    • These PF chaps are pushing their lucky too much,,, do they(PF) think thát NATO and USA are going to standby happly seeing Zambia in bed with firstly China then now north korea… Sata should time his move if he wants to last

    • Birds of a feather flock together. This PF regime is as abusive, irresponsible and as isolated as the North Korean regime.I guess the next visit is to Iran,Cuba and Syria where human rights mean nothing.

    • These PF are a real danger… only associate with controversial societies such as:
      – Sudan
      – Libya
      – Cuba
      – North Korea
      and of course
      – Zimbabwe

  1. Of what benefit to the Zambian people is this trip? This is a country that has been cut off from the rest of the world for human rights abuses and we embrace them??? What can we gain as a country from North Korea even if we disagree with the UN sanctions? The only thing the PF government will learn from NK is how to slience and surpress your citezenry. What a joke for a government!

  2. It is high time the PF Govt started searching for new friends outside Africa – as Guy Scott seals deals with North Korea. The realities are that when Mugabe loses to MDC, the PF Govt will be completely isolated on the African soil. Sudan will be too remote to be considered as a factor on Zambian political landscape. The PF must prepare to brace for the worst. As for the Chinese, their involvement in disrupting the operation of credible news media (blocking Watchdog and Zambia Reports), they will pay a very high price when the change of guard switches in favour of the opposition parties in 2016.

  3. North Korea?

Guy should be ashamed…. so too should Charlotte!

Allowing themselves to be paraded as nothing more than patsies of the world’s most truly evil dictator. What did they hope to learn? This shows appalling judgement and does Zambia no good whatsoever.

    • Iwe spuds nkala che zee, you have no idea what it takes to have nukes around nowadays, dont you know once you get even one you become untoucheable, ask Russia, not even America can Bla bla bla, imagine if Zambia was holding snowden? Life has evolved in an ugly way and it’s getting worse, ask one blogger Gadafi, he would say” these are end times”, so dont talk too much about our VIP, they know why they are there, you and i dont, ni dont kubeba!

    • Cindy do not show you shallow mindedness here! So you want Zambia to become untouchable? From who…..and then what? Sounds more like you want the PF government to be untouchable from its own people.

    • Oh, Cindy, you poor misguided and docile thing. Do you really suppose NK is going to push Zambia around because of nukes? Do you suppose NK even has time to care about Zambia beyond gathering some (preferably white) faces to photograph on the review stand? To say Zambia had no choice but to accept Kim whatever’s invitation is not only laughable but an insult to Zambia.

In fact if you want to talk realpolitik, Zambia has much more to gain from the West than to make friends with an isolated tyrant! Do you expect that impoverished NK will now give us assistance?

It is a particular insult for Guy (VP of a supposedly “democratic” country!) to attend celebrations marking the end of the Korean War (a war THE WORLD fought to defend democracy!) on stage with a tyrant!

    • Yeah right Zambia can never gain nothing from the west that they havent yet gained! How log has it been since Zambia or Africa were swindled by the west? you think the little Aid they smear on your faces are gains? my dear friends let me let you in on something……., the west that which they give is part of what they take from you. You two boys should wake up and act like men and stop spilling hate for people just because you dont like being opposed, what do you want me to write? That you are recommended for that comment? hell no, am entitled to my opnion especially when i have the right to debate, so show some manners, not every one is pf when they dont suck up to your opnion period!
By the way, am not in the real sense saying they went there for a nuke, lighten up boys you so…

    • @cindy
awe chocolate cindy, i hear your points though i dnnot agree with you.. but those were strong words, angels are not know for wording their points strongly..lololo

    • I see – so what should Zambia do? Declare war on Zimbabwe and North Korea and wait for Obama to throw us a bone from the table? Whining criticism with no alternative suggestions is not going to unseat PF in 2016 mwana

    • @ Clutchplate, Zambia should just get on with the business of social and economic development. It does no good to make friends with an isolated tyrant who happily keeps his people in starvation and forces them to get down on their knees and grovel before him as God. Literally as GOD!

Even a view as controversial as yours (unseat PF) would land you and your entire extended family in prison camp! Is that whining? Maybe. But is still sickening to see Scott attend a celebration in honor of such a man.

As for declaring war or waiting for bones, don’t be silly. Zambia has enough to do without pissing people off or being flippant to the international community (making friends with South Korea wouldn’t be a bad start). As for Mr. Mugabe, even he is a rainbow liberal next to Kim.

    • People people relax, this was probably just an innocent trip nothing to do with all the hard con dealings that would spear head America to lay sanctions on poor Zambia, that would never happen in a million years, otherwise, both opposing and agreeing are right in their own way, i dont think Zambia has much to gain from NK, yes Ndobo angels do at times get angry and speak strongly but are always meek and are often right, besides we all cant be Spuds or agree with him right?

  4. UMMMMMMMMMMMM, now we are friends with North Korea? Ba Sata ukuchenjela, anyway do what you can baba you never know, a gift of Five nukes could serve us oneday, Zambia press hard you can be recognised as a supper power in africa some day kosapo mwandi!

  5. It looks like the pf government has no clear foreign policy in place, their is no economic benefit to be allay to north Korea,as some bloggers stated ,its only how to suppress its citizens.i feel sorry for my country.

  6. WHAT!Tell me this isn’t so! North Korea? Are they out of their minds? What kind of evil men did we vote into power? First they align themselves with a terrorist group in the middle east ,now they seek more rogue states to bed with.Oh people we need to pray.We should have thought twice before voting someone whose signature is a cobra.I’m really scared for Zambia.

  7. Even the PF foreign policy is confused one, what do we gain from such associations….And Sata wants Samsung to come to Zambia and open a manufacturing factory, Sata is clearly delusional…when he is busy flirting with a country that’s fixed two-thirds of its short-range missile arsenal on them.

  8. Why are we dealing with Rogue states like Iran, Sudan and North Korea? Certainly Zambia will be on the radar .

  9. A lot can be told about you and your values just based on the company you keep.In afrika we only have Mugabe and now we have Kim Jong Ugly a mad man with nukes and starving his people.

  10. And you wonder how the likes of Kenya and Ghana are moving forward with building ultra modern technology hubs and business cities yet we are still stuck in iron-age UNIPist mindsets.

  11. They are always doing things the opposite way.I understand Chuumbwe will open this years Agricultural and Commercial Show!!! Mawe!!!

  12. Sata knows nothing else but what Kaunda did. So he is just following Kaunda’s foot steps in most things. Kaunda was in bed with North Korea and so is Sata. After growing up as a UNIP cadre even the years in MMD were just an opportunity at job seeking after seeing the tide shift. Why would a sensible person want to have ties with a rogue state? Just to place Mugabe honestly? Very poor choice of friends.

  13. YOU DIDNT VOTE FOR PF.
    YOU VOTED FOR KAUNDA.
    OBSERVE MOST FUNCTIONS.
PF HAS NO CLUE RUNNING THIS THING CALLED GOVT.

  14. So what will PF do with Watchdog on facebook? It has masively expanded beyond what it was as a stand alone site. Just curious

    • That’s true but ZWD does not have a clue on how to use Social media (Facebook) and its potential or how to interact with those selfsame members…they just post all their stories in the morning and call it a day.

  15. THE REASON WHY ZAMBIA IS ASSOCIATING WITH ROGUE COUNTRIES LIKE SUDAN, NORTH KOREA, ZAMBABWE, IS THAT WE HAVE A ROGUE GIVERNMENT UNDER PF. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK ANY LEADER OF A PRINCIPLED COUNTRY WOULD RISIK HER/HIS INTEGRITY BY ASSOCIATING WITH A ROGUE LIKE SATA. RB TRAVELLED BECAUSE HE WAS INVITED BY RESPECTED COUNTRIES WHO WANTED TO ASSOCIATE WITH ZAMBIA. TWO YEARS DOWN THE LINE, WHO HAS INVITED SATA. NO WONDER HE FLIES TO AND FRO STATE HOUSE TO AIRPORT. MISSING FLYING ?? ZAMBIA IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE UNDER THE CURRENT LEADERSHIP. PEOPLE OFTEN ASK ME WHY ZAMBIANS AS INTELLEGENT AS THEY ARE, PUT AN ***** IN STATE HOUSE. WE HAVE TO RECTIFY THIS TO REDEEM OURSELVES BECAUSE WE DESERVE BETTER.

  16. PF is a danger to the Zambian people. They need to go.We need to borrow the Egyptian army for a few weeks.

  17. Christians, christians please. It was an invitation by that government. How do you love only those who love you? Show some love even to psychiatry patients. You are the same people who in the evening ,in your bedrooms, pray for everyone. This earth we shall leave it guys but shall meet with the Korean brothers not necessarily the Korean politicians.

  18. Too many uneducated comments on this topic. What do you learn from visits to the USA and other Western Countries? Ooh I almost forgot GAY & LESBIAN RIGHTS.
You don’t have to learn their bad things but you can learn the good things.

    • Ok “educated” failed demagogue. Educate us about achievements if Sudan Al-Bashir, Libian Ghadafi, Castro’s Cuba, Mugabe’s Zimbabwe. Ops, I almost forgot, which is the next “people paradise” to be visited by “Zambian Democrats”? Eritrea? Venecuela? Syria? Iraq?
On the other hand, I do agree with you that in the “west” even gay and lesbians have rights. Shame that even you qualify for the same rights…

  19. There is nothing official about Veep scots visit, I think he went there as a tourist using tax payers money.

  20. Where’s Mushota and Nick her “Nuke”? She goes “ballistic” when she talks of how Nick “Nukes” her. Nick her “wamuyaya” fiancée. Nick the Nuke!

  21. I think we should learn to make our own judgements not just judge people because someone has said NK is bad then we also follow suit…….Do you know that former US President Jimmy Carter will be going to NK if he has not gone yet. Imagine if that white guy George Zimmerman who killed a black boy Travon Martin on pretext of self defence was acquited. what would have they said-there is injustice in NK but since its them so it will go down just like that.
Do you know that most USA companies have factories in China eg Apple but everyday China is acused of poor labour laws. So this is their economic war and lets not disturb their wars but eat from the best of both worlds.

  22. Such rankings, of course, do not tell the whole story, and the Edward Snowden case has certainly reminded us that the threat against freedom of information posed by those with power is not just something that applies to those countries on the lower end of the list. The administration of Zimbabwe’s northern neighbour Zambia (which comes in at number 72 on the Press Freedom Index), led by Michael Sata, for example, has apparently been looking into the possibility of shutting down access in the country to Facebook and Twitter. This comes after finding that sites critical of his administration (Zambian Watchdog and Zambia Reports), which have been shut down by the government, are still disseminating their information through these social networks. – See more at: http://newint.org/blog/2013/07/

  23. WRONG PLACE, WRONG COUNTRY TO MIX WITH. DOES NOT SURPRISE ZAMBIANS. PF ALWAYS GO FOR WRONG PRIORITIZES. WHAT WILL WE GAIN OR TRADE IN NORTH KOREA?? AT LEAST SOUTH KOREA WHICH IS A MUCH STABLE AND MORAL COUNTRY. PF??? MAKING ZAMBIA ISOLATED..

  24. I see another Chibesakunda in a high-ranking position. It’s like cockroaches….

  25. Uluse ba pamafi, they have completely isolated themselves from the region, look at who they call friends now! this trip has hued nothing excerpt this most stupid white man has learn t how to oppress our people.misplaced priorities. They can`t even tell us what important issues were discussed.

  26. Read between the lines. The visit is intended as a message to South Korea. South Korea Korea was also celebrating this occasion but Zambia chose to celebrate with the North because the South snubbed Sata when he went there a few months ago. Think deep.
