Herve Renard says he and two of his players are hoping Zambia will win more awards on Thursday when they travel to Ghana for the 2012 CAF awards gala.
This is after Christopher Katongo, who was snubbed for the 2012 CAF player award, was on Monday announced winner of the 2012 BBC Player of the Year award.
Renard is in line for the CAF coach of the year award while Rainford Kalaba and Stopilla Sunzu are vying for the CAF African based player of the year award.
Zambia is also favourite for the 2012 team of the year award.
“I leave tomorrow (Tuesday) for Ghana with Stopilla Sunzu and Rainford Kalaba to try and get something,” Renard said on Monday.
“We will see if we are lucky.”
The trio are expected to fly back immediately after the awards ceremony for a friendly commitment away to Tanzania this Saturday in Dar-es-Salaam.
We wish you well.Â
Be safe, and God bless you.
God bless you guys, You have done us proud indeed. I’m so optimistic that the 3 of you guys will get what you deserve from Ghana albeit the many hurdles the west African Countries will present.
good luck guys
Please HR concentrate of training and preps for the up-coming friendlies and the AFCON 2013 next month…what type of manager is this? Leave the off the pitch ceremonies to those FAZ empty suits….
and i quote ” of training and preps..” kaya mama chizungu chivuta
Iwe Jay Jay, HR is a nominee and that’s why he is traveling to attend the ceremony. I am sure he has a schedule for ‘training and preps’.
@supersub007- Thank you very much for spotting that now where is your wise contribution.
@TC – We are paying HR a lot of money and he doesn’t necessarily have to be there.
You are already winners! I mean all 3 of you.
But I wonder why Chamanga and Mweene were not nominated.
All shall be well with you, this is our year. God bless you.
What did Chamanga do? Did you watch AFCON? Mweene yes! I agree with jay jay why should we give credence to such useless ceremonies which recognise one’s achievements made in Europe at the expense AFCON? How else would those empty heads at CAF drop Chris for such as Song whose national team was not even at the AFCON. Time is running out for those west African biased corrupt and inept managers starting with corrupt senegalese president. He had the opportunity to cleanse the dented name of ama sene but the chap has lamentably failed.
Do your thing and make us pround Good lucky Team Zambia
THEY MAY TRY TO DAMPEN YOUR SPIRITS BY NOT GIVING YOU THOSE AWARDS BUT KNOW THAT YOU ARE THE BEST SO FAR. FOCUS ON WORLD CUP NOW.
Chamanga isn’t fit to play for zambia please
Renard and Sunzu will be winners not forgetting Zambia as the team of the year…. Go Zambia go and congrats Chris, twas good seeing you challenge CAF on BBC last nite.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SEE IF JAY JAY EVER REASONS.
