PF would die without Sata – GBM

PResident Sata-Chama-GBM

The Patriotic Front risks disintegrating and crumbling should President Michael Sata not run for a second term, Minister of Defence Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has predicted.

Mwamba, who is popularly known as GBM, has charged that those who were against the endorsement of President Sata for the 2016 polls should know that the ruling party would easily crumble without the leadership of the President.

Mwamba told the Daily Nation in an interview yesterday that his crusade of endorsing President Sata as a sole candidate for the 2016 general elections was meant to save the party from what he termed as “political scavengers.”

He said under PF, it was only President Sata who could give the ruling party another victory because the President still enjoyed massive support and popularity from Zambians because of his determination to create employment and develop the country.

Mwamba said President Sata constitutionally deserved a second term and that those who were against him recontesting the presidency were being politically mischievous.

He said it was too early for President Sata to leave the party he had worked so hard to build for over a decade adding the PF would never be the same without the Head of State.

Mwamba said the ruling party would only allow President Sata to retire after he had served the second and groomed his successor that would be easy to sale to the electorate.

Mwamba said he would continue appealing to the Head of State not to abandon his own boat stating the clique that was scheming to unseat him would never succeed because the President was aware of their dealings.

He said Zambians were talking about the PF because they knew that President Sata was at the helm and that it would be risky for the party to participate in the 2016 elections without the President.

“If President Sata left the party now, it would easily crumble and disintegrate because it is the President who is holding the party together. And because of this, I will continue endorsing President Sata for the 2016 general elections and those who are against the President ruing for the second term are mischievous. Under PF President Sata is the only candidate who can give the party another victory because he is still enjoying massive support from the electorate,” Mwamba said.

Mwamba launched the President Sata endorsement campaign in Kasama and the campaign has since spread to Luapula, Eastern, Lusaka, Southern, Copperbelt and Western Provinces with each region declaring that the President would have to run for the second term.

    • Well said GBM. From today let PF be called as such… a One-Man party. And that makes any so called tribal party a billion times more legitimate than PF. Finally the truth is coming out!

    • What GBM is merely doing is placing himself very strategically in a position that elicits sympathy for himself as the best candidate to replace MCS.

We read you very loud and clear GBM and we are not fooled. But I doubt this revelation will stop you from speaking from your rear end.

  1. GBM you are a “T”. There is much more important staff for you to do that being a parrot. If you have nothing to bring to the table, just keep quiet!!!!

    • I believe GBM is right. On the Assignment MUVI TV program,Kabimba said:Sata is the best Politcian in the Cabinet with all the Cabinet Ministers combined,Kabimba himself included. So I don’t understand why Kabimba is not in support of Sata standing again in 2016.

  2. Ife chabe! Twanaka! The only thing this pathetic government has managed to develop is the price of everyday goods! Marubbish!!!

  3. This speaks volume on how shallow minded we Africans can be! I wonder who he thinks he is speaking to, this day and age someone can just utter such lies in broad day light? Please GBM come up with a better reason why HMSCs should still remain party president and Qualify to stand for the next general elections?

    • @cindy
No cindy NOT we africans.. am not part of your equations… na kukalila!! kekekkekk…
This a trial for sata`s leadership skills, how can Sata make stu.pid people, dull people, educated people, sharp people, clever people,,,, etc work together in peace and produce results!!!

    • @ Ndobo,
Oh my God today is not my day on LT, even Ndobo has washed his hands.
Anyways i dont just understand why they are getting so an easy at this point in time, i mean isnt it too early, besides why not use the correct language in trying to win peoples favour?
Sometimes one wonders how deep, far and big the cut is!

    • Very right Cindy. I have questioned GBM’s mention of Sata’s leadership skills. GBM and PF bootlickers alone marvel and see these none existence abilities.

    • @ Mfumu,
By the way has GBM become Satas campaign manager, how and since when? Strangely enough there was no announcement of any kind, i just home this is not a breeding ground for campaign violence that we see in other countries.

    • Don’t worry, you are not alone. People of our generation (post independence) wonder why we find ourselves in this position. But this GBM thinking clearly demonstrates the root of all our troubles in Z, and Africa. LACk OF LEADERSHIP. It is a challenge for us. Our forefathers brought independence, and I think time has come for young blood to take the mantle and provide vision and leadership in the current century

  4. High time we got rid of the great bag of maize(GBM).The dude leaves much to be desired.Reason why people should be elected and appointed to positions because of their intellectual abilities and not how heavy their pocket is.My fellow PF its about time we devised a proper plan. This guy is embarrassing us.

  5. gbm,you are right winter also is of the same view,he told the nation that all of you in cabinet can’t equal cycle mata’s iq period

  6. Self admission that PF has nobody capable of leading the party. While the constitution may provide that a president serves a maximum of two terms, however, if that individual falls short of the leadership expected of him, the party would be doing the country at large a dis-service by imposing the same person just because of the accrued benefits the endorsing proponents gain from his continued stay as president. As it is the country has been on autopilot and this can’t continue for another five years. With a D+ midterm report, there is little hope in 2016. PF stands a better chance with a change of the guard. PF is about to hit the self distruct button!

  7. GBM is really right. Take any party, which party would abandon their leader after first term, which one? UPND, MMD, UNIP, NAREP, name them. Which one, not even in USA, UK, Germany, SA, anyone and anywhere they can’t do that! For Sata it is even special because he single handedly conceived, gave it birth and supported it grow. Other members just jumped on. How dare any shallow thinking can even start thinking of replacing him now? Its really crazy. Not the way others jumped on to presidency. Sata is Sata and is special, so special in his own way that no one can fit in his shoes. This no blind loyalty. This is reality. Stop dreaming you dreamers! Go the way of Mulongoti, Bwalya, Chipimo, Magande, etc. form yours if you got brainn like that of Sata and your party will win, which I doubt.

    • I don’t agree that Sata has great brains, difficult to prove considering his style of leadership. The Z people are to blame for voting for him or people need to set their priorities right and identify which leaders can deliver.. not just singing and sitting back hoping all will be well, when you as a people have not deliberately defined what you want and taken steps to entrust right leaders to get you to your targets. It won’t happen

    • As a practical matter, he’s too old to run again. He needs to pass the torch to the next generation of leaders. Time to move on.

Please try to think outside the box before you blog. Mandela served one term and ANC did not crumble.Mbeki was outsted by Zuma and the ANC is still in power.Supposing Sata died now, will it mean the end of Zambia.Mazooka founded the UPND and it is still there.Brown outsted Blair but the labour party is still there.

    • @Yande, @Floyd is right to a given extent. You only have to go to through the records at the Office of the Registrar of Societies to see the fate of most past political parties in Zambia (save for those banned by Kaunda). NADA, NDP, ZDA, ZADECO, Peoples Party, AFZ, NCC, etc. In most of these cases the party disappeared after either the demise of the founder or their departure to join another party. MMD survived because of the way it evolved into a party from a movement. UNIP is for all intents and purposes a Kaunda family party. UPND has at least lived beyond Mazoka for now. Ideally, PF should survive beyond Sata but that is doubtful for now.

    • @yande, consider the motives under which the leaders you have mentioned were changed. The change that the faction in PF want is just utterly mischief, big headedness and power hungriness which is not just right. In SA Mandela suggested so, Mbeki served two terms. Unless something like that happens then you can start thinking of getting rid of the incumbent president. Those guys agitating removal of Sata are not just in the right frame of minds. If Sata lives on he deserves two terms unless beaten by opposition votes. Put the ball on the ground and reason properly.

  9. ba ‘cindy’ do not say ‘we’ africans, say ‘I’ the african, a stupid one for that matter. i am not on the same level to the african you are referring to. life does not stop for individuals, for your own information. we had greater people than these riffraffs you are adoring and are now gone but the world is still running and faster fgor that matter. sata is not immortal and someone else will come. only GOD lasts forever

  10. LT you are kissing GBM’s ass too much these days! morning till evening it’s GBM. where is Chikwanda and the september salaries for civil servants

  11. It is true the President is the pillar of PF. He worked hard for it and deserves a second term. However, in a democratic society others should be given the opportunity to challenge for the highest position.

    • He will certainly stand for elections on a PF ticket in a bid to get a second term as president of Zambia. But chances are quite high that the majority of the Zambian voters will not give him a second chance. I agree with those who have predicted that Sata is a one-term president.

  12. Same Old UNIP Nonsense. “SATA wamuyayaya!! Kumulu !! ni Lesa, Pashi Ni Sata!!!” Icho Chisokone Chisokone?? Now true colors of PF have unveiled. It’s a one man show, because of the way Zambians just worship these so called leaders. I was surprised to see people Calling HH honorable?? On what grounds? Can he be addressed as honorable? Such rubbish, of treating these people above any human beings or Zambians, just like Sata in PF, will always make them think it’s only them?? And these parties would not survive without them. I hope this nonsense will not push them to change the constitution to Keep SATA for life. Watch out Zambians. GBM’s statement is up to no Good. It will start with PF?? Then the whole Zambia.

  13. Those comparing Sata to Ukwa are annoying; the man’s jokes do not have any humour in them at all. Maybe he should be compared to Mr. Ibu because they have two things in common. 1. The jokes are so stale that it’s only Sata who finds them amusing. 2. What he (Sata) says is outright gibberish and it’s hard to extract sense from his incoherent speeches. Don’t accuse me of being a Wynter Kabimba sympathiser!

  14. ‘Mwamba said he would continue appealing to the Head of State not to abandon his own boat’ – So it is the devil Sata who wants to abandon his sinking ship after all. GBM give us a break – you bloody i d i o t. Why force the man if he himself no longer believes in himself. Didn’t you hear the real Sata died a long time ago and what is there now is a ZOMBIE! Sata is a failed project and there is no hope for him. Zambian will make sure he is swept into the history dustbin of failed leaders.

By the way, who ever stands on PF ticket will be PF’s sole candidate!

  15. Sata is the owner of PF and having him out means the death of PF. This is now a divided kingdom and soon it is heading for doom. Keep on fighting and even go to an extent of axing each other by word, you will end up using witchcraft.

  16. Destructive politics of the “big man syndrome” where a president becomes a demi-god like…. Mugabe,Mobutu,Mubarak,Museveni,Moi,Muluzi…..and maybe Mwamba and his god Sata?

  17. But Sata will not be there for good. Is he a god?. It is just power hungry among senior leaders in PF that the party could die without Sata. Further, we are yet to see a party in Zambia that handled the succession well.

  18. GBM is a Liar. No one in the PF has ever said Sata should not stand in 2016. What Kabimba, Given and Guy have said is that the time is not right to start these so callled endorsements because such divert attention. No one has ever indicated they wanted to challenge Sata in 2016 or that he should not stand in 2016. Yes the Winter group was getting too close to Sata so GBM felt threatened. The only way he could claim his position back (being close to Sata) was to start this scheme of ‘endorsing’ Sata. And since the rest felt it was not time for endorsements, GBM started to lebel them anti Sata. GBM is a danger to his collegues in the PF.

  19. Sata is the owner of PF. No doubt about that!!!!!! Unless you were not there in 2001 when he single handily launched the party with Dr. Scot. This explains why he has opted to remaine silent as the f.o.o.l.s are fighting each other. I agree that Sata=PF. People like GBM are just seeking attention to show that they are more closer to the President than their colleagues. Bamuselela kwakaba!!!!! or Muzungu anikonde!!!!!!!But since Zambian voters are not analytical in nature they can vote for a person like GBM and become President.

  20. ………if an elected president is entitled to 2 terms in office and he has so far saved only 1/2 the fist term, why should he be endorsed. Has he at one time indicated that he is tired and wants to rest? GBM practicing politics of bootlicking and SATA is lacking leadership in failing to stop the great Bag of Manure (GBM).

  21. GBM confirms that should Sata demise today, PF dies also. This is an a very sad and painful reality for PF especially that almost all PF supporters have committed crimes against fellow citizens and are not in jail because PF is in power. It is a clear admission that there will be no PF after Sata.

  22. PF shelf life is dependent on Sata’s lifespan! At the moment it’s better to describe the health status of the PF as Ailing! Waiting to dance on the PF grave!

  23. A statement by GBM to the effect that PF will die without President Sata sounds very prophetic. This is the reason why senior members of PF are panicking due to data they know about their “Boss”. Sata will go out of Zambian political landscape with his own personal-to-holder party.

All members of PF at all levels are serving the PF as “CASUAL WORKERS” that are so vulnerable that they can be fired at any time He feels like to get rid of any. Hence their docile attitude to sheeply serve their ‘Master’ who cannot accept their opinions in the management of his PF Plc (Company Ltd).

  24. Ba GBM balemona kwati balewamya, dalo, dalo, dalo!!!!! Mandela groomed someone in one term. GBM just wants to be groomed but he’s not sure he’s ready.

  25. @ Id.iot, your entire clan is made of retards. Your pa lives off some garbage dump. If you have anything to say, stick to the topic at hand. If you want to showcase ur stock of my insults, show it to someonelese coz I’m not the one who brought idiocy into ur stinking family. Up yours. Phew!

  26. A sad but hardly surprising comment by BGM. To say PF would be finished without Sata is to admit the party has no vision but a manager!

  27. allow me to speak my mind on GBM’s view over PF’s position without the head of state, mind you i am not a politician but what i think is,GBM is 100% rihgt in the sense that PF is wat it is today not bcoz of the party but bcoz of the head of state the president YH MR MICHEL CHILUFYA SATA.pipo knew en they stil believe its only Mr SATA the president for who will be able to rescue them and believe me you the moment the head of state leaves PF that will be the end of it so i would edge the Pf members to sit down en think about wat GBM has Said.however those who feel BGM is not right will prove him right should the president decide not to stand in 2016.
