT WITH IMIMBULU DANCING ANTICS.

  21. 2016 is a long way off. PF has to perform or else the opposition will win 2016 elections. MMD has a good chance of bouncing back. Especially under Nevers Mumba. It is not likely that Sata will stand at 2016 due to age, at least.
