Konkola Blades Lose To DRC side Don Bosco

Konkola Blades on Saturday began their two-match DR Congo tour with a loss to Don Bosco in Lubumbashi.

DR Congo’s 2013 Confederation Cup representatives beat Blades 2-0.

Chico Ushindi and Jonathan Merikani were on target for Don Bosco in the 60th and 80yj minutes.

Blades today face TP Mazembe in the final warm-up game.

Meanwhile, Mazembe reports on its website that it is expecting it DR Congo and Zambia players from the 2013 AFCON Cup to report to camp on February 11.

Both teams were ejected from the tournament in the preliminary group stage on January 29.

The Zambian players expected back for pre-season training are Rainford Kalaba, Francis Kasonde, Nathan Sinkala and Jonas Sakuwaha.

However, Mazembe did not state when AWOL defender Stopilla Sunzu would return.

Sunzu is reportedly holed up in England trying to tie up a deal without Mazembe’s blessings.

maybe stupid is a strong word to use for Sunzu. he is young, inexperienced and maybe not as educated as you are, so agents are taking advantage of him. this is where our players need guidance from former professionals like Kalusha Bwalya and all those who have gone into hiding (Charles Musonda, Stone Nyirenda, etc). if you recall, we also had a situation where the late Webby Chikababala (MHSRIP) was duped into signing two contracts with 2 different clubs in Europe and FIFA banned him for life. he was extremely talented and could have reached heights than Kalu. Somebody needs to guide and mentor the boy.

No wonder Zambia did not Get past the 1st round, some players were not committed. Even Kalaba was busy negotiaing with Orlando Pirates.

Are zambian teams becoming punching bags of Congolese clubs. Why do zambian clubs fail to beat their congolese counterparts. Are zambian football clubs not good enough?
