UPND urges state security agencies to protect all Zambians regardless of political affiliation

Share

THE United Party for National Development UPND has called upon state security agencies to be professional in promoting peace and protecting Zambians regardless of their political affiliations.

Speaking during a press briefing in Livingstone yesterday, UPND Livingstone District Chairperson Michael Kangai said violence should not be allowed at any level because it was not a good thing.

“We therefore call upon state security agencies to be professional in securing Zambians and ensure that all Zambians are protected regardless of their political affiliation.

What will happen tomorrow if instruments of power and authority exchange hands?” he said.

Mr Kangai urged the Patriotic Front PF to allow other political players to visit certain areas in the country.

He said UPND had seen its party President Mr Hakainde Hichilema’s life was threatened following the recent attack on the Copperbelt.

Mr Kangai said the recent attacks on Mr Hichilema were in full view of the police and demanded that the culprits be brought to book.

He said urged Defence Minister Edgar Lungu to ensure that there was total internal security in the country.

He said any violent attempts on the UPND’s leader would result into strife that the country had never seen.

“We shall not tolerate barbaric acts from PF. Any attempts on our party President’s life will result into such strife as never seen before in our country,” Mr Kangai said.

Mr Kangai also demanded that the country has a new constitution before the 2016 elections.

  1. Why waste your time advising PF thugs, YOU KNOW SATA IS A THUG LOOK AT HOW THE F00L ALMOST BROUGHT GENOCIDE DURING THIRD TERM.
WHERE IS TB JOSHUA NO PROPHESY.

    • Good message from the wise president. All sane intelligent officers know that Sata is the devil the country made a mistake to elect.

I am sure a lot of my friends in the secret service will try their best to protect HH the only presidential contender with a good and inspiring vision for Zambia.

Sata and his PF are just a bunch of liars who are in government to enrich them selves. They are borrowing massively and yet meali meal and fuel is going up uncontrollably.

The only good news people expect is the announcement that meali meal prices and fuel has gone down. Any thing else from the PF is total rubbish.

People come 2016, lets vote UPND and HH the only hope and help people of Zambia want right now on the back drop of the mess created by Mad Sata and his useless PF cabinet…

  2. The violence and political thuggery being exhibited by the PF is uncalled for, uncivilized and recipe for anarchy that will bring untold misery to this country if tolerated. it is not enough for the PF functionaries to simply condemn violent acts. The perpetrators should be brought to book. With all the technology available, my earnest appeal to all responsible citizens is to document acts of violence and at an opportune time charge the hooligans in their individual capacities. Lets have an intellectual debate devoid of any form of physical violence.

  3. Look who are crying now. The same free mansons wh launched their so called mapatizya formula not long ago. Now see where it has landed you

  4. Pety, pety pety…press briefing. U gather your diaper journalists,u mean u dnt smethng constructive to talk abt? You provoke situations

  5. It’s only in Zambia where security is politicized. Security is supposed to be a legal right of every Zambian citizen, irrespective of affiliation; whether political, religious or otherwise. That is called law and order. In Zambia, certain individuals live above the law. They can maim, fight, kill etc. and nothing gets done to them by the so called law enforcement agencies. That is horrifying.

  6. The nagging and yet pertinent reality is that narrow-minded ignorance is our ever present help in trouble. It’s destructive nature is evident. Indeed one need not go to look for the Taliban in Afghanistan, in order to be entertained by it’s generous brutality. Its all over the streets of Lusaka and on the Copper belt, our so called most enlightened communities!
