Former Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) Chief Executive officer Professor Clive Chirwa has now decided to remain mute over his threats to renounce his Zambian citizenship if government did not release his passport.
Professor Chirwa on Friday gave government 24 hours to return his passport to enable him travel to see his family and attend late former South African president Nelson Mandela or he will renounce his citizenship.
Speaking to Qfm News in a telephone interview, on what he would do next now that government has not released his passport following the expiry of his ultimatum, Professor Chirwa who sounded in a low voice says he said whatever he wanted to say and had no further comments.
Seems this man was trying to make government play by his rules…

The mind needs to be developed in everything and not just one specific area (math, physics etc.), but also in political science, economy, sociology, history , philosophy etc. that way you become educated in the real way because you develop every known mental faculty of yourself and help bring the other faculties unknown to light (innovation). Infact that’s what a real education is, the development and knowledge of self. How can you say am educated when you don’t know who you are? We should change the education system pa zed otherwise we will be seeing more of this type of rhetoric from what we consider educated people. Introduce the classics to engineering courses also, like history, philosophy, sociology, political science etc, as mandatory semester courses.

Correction, he was not employed by BOSTON UNIVERSITY but BOLTON UNIVERSITY in UK. Boston is in the US and is a fantastic university, Bolton in the Northwest England and is a former Polytechnic that was upgraded to become a university (if there is anything like that….upgrading a small college to university}

He is complaining about the long time it’s taking to dispose of his case. Before he was arrested the ACC assured the nation that they had enough evidence to prosecute him but its now almost a year before the case takes off. By the way, how many of the government officials that were staying at those expensive villas or whoever authorised their stay there have been arrested for corruption?
It sounds confusing but it is true. The coach is not a player. Every striker is proud of the talent and fame. There is no need to apologize for that. Government officials should not embarrass, humiliate,insult or ridicule defenseless individuals. It is better to express sympathy and remain firm, calm and committed to observing the rule of law. Fairness and kindness make good investment. They tend to yield dividends. How about moving to the National Airline? That is also transportation. Built on precision and machines. Mistake or no mistake, Chirwa is Zambian. One would expect that in how own country he would receive sympathy and help. Where is Mpezeni or Gawa Undi? How do you allow your own blood, your own son to be tormented like this you people? If I was in his shoes and Mwata Kazembe could not raise a single word, I would be a very sad person indeed. Chirwa has offended people, and people have a right to be offended; however, the treatment and insults he is getting is unjustifiable. Treating your own people this way does not lead any society to development, never!! Surprisingly, if a Zambian does well in something, say football, the whole country would wish to be associated with him or her!! Its a sad episode for all this Chirwa issue.
