The Non Governmental Organization Coordinating Council (NGOCC) board chairperson Beatrice Grillo says the Patriotic Front will be in trouble if it does not deliver a people-driven constitution.
And Mrs. Grillo has appealed to the technical committee drafting the country%u2019s constitution to consider adjusting the extension of the debate on the draft constitution to 30 days and not 50 days.
Speaking at a media conference, Mrs. Grillo says it welcomes the extension of the consultative process because it will be an opportunity for the technical committee to produce copies of the draft constitution in various local languages but notes that the extension of 50 days is too much.
She however expressed confidence that the country will have a good document because the technical committee drafting it has shown commitment.

this is one of the major campaign promises some of us voted these people for and if they fail to give us what we want as a people, what we have craved for the last 20years then they de-campaign them selves for 2016 and we will go all out to ensure they leave office like we did to MMD.
Remember Zambians are dealing with CHIMBWI NO PLAN. Duped Zambians promising to deliver a new constitution within 90 days, no plan we are 250 plus days. Draft constitution was put to the public domain for debate for 30 days, now 50 days, Mr Sata and Kabimba have ruled out dual citizenship and vice president running mate respectively. This is what PF mena when they talk of people driven constitution. It is unacceptable for NGOCC to see this abuse being commited by these two and issue an arm chair warning to PF. Remember the premise on which PF came to power, non of their words have been kept that prompts them to be without plan. NGOCC need to engange actively with PF govt to hnour their words. We now all know PF govt is fast losing general public trust with their perfomance so far.

The committee should have also considered giving the draft constitution as an assignment to law students
This consultation is just a money minting scheme. Just draw up the bloody constitution and then people will be ‘consulted’ through a referendum.
