Former Works and Supply Minister Mike Mulongoti has advised President Michael Sata to break his silence on the ongoing squabbles in the ruling party.

Speaking in an interview with Qfm news, Mr. Mulongoti says President Sata must clearly state his stance on the demands by PF cadres to have Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda expelled from the party.

Mr. Mulongoti notes that it is unfair for PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba to harass a leader who has been given the mandate to serve by thousands of electorates.

He has also challenged President Sata to hold a press conference where he should address the many pending issues in the country.

Mr. Mulongoti says the continued silence by the President is causing anxiety in the Zambians as a number of questions on the governance system remain unanswered.

  1. Sense Mudala!!yangu i can’t believe that I am Akichaleh agreeing with uyu umu Fyashi…kwena ichalo chino cha fi papusho…and in any case where is a certain Fr.Frank Bwalya..he needs to start flashing ma red card ee ee where is his voice?-ama zee aya yachila-he was very vocal during RBs tenure!

  2. i miss RB, am sorry i did not vote for you Sir, but know that you are a hero….. you only know what you had when its gone they say….. these Pathetic Fellows are something else, 2016 come soon.

  3. Just address your problems, Mulongoti. The big man has resorted to keeping quite whilst working hard in silence. Still water is deeper and fast running water is shallow. He has a brain for major issues of National Development. Do not force to be speaking anyhow like a parrot. He needs to think through things because his decisions are very important for the country. Lubinda has his own issues, he is not an angel! Zambia has been going own for many year without Lubinda in govt. He is just one replaceable man like anyone else. If he does not conform to norms he should not be a road block. We have many unutilized Zambian who have not yet been seen in govt.
If you are referring to opposition petty squables, thats not so much the state of nation. Let them just do their homework until 2016.

    • What chances have we got if the President is “still thinking” after 15months in Govt?

    • Floyd xsay, happy will I be one day when you decide to pull your head out of your butt and smell the coffee. Am impressed that people with functioning brains and objectivity who where ardent supporters of the non-entity in statehouse have seen that we are going nowhere and are voicing their concerns. But you my friend, if you were Moslem, would be an extremist, hard-headed, brainwashed and dull beyond any human logic.

  4. in my current state of mind.myself Chikala cannot accept a job in the PF government. My CV is very organized and would not want to tarnish it by working with/for PF.
The worst government in my 52 years life in Zambia.
Those who supported Permanent Fools (PF) are very disappointed but they can not open their mouths in shame. My advice is talk about this monster you created became it is now eating you up.If you think you should give them more time, that is an illusion as it is evident that they have failed and nothing will improve for the better.

  5. @4 Floyd Chitalu. Motormouth working in silence, since when? Things are not alright with the current occupant of the Colonial Governor’s mansion! Who knows Kabimba or Fred the Pest is already running the show as President.

  6. Boring!!!!!!!!! Here is what we should be debating:

Billions illegally taken out of Zambia over past decade, shows report
    18 Dec 2012 15:29 – Guardian Reporter

Campaigners say most of the illegally siphoned money ends up in offshore banks and tax havens and can be traced to mining multinationals.

US-based group Global Financial Integrity blamed “crime, corruption and tax evasion” for the loss of $8.8-billion from the resource-rich country. The lost money, most of which can be traced to multinational copper mining operations, is equivalent to almost half of Zambia’s GDP.

  7. “Zambia’s GDP was $19.3-billion in 2011. Its per capita GDP was $1 413. Its government collected a total of $4.3-billion revenue. It can’t afford to be haemorrhaging illicit capital in such staggering amounts.”

Zambia’s deputy finance minister, Miles Sampa, said the report highlighted “what we have always been saying with regard to tax avoidance and income leakages in general”.

  8. @flyod chitalu, ati “he has resorted to keeping quiet while working hard” How do you know he is working hard? Another gallable Zambia, I bet you are one of those people who voted for him thus putting the country in the current shiite state it’s in. His ministers are fighting dont you think he should address this matter as soon as possible? People are in doubt, don’t you think he should address the nation to give his people hope? He is just issueing statements through a spokesman. I reckon the man is incapable of delivering a presidential address capable of driving the masses on. Pathetic Fools

    • No wonder you are a Mad Max. You only see others as fools because you are mad! is that so. The people you are insulting are your parents. Sit with them and you will realise how wise they are. Unless you are really mad, your language when criticizing is not worth coming from you, for I know you are a decent man. Treat other as you would want them treat you. Mad Max, would you like them to be calling you a pathetic fool, really?

  9. This is indeed very painful for me. Very very painful and it has taken me a lot of pride to have to agree with this leach Mulongoti who I hated so much. I think this time he is right and I just have to swallow my pride and agree with him. Not an easy thing.

The president needs to face the nation and answer real questions from journalists. All the press statements being issued by Fred Membe through Chellah are totally out of touch with the reality on the ground. The country needs real answers to real issues that are boiling over. You can’t leave Membe run the country through his boys. We need real leadership not those hollow press statements

    • Well done Observer,I also dislike this man with a passion and think he one of those politicians that our country can do without. But we got to call a spade a spade, he is absolutely right on this one. Let the president address the nation.

  10. It is terrible practice by the mining companies indeed. The problem is we know the mines steal from Zambia a lot but we have not done well to curb this trend. (1) the Zambian executive employees in the mines are in the fore front of helping this trend, they have been nicely and cleverly compromised. (2) the govt have not done much with regard to profits from the mines, capital flight, and taxation. (3) Our govt official fail to read the small print in the contracts they sign. I wish we could emulate Botswana. They have Diamonds, the way they guard that wealth – so jealously indeed, why can’t we on copper and other mineral resources. Why are we so porous in guarding our mineral resources, our wealth? Why have we failed to be greedy, mean, protective, defensive of our mineral wealth?

  11. Abakali tabalandalanda. So tata ba Mulongoti nemwe mwikalefye tondolo noti mulebwatabwatafye kwati mwebo ifyo mulelanda efikwete amano.

  12. Mulongoti jobless , in hunger, no school, it’s January against . I can’t steal from where. My man be a robber period and don’t wait for Sata to employe u. Man U are too old now. Thanks

  13. Sadly Mr Mulongoti is not a member of PF and therefore not in a position to comment on their squabbles. Given the same situation, I too would have got involved publicly with cadres, if I were president. There seems to be a contest or dispute going on between Muyunda and Kabimba, which needs to be quelled quietly and with civility. Muyunda is right to stay focussed on the broader picture. Kabimba needs to calm down, lest he gets knocked off the perch. Power intoxicates and corrupts, which would seem to be the case with him. He has the potential to become president after MCS, but he has to show maturity and strategic vision. Democratic norms have to be understood and followed, even by him. Cadres have no place in a democracy. I urge the president to stay out, or discipline Kabimba.

  15. It is Kabimba, as PF secretary general who should stop the witch hunting and call off the mobs. PF is in government and not in opposition. We want the noise and nonsense to stop and things to be done. So far, I like what I see, although Zambian small businesses are still struggling to survive. Corruption in organisation like National Housing Authority still continues unabated, through contracts to Chinese who give kickbacks, while local companies like Zinitz Ltd in Ndola struggle to get anything. These are the issues Mr. Mulongoti should champion. Visit these small businesses and then present their cases for action. It is time to push for local empowerment and not meaningless verbal diarrhoea.

  16. Mr mulongoti why cant you remain quity with your dead political party,do not tell our president wat to do.and let me tell u PF does not hav squabbles as you put it.the part is very intact than ever before.viva PF

  17. I agree with Floyd Mutale. President Sata is doing a commendable job. You have four years plus few months to achieve your goals Mr. President, hence need to work hard and not waste time to talk like Mr. Mulongoti who changes his goal post. Let People talk, call you all sorts of names but just do the right thing because by the end of the day, its us people who will decide. Late President Mwanawasa was called all sorts of names but because of what he was doing we all called him an Angel. Honestly, i was one of the people who did not like the late President Mwanawasa when he was just elected although thru rigging but i came to like him. We don’t want people like RB.
    Regards

  18. I thought Mulongoti had formed a political party and should now be wooing members to join his party rather than talking about PF

  19. Mulongoti ,ind your own business, Sata and the PF have not the time to discuss their squabbles in the media, if you and the MMD kept your squabbles in the bedroom, you would have been better off today. What has the squabbles in PF got to do with non members like Mulongoti anyway? Mulongoti is just too frustrated to say the least!

    • Are the PF squabbles in the bedroom? Since when was it acceptable to have government ministers squabbling in public? Is normal for party cadres to threaten a govt minister and the President who appointed him to be mute? Honestly, you lot should grow up! The country is in the wrong hands!

  20. PIPI BOY, SATA IS NOT LIKE YOU. HE WEIGHS THE SITUATION FIRST BEFORE ACTING. AND IN THE PROCESS OF WEIGHING THE SITU. HE GIVES A LONG ROPE TO CONCERNED PARTIES TO HANG THEMSELVES. WHEN HE TALKS EVERYTHING IS THERE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE. SO, DON’T FALSE SATA TO PREMATURELY SAY SOMETHING BEFORE HE COLLECTS ENOUGH INFORMATION. I AM PERSONALLY NOT A FAN OF KABIMBA. BUT THE IDEA OF A WELL PLACED MINISTER LEAKING INFO TO THE OPPOSITION IS ABSOLUTELY INTOLERABLE. IF THAT’S WHAT HE HAS BEEN DOING, EVEN IF HE WAS MASSIVELY ELECTED BY PEOPLE (ON PF TICKET).

  21. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO PIPE BOY IS TO QUICKLY FORM UP YOUR PARTY AS YOU HAVE ALREADY PROMISED THE PEOPLE AND PUT UP CREDIBLE OPPOSITION. THIS IS BECAUSE AS AT NOW THERE IS NO OPPOSITION IN ZAMBIA. THE OPPOSITION PARTIES HAVE INVALIDATED THEMSELVES BY CONCENTRATING ON STUPIDITY AS OPPOSED TO REAL ISSUES- THEY ARE STILL NURSING THEIR WOUNDS OF DEFEAT.

  22. Sata never works in silence. He is silent because he is plotting some very big action up his sleeve. Most snakes, Cobras especially, do this. However Mulongoti is an attention seeker who like a fly is always at the King’s feast so as to grab some limelight. Missing RB someone  says? People always miss the past glorifying it in the process. This is just to mentally escape the present.

  23. Those are not important issues it’s an internal affairs .Its not worth for the President to hold a press conference at this time the President is working and we salute him for that. What has come out of those Press conferences the Opposion have been having ? Nothing time will there but not now.

  24. Sense at last from the opposition…keep pressing him for a press conference these are issues are affecting national development!!

  25. Why speak for a party you don’t belong to? Party squabbles are not of national interest, they are party issues and should be discussed at party level. The President should be commenting on national issues not party issues!!. Mulongoti should know that in multi- democracy there is separation of party and government. Zambian opposition politicians should learn to keep quiet on trivial issues, this habit of commenting on anything concerning the PF just exposes how little they know and understand Zambians. Mulongoti will never have a strong following, he lacks the  charisma to woo people. HH lacks public communication skills, he says wrong things at the wrong time and wrong place. NAREP will never amount to anything, it started on the low, it will remain a brief case political party.

  26. Where 2 or 3 are gathered you expect differences of opinions. It would be unwise to expect the president to be getting involved and giving directives everytime there are squabbles.Sometimes its better to let people tire themselves out.Look at the squbbles between GBM and Kabimba, the 2 now know each other well, the president allowed them to speak their minds out to each other and they are now tired. All those in leadership are adults capable of sorting out their differences.

  27. mulongoti as much as you may be right, please concentrate on may be good governance and poverty reduction strategies..not PF internal issues.

  28. PF maggots exhibiting their shallowness in public again ! Your st.upid cadre comrades want to hound the Foreign Minister out of Office on the instigation of the Justice Minister , and you want to pretend this normal! Please take those ugly heads of yours out of your backsides!

  29. Mulongoti is still talking? Wat type of a person is this? How do u bring the issue of a party? Are u in PF? Mulongoti, are u ok in your head?

  30. Wynter. Please squeeze Mulongoti till he stops ranting. Unleash ZRA on him, or detain him. Him and Lubinda need to be squeezed hard. it will be a good lesson to many Zambians. Squeeze them

  31. Being quiet is not necessarily synonymous with ” working hard in the background “. For how long is a President going to govern through his Press assistant’s crafted statements? He needs to show himself before the nation and make REAL policy statements. He needs to be subjected to scrutiny and questioning over matters of public interest. I don’t care much about the internal PF party turmoil. Sata should address the nation as its President and spell out whatever vision he has. There is nothing ” Cobra ” about perpetually residing in a tortoise like shell – showing your head only occasionally with knee jerk reactions and then slithering back in again. From time to time he wakes up from a ‘district creating dream or reshuffling urge’, and carries it out mechanically.

  32. Atase bane, always its bo bo bo bo like imbwa. Why pocking your stinking nose in the party which you do not belong…atase…Shaaa.

Peace and Prosperity to mother Zambia.
