Opposition MMD Die-Hard youth Coordinator Bowman Lusambo has given the Zambia Police a seven days ultimatum in which to explain to the nation the procedure it has continued to use to permit Patriotic Front (PF) cadres to conduct protests.
Lusambo says his party would like to know the procedure the PF cadres have been following for Police to continue granting them permission to stage protests against PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba.
He says failure by the police command to explain to the nation the procedure PF cadres have been using to obtain police permits will force youths from the opposition to demonstrate against the police.
Lusambo has stated that there is no way the opposition can continue being denied police permits to hold political public gatherings when the PF cadres are allowed to hold protests almost on a daily basis.
He told QFM that such double standards by the Police in administering the Public Order are unfair and discouraging to the opposition in the country.
There is anarchy in the country. Trouble anywhere in the the country is a deadly recipe for disaster everywhere in the country if left unchecked and nipped in the bud. Mark my words!
Interesting development. This was coming, especially considering how heavy handed police have been against other sections of society whenever they decided to (procedurally) mount a demonstration. This could breed quite some uncomfortable state of affairs if left unchecked. PF must desist from behaving like UNIP in their heydays…
PF are the worst government ever! PF police are causing confusion everywhere in the country and will plunge the nation in turmoil. We all can what they are doing – sowing disorder and disrespect for the rule of law and order. President swore to uphold the constitution but awe kwena – he needs to be impeached!

It is time they go. How can a rsponsible Head of state put a man of low carliber like GBM to be Minister, for that mater to be in charge of Defence. The Defence forces are not happy. There are people with integrity who could be Ministers of Defence. Wake up UKWA.
Our ZP are a big disgrace and let down. On daily basis PF cadres are granted police permits for unconstructive protests, last time against Lubinda and now its against Kabimba. But when HH and UPND ,Nevers & MMD, wants to hold constructive Political gatherings of sensitizing members of the public on their manifestos, police permits are denied in the name of public order Act. I support Lusambo for the idea of mass protests. I therefore implore the opposition to co-exist on this noble cause being spear headed by Lusambo.Seven days to the police for an explanation is what we await for now failure for the satisfactory explanation after seven days it is opposition mass protests against the selective way of issuing police permits by ZP.VIVA LUSAMBO, NO RETREAT NO SURRENDER.

Do they need 7 days to explain that the police are afraid to deny them ‘street kids’ permits because the cadres in question belong to plot 1? It’s so obvious!

Lusambo has, for once, used his energy towards a noble cause. Yes, these are the questions opposition members of parliament should have been pushing the Speaker to demand for a Ministerial Statement by the Hon. Minister of Home Affairs. It is high time we started playing our roles, instead of defecting like our brothers Masumba, Taima, David Phiri, Ngoma, sikwela and many such. So unprincipled.
