Vice-President Guy Scott has arrived in Sri Lanka, Colombo to attend this year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The Vice President who is accompanied by his wife Charlotte Scott and his Senior Private Secretary Robert Kamalata arrived at Bandanaraike International Airport in Colombo at 18:00 hours local time.
According to a tentative programme availed to the press, Dr Scott is tomorrow expected to address a meeting on the investment climate in Zambia before flying to Hambantota for a tree planting exercise and to participate in the Heads of Government round table talks with business leaders.
On Friday the Vice-President will be among the Commonwealth Heads of Government during the official opening the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre.
Various bilateral meetings are also expected to be held on the sidelines of the 2013 CHOGM, which officially closes on November 17.
The theme for this year’s CHOGM is ‘Inclusive Development—Stronger Together’.

this is the same meeting being shunned by principled leaders due to Sri Lankas poor human rights record..! I pray for the day Zambia will once again stand for values that we demand in all our collaborators…including refusing to go to countries that abuse it’s people.

This is the second Commonwealth Heads of State Summit since PF came to power. And the second Scott is representing us. Just wondering why Sata is not interested. Is it because his fellow curmudgeon Mugabe is not part of it?
Spook these conferences are too academic for Sata. They need leaders to articulate their policies as regard to matters of the conference. Do you think Sata is interested in that?
