President Michael Sata has urged MMD president Pastor Nevers Mumba to halt his ill-advised and misplaced attacks on the country’s judiciary.

The President said Pastor Mumba must realise that by launching irrational verbal attacks on the judiciary, he is petitioning his own competence as a leader.

“His recent reckless and bankrupt view tells it all,” he said.

“I would also like to advise him that as somebody who aspires to lead this country, he must learn to respect the judiciary.”

President Sata described Pastor Mumba’s attacks on the judiciary and the Supreme Court in particular as unfortunate but not surprising.

“Pastor Mumba has distinguished himself as an inconsistent clergyman who is comfortable supporting wrong things as long as it rewards him the possibility of personal sustenance,” President Sata said.

“Regrettable as it might be, Pastor Mumba appears to be a mouth for hire. How can a clergyman denounce the judiciary for standing up against corruption? His complaint that the opposition and the MMD are being targeted by the judiciary is ridiculous.”

The Head of State said the embattled MMD leader must concentrate on resolving the internal problems facing the former ruling party rather than attacking the judiciary.

“Problems can’t be solved by blaming others. Lies and noise cannot mitigate on his incompetence. Let Pastor Mumba look at himself and be honest for a change,” the President said.

“I would also like to advise him that as somebody who aspires to lead this country, he must learn to respect the judiciary.”

  1. I wish Sata could just speak to us directly than let George Chellah craft these cheap and immature press statements.

Now this Chellah boy has forgotten it is his boss who does not actually respect the Judiciary. How many court orders and court advise has he respected. Clearly shows that Chellah is not smart to craft this statement

    • Sata is who he is. You have to work with him on his level or be completely frustrated. Good Luck!!

    • Ka Chellah has npo respect to Pastor Never Mumba, I don’t know why that boy don’t like him at all. Umwaiche alitumpa, and his Uncle-in-law Sata can’t do anything to stop the chap.

    • George Chellah should do President Michael Sata a favour whenever he responds to comments made by opposition.I listened to Nervous Mumba’s speech on Radio Phoenix. The points he raised about Acting Justice Lombe Chibesakunda are not only supported by the majority Zambian, but also the Supreme Law of this Nation. The Select Commitee of Parliament equally threw out her quest for appointment.George Chellah should have merely addressed this position.Making crude personal attacks on President Mumba does not solve the problem.
President Sata should merely withdraw Madam Chibesakunda’s name and replace it with Madam Irene Mambilima’s name as her position on the bench is that of Deputy Chief Justice.

  2. Too many public statements. Cant the president speak to the nation, like the US president any place, any-time anywhere

Are the statements made by Mr Chellah and rub by the president, or does Mr Chellah speak t the president privately and send these, press statements?

How do they work in your country?

    Thanks

  3. Look who is talking? How I wish we had a vaccine for stupidity. Sata please it is you and your minions who have been on a campaign of vilifying the Judiciary. You have hounded out supreme court justices and replaced them with your tribeswomen. You also appointed a kangaroo tribunal headed by a foreigner to fix the judges who ruled against the mafia that controls you.

    • It is better to be stupid than foolish. Because to be stupid implies that you have brains, You Gonca and your calves are FO.O.L.I.S.H!

    • Hahahaha! Vaccine for stupidity! Neat observation. Unfortunately we have a clown in plot 1. He cant address the nation, simply because he’s not the man in charge! Sata is not in control of this nation, hence has no capacity to address it and spell out his vision!

    • In the absence of a living dead president, the post will be answering all you queries. It will be nice to see M’membe crooks in a cage or on firing squad.

  4. Why can’t the government lead the way by not disregarding the court rulings, such as the one involving RB? If they were not happy with High Court decision, they should have appealed to the Supreme Court. Full stop!

  5. Who was the English teacher of George Chellah? He/she must cringe everytime this lumpen issues a statement. Please leave Nevers Mumba alone -over the judiciary he is echoing the sentiments of 60% of Zambians(who didn’t vote for PF)..and whats this about respecting the judiciary?Pf goverment ignores court orders with impunity and Sata has been using the judiciary to protect his business and political allies.Thats why Chikopo is here, thats why Chibesakunda was appointed, thats why for the first time in Zambian history the Supreme court is passing fundamentally flawed judgments.

    • Teacher of English? Or an Englishman who taught George Chella the English language?

    • Both English teacher and teacher of English are correct. This is an old grade 7s argument. The truth is that we have French teachers who are not French speaking, we have mathematics teachers and we also have teachers of mathematics, we have history teachers and we can also call them teachers of history, if we like. The only problem is that when it comes to languages, the phrase French teacher or English teacher have two meanings. Either they could be thought of belonging to a language or teachers of the language. But what is important is to understand the context in which the communication is being said. So, in this situation who was Chellah’s English teacher? Is clear, the author wants to know who taught Chellah English, whether or not they were from England is not the focus.

  6. Surely ‘Vuvuzela Voice Mail’ Chella is so daft. He thinks Zambians are “Useful *****s”like he is.Everybody knows that Sata can not say what he writes on his behalf. It’s Sata who doesn’t respect the Judiciary by ignoring Court Orders, appointing un employable Foreign Judge in his own country, Malawi over respectable Zambian Judges.Chella be told that these monotonous State House Statements you continue to issue, won’t change what the majority Zambians think about your Ukwa the CNP.Too Late the Hero.Your image building with your Pay Master,Mmumembe won’t work this time around.

  7. Sata does not even read these statements by this boy Chella, stop fooling the docile Zambians and come out in the open and issue a proper presidential statement. All the other Presidents used to speak to the nation directly and not always use their spokesman. Why can’t Sata do the same? Even if he says things like “bunch of criminal” people will still understand him. We all know that sentence construction and grammar is a challenge for him so we know what to expect.

  8. Issued by the immature Zambian Acting President George Chellah. I have no time to read such rubbish by written by him.

  9. So why is Sata not submitting a different name to National Assembly because his choice of Chibesakunda was rejected a long time ago. I think it is the executive which is not respecting both the National Assembly and the Judiciary. If they respected the Judiciary they could have been respecting court orders!!

    • Lets not deny the PF government the privilege of receiving a full dose of the vaccine first….I’m not a fan of Mushota or Goncalves but they show much superior intelligence to most of the leaders in PF.

    • The engineer is another baboon in Australia. How does that feel? Do not take offence if you are ready to call others baboons. Okay!

  10. Vaccine against stupidity is what is needed for the President.

Judiciary?. The Judiciary ceased to be independent the day Chikopa came to Zambia and went to total malaise when Chibesakunda was appointed acting CJ.

Even a very dull person knows that the RB judgement was flawed. How can judgement be advisory. That was an advice and not a judgement.

  11. Mr president Sata & your government too do not respect the judiciary. The government has humiliated, mistreated & stepped on the rights of RB even when the court issued clear instructions to give back the passport to RB & allow him to travel outside Zambia. We can’t sit down & see human rights being taken away from RB. Your government cannot continue to hold RB on ransom for the ineffective, inefficient & incompetency of your government in producing evidence in court against RB if it has enough evidence. The government has no integrity regarding respecting court orders & human rights. I support PF in many issues, but in this regard I can’t.

  12. This is micky and the mice type of justice system we are experiencing in Zambia where the clueless government have burnt the book on the rule of law and replaced it with the law from the jungle or law from ubwendo. They switch off their phones when required by law to do something. They disobey the court judgements. Have planted a CJ at supreme court to pass judgements in their favour. What a travesty.

  13. ONLY IF THE PRESIDENT CAN REALIZE THAT LEADERSHIP IS ABOUT TOLERANCE AND BEING GOOD LISTENERS. WE WOULD NOT HAVE THIS CHEAP TALK IN OUR COUNTRY. TWO WRONGS HE??? AND MUMBA WILL NEVER DO RIGHT. THEY SHOULD RESPECT ZAMBIANS AND DO EVERYTHING TO THE INTEREST OF ZAMBIAN PEOPLE. NOT THE TWO? ONLY IF THE PRESIDENT CAN ALSO LEARN HOW TO TALK WITH RESPECT THAN CASTIGATE / SHOUT AT PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. IT IS REALLY EMBARRASSING.

  14. This site is now becoming an English class. Some of us log in to read the news so that we are updated with what is happening back home and to hear what other peoples views are on the matter. Guess what i find!! English lessons, ifwabupuba fwekafweka. You guys will not like me when i get annoyed

  15. look who is talking about the judiciary. One that does not even bother to appeal judgement from a lower court – he just says ignores it!!

  16. Mr. President, each time you attempt to conveniently confuse Nevers Mumba calling as a clergy man and that of his other choice as a politician, you betray yourself!

We are immediately reminded of an African colonial constable(Kanyangu or Kapaso) in Northern Rhodesia, who was also an informer to the colonialists against the freedom fighters. This constable switched jobs for a janitor at a railway station in London and today he’s the President of Zambia!

You see Mr. President, you don’t immediately start as Head of State, you begin as something else and by His grace (or a lot of Bufi as in your case ), you end up at Nkwazi House! So leave Never’s early calling alone!

  17. I would rather have Nevers Mumba in power than that dull uneducated Satan from Mpika!!!!! Chifumyeni puuuliizziiii, i can wait!!!!!!!

  18. Perhaps George Chellah should convey the pleasant news to his boss, to the effect that the current US President Obama and former President George Bush have converged on the African soil to demonstrate tenets of civilized democracy. The two Statesmen, representing Democrats and Republican parties, demonstrated their true western form of civilization by sharing a common platform to honour the dead in Tanzania. Behind the scenes, Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Bush were also engaged on a joint humanitarian mission. Will this ever happen in Zambia? Shame on the PF torturous regime!

  19. @Mphangwe. In Tanzania, Obama announced 2 initiatives where African countries ( some neighboring Zambia ) will benefit from a US$7 billion clean energy enhancement programme and another where customs, immigration and port facilities will be upgraded, to enable quick access to goods and services by countries involved.

In both cases, Zambia is conspicuously missing! Never mind, some minister said Zambia doesn’t care what the international community figure about her.

On the way to pariahness! Well done. Welcome Cuba, Palestine and Sudan. Courteous of Commandante Wynter Kabimba and SGT Kambwili.

  20. To: Chindakwanda-Galileo Galilei
    There are only two implications:
    i) You are tweet or
ii) Useful brainless ultra supporter which lacks understanding of spoken English.
    In which category you belong?

  21. Sata cannot speak. He has been advised not to hold press conference as he is on medication everytime. Pliz leave him alone! Mwe bantu mwashupa sana!

    • Are you saying he is an invalid? That is the more reason to leave office to pave way for a healthy president ! Zambia deserves much, much, much, better than this !

  22. Chilla has tried this time around to pay with the words so that they seem to be original but he has missed they whole boat. He is outside the boat altogether. But at least this press release was crafted by him or it is of poor caliber and not from President Sata himself.

  23. Because we have refused gays into Zambia, Obama can’t give us that aid. So you who are crying for that developmental funds from Obama must be gays

  24. Look at these fo.ols’ hallucination . Nevers is dull and crookered who can only fool these gullibles thriving on lies .Zambia is developing at a very fast rate while mulebwata bwata.Ubupuba !We have not forgotten the fo.olishness of rb and mmd era.
