MMD vice-presidents Brian Chituwo and Michael Kaingu together with former Petauke Member of Parliament Dora Siliya, Senga Hill MP Kapembwa Simbao and former Solwezi Central MP Lucky Mulusa should not have taken their grievances to the media and should have endeavoured to resolve their differences with president Nevers Mumba internally, MMD national youth chairperson Howard Kunda has said.
Kunda has said allegations that the senior party members were working with the ruling PF to auction the MMD, were serious and needed answers, but this should be within the internal party systems and not in the media.
Kunda who is Muchinga MMD MP said the party was alert to the fact that Kabimba who is Justice Minister had positioned himself to take over the presidency of the PF before 2016 and was seeking the support of MMD members.
He said there were serious allegations that some leaders in the MMD government wanted to destroy the former ruling party and were working with Kabimba and M’membe and that was the reason why they were holding meetings at the Post Newspaper.
Kunda further alluded to the fact that because those calling for the resignation of Dr. Bemba were not of Bemba origin, the perception was that this was a tribal scheme to replace Dr. Mumba with a non-Bemba speaking member of the party.
The youth leader said, if the people calling for Dr. Mumba’s removal felt very strongly, they had the option to resign, but that they should not destroy the party for which they hard worked so hard for many years.
“Dr Chituwo, Dr Kaingu, Siliya, Simbao can resign on moral grounds rather than be linked to plans to kill the MMD so that whatever remains from the party would be auctioned to the PF under Kabimba who has positioned himself to take over the presidency of the ruling party. The fight against Dr Mumba appears tribal and unfortunately the names I have mentioned give credence to such allegations,” Kunda said.
He said Dr Mumba had been working hard to unite the party and would welcome constructive help in putting the party back on track but felt frustrated by people who were supposed to help him strengthen the party in readiness for the 2016 general elections.
Kunda said the MMD would remain the strongest opposition political party and that the PF and Kabimba were scared that the former ruling party would easily bounce back to power if it was left un-stabilized.
He said the MMD had provided effective checks and balances to the failed PF government and that it would continue doing so because Zambians were regretting having wasted their vote on a party that had turned out to be the worst government in the history of the country.
He explained that Zambians voted for the PF in 2011 because they wanted to experiment adding it was tragic that the country was being governed by people who had no knowledge about how to govern.
Efforts to get comments from Dr Chituwo, Dr Kaingu, Siliya and Simbao failed as their mobile phones were off.
HH is coming! keep fighting and leave us to organise mother Zambia the land of our forefathers for the benefit of all. We can all see through you. Your internal wrangles imminent from PF dangling pieces of meat at some of the hungry hyenas in your midst.

Howard, are you the same guy, that stopped his father and filed in his nomination to become an MP before your dad (Late G Kunda) was laid to rest.
Look your statement could be correct, but as a novice you have know grounds of speaking anything strategic.
The problems in MMD are creed, jealous and non founded, they are killing their own party.
A Lot of what is coming through the media including your statement should be solved inhouse , stop rushing to the media, the only thing is , you are losing the neutral supporters who are indifferent on which party to vote for.

If Mumba still think is popular, let him call for extra ordinary convention instead of hiding behind the MMD Constitution of every 5 years. There is no need for a convention. Dr Mumba is the president of MMD. What makes it even more difficult to trust the people calling for the convention is their meeting the enemy of their party without the knowledge of the party president. What about the re – instated members in the copperbelt, where are they coming from? These are subscribed pf members.

This boy has become another dreamer. Does he think that with the current wrangles MMD still remains a strong opposition party? Although I do not belong to any political party, I have been following up most of the events.
What can this dreamer say about UPND which has been poaching most of its senior members including Willian Banda, Dr. Cornelius Banda now vice president, Maxwell Mwale etc. to name a few. He should not blame PF but his own president for losing such important members to an opposition alliance. May be they left because they did not have confidence in Nevers. But others instead of resigning have chosen to remain and correct the situation.
Anyway this Lala boy is now becoming tribal and not making sense. But I can assure him that UPND is celebrating more than PF.
In all civilised mind it is unheard off for a party to die. An ideology doesnt die. Why parties die its because hungry lions want to eat from double plates. I would want to support this young man who refused to be bought by cobra at the time of his fathers death. Such are the boys who will not go far in Zambian society because they use their brain. In zambia to survive and win you need to be a liar, a traitor, a corrupt man. Dr Chituwo and Dr Kaingu have realise that it is time to join the lieing politics. I cant see any leader among the three who can revive their party in the next two years. That will be the end of MMD, and fred will rest.
This is so sad. Running a party is not a one man show, rather it is a team effort. Kaingu and Chituwo cannot say Mumba has failed when they are vice presidents! What is their job description? This is an admission that the two have failed their president. They should be in the fore front in looking for solutions to shore up their party which made them enjoy for 20 years. Two years down the line as opposition and they are already disintegrating! Learn from other parties which have been in opposition for years and years and yet are growing.
The problem lies with the systems used to elect leaders. The only party leader that was democratically elected in Zambia so far was Chiluba, when a free and fair election was held. Chiluba went on to make it possible for Mwanawasa to challenge him at a party convention. Whether that election was free and fair, I have my doubts. Thereafter, party leaders always want to impose successors on the people. This is why it’s very import for all parties to hold credible free and fair elections 3 and half years before the general election. A losing candidate will then have a one year hand over period while the winning candidate has a year to renew his mandate.
Kunda, could you go straight and leave PF alone. It looks like you have been bribed. Just look at that lame duck, a leader of mmd. Do something to stir him up or look for a leader who can activate and firebrand mmd party. mmd is making me sleep or bored.

If there is a problem in the MMD do you seek secret meetings in the dark with the enermy or you aim high to short down the problem the only way you said when you pledged alligeance the first time you went in as a member?
This entire unfolding episode exposes how these many Zambian politicians operate in serving the country. These should serve as a RED FLAG to all the voters especially those with hope to vote for Dora together with her crew and the initiators of this menacing project! If MMD members were real and true to themselves, this is the crucial time to lag behind Dr Mumba for Judas Iscariot has only one plan!

Yes you could be right but everything starts with the head and ends with the head. If anything is going wrong in my house, I should take full responsibility.
May be they have tried to help the head of the party but he has been failing them. It could be a frustration on their part (This may be inside information you and me may not know).
I know Dr. Chituwo is a gentleman. A Doctor and Army General. I have known him not to be contraversial like what he has done now. Something is really serious wrong. Let us wait and see more reactions from the general membership.

Its a shame that 2 vice presidents can hold dark corner meetings with the percieved enemy without the knowledge of the president. They cannot be trusted. I agree with Howard that its possible that Kabimba is positioning himself using MMD. Wake up Zambians, Wake up all genuine followers of the Zambian politics, what zambia needs is a man with clean hands, one who has the fear of the Lord. The party MMD may be shaken but a leader with integrity is what we need.
