The supporters of Kasama Central member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba and civil rights activist Kelvin Sampa have agreed on the operation guidelines with the police after holding a meeting that both sides attended.
Northern Province police commissioner Milner Muyambango said a meeting had been held at the police station where both parties were cautioned to desist from behaviour contrary to what regulation stipulate.
“Those that want to make processions are free to do so with the condition that they notify us. This is so that we are able to regulate their activities within the confines of the law. Those who will insist on going against the law will be dealt with firmly” he said.
The police chief the meeting was fruitful because both rival camps agreed to comply with guidelines given top them.
Trouble started brewing after Mr Mwamba’s supporters claimed Mr Sampa’s donations were not charitable but an undercover campaign for the Kasama Central parliamentary seat.
Mr Mwamba’s supporters in a convoy of more than 20 vehicles went round the central business district honking, in an apparent displeasure over Mr Sampa’s charity work in Kasama and allegedly blocked Mr Sampa’s convoy which was on its way to Chilubula Mission.
Mr Sampa, who has for some time now been working with the underprivileged in Kasama and making donations to various causes denied campaigning for political office saying his works were purely altruistic in nature.

GBM doesent need to be scared of sampa coz sampa is a known MMD thief who thinks PF can adopt him he is using the money he stole together with RB remeber he’s jointly appearing in court with RB the trucks at the centre of the court case were registered in sampas names so no need to panic over sampa he cant be adopted what ever happens
Sampa is campaigning and the label on the vehicle? The PF slogans with the driver? What law enforcement is only on in the country, this man is operating a machine with hands off the steering wheel and the head outside, looking in the different direction. No wonder the police need to hold meeting with law breaks, what kind of policing is this. Police please be firm on the enforcement of law and at the same time fair. Let us see if you will hold meetings with the opposition to agree on the mode of being policed.

OldRugsOUT, Kasama is too complex if you don’t come from there to understand. Those of you, who say Kasama is for GBM you are mistaken. Kasama is cosmopolitan town and that means it does not belong to anyone. Political heavyweights have fallen to minor ones. If GBM is Kasama then, He would have not gone to the court to challenge his expulsion from PF. I come from Kasama and I communicate with locals/ politicians alike. There is land issue which is a thorn issue than many think. Land around Kasama airport sold by chief Mwamba even when it’s not traditional land. Many have built massive house which are illegally built on air port land. From Lualuo, mutale Mwamba, Chinji Chiluya, Kasama v, Shata, mukandawa, milima and saili villages the land has been sold by the same chief. Remember 98%…
Cont: these people are pure Bembas whose land and life has been stolen and sold for piece of silver. Their land where they have lived even before the white fathers came Bemba land. They have lived there before Zambia became independent and now they are strangers in their own chiefdom. Senior chief Mwamba now Mwine Lubemba did not even speak to his own people buy was more money driven law is there I’d someone has lived on the land 5 yrs legally it belongs to him/her. More 100 yrs and sale their lands? GBM has a long and hard battle on his hands majority voters are from the rural areas and these are the same people saying ubufumu nipa Bantu.
