Patriotic Front (PF) secretary general Wynter Kabimba has denied reports that he was in Eastern Province to seek Paramount Chief Mpezeni’s support for his presidential ambitions.

Mr Kabimba said at no time did he tell Paramount Chief Mpezeni that President Sata had anointed him to take over the presidency of the PF after the expiry of Mr Sata’s presidential term.

Both Mr Kabimba and Paramount Chief Mpezeni have denied ever having such a conversation and have described reports as nothing but an attempt to cause confusion in the party.

But sources from Eastern Province have told the Daily Nation that Mr Kabimba had a meeting with Mpezeni at which he allegedly told the traditional leader that he was going to take over the presidency of the PF and needed the support of the traditional leadership.

The sources said some people who were part of the meeting when Mr Kabimba paid a courtesy call on Paramount Chief Mpezeni alleged that the Justice Minister told the traditional leader that he was the heir to the PF president and needed the support of the traditional leadership in Eastern Province.

The sources said Mr Kabimba went to see Paramount Chief Mpezeni without his Eastern Province PF chairman Lameck Mangani who has been accused by the Justice Minister of sponsoring a group of youths called Jimbos allegedly causing terror in the region.

The sources said Mr Kabimba had caused a lot of confusion in Eastern Province by openly attacking Mr Mangani and that the PF would have a lot of difficulties to win the support of the region in any election.

Mr Mangani when contacted refused to comment on anything saying he would rather wait to meet President Sata and Mr Kabimba to resolve the issues without involving the media.

“Why is it that some other media houses are not reporting what Mr Kabimba told Paramount Chief Mpezeni that he is going to take over from President Sata. He went to see the chief in the absence of the Provincial chairman Lameck Mangani and was canvassing for support and the chief told him that he would get his support because he (Mpezeni) is a strong supporter of the PF and President Sata,” the source said.

Mr Kabimba when contacted refused having had such a conversation with Paramount Chief Mpezeni and challenged the reporter to ask the traditional leader if he ever said he was the heir to the PF presidency. ‘I do not want to talk about that. Get to the Chief and ask him if we had such a conversation. I do not want to answer general questions about people claiming I have presidential ambitions just get what Paramount Chief Mpezeni has told you. There are no insinuations here unless you do not understand English,” Mr Kabimba said.

And Paramount Chief Mpezeni said Mr Kabimba was not asking for his personal support but for the party and President Sata and that as a traditional leader, he had no problems supporting the party in power.

Paramount Chief Mpezeni denied having been asked by Mr Kabimba to support his presidential ambitions stating that it was not correct for people to accuse the Justice Minister of habouring presidential ambiations.

The traditional leader said he was supporting Kabimba not as an individual but as a senior member of the PF government adding that the Justice Minister only talked about supporting President Sata.

  1. Whether he denies it or not, he is in my honest opinion the best man to take Zambia forward

A Qualified lawyer with abundant experience and likeable man

Hang in there Wynter, ,most of us want you to lead us form 206

    Thanks

    • Ooopps 2016 of course, as most of you will agree with my incisive articulate judging of the political landscape in Zambia.

I have an MBA, CIMA, ACCA, Msc in Applied Accounts, BSc, MBA and now doing my PhD.

      Thanks

    • ‘mushoto
yayaayayayayayaya…..you 1diot you want kambiba to lead you not ‘we’. what ever gymnastics the wanker may use, he will not win the national elections unless he resurrects from the dead and reforms. and the battle is still on in pf to succeed sata. so be careful

    • This imbeccile Mushota is a man working for LT pretending to be a man. He is posting nonsense just to annoy other bloggers. Surely all these years Mushota you living in denial. Repent of your sins and come back to your senses you child of the devil.

    • Wynter Kabimba can never be president of Zambia. He is the most hated man in Zambia. Even if the PF have to rig elections for Kabimba, he will not last as there would be a military coup. I tell you the truth.

    • And that is a PhD that has taken over 4 years? What are you studying? A PhD in “Forever After Studies”.

    • Over the bloody moon. If God want to open a way for UPND Tonganyokos to form Government in 2016,he would wake up Mazoka to go knock on the UPND secretariat & wht would become of overzealous diaper master? Mark my words UPND + SDA Tonganyoko fanatics will never rule ZED as we/I/They/You & even God can not afford to have U5 + Bana HH to to be the first lady for our beautiful country….we cannot risk takin mabisi to state house unless cows start flying….

    • @ Mushota, Those qualifications you are masquereding with are from the University of Matero.

    • Why even talk about Kabimba on a National level? The chap doesn’t even have any support within the PF.

I know we have a comedian right now, but Presidency has not become that cheap. PLEEEAASE

  2. Will be disaster for Zambia, Wynter is way arrogant with no respect for people. It will be another Sata, continuation of insults and abuse of office. Leadership is about the 70% Liking you – 30% Dislike Rule but with 100% Trusting you. I do not see that in this arrogant so called Justice Minister. We have other better people than these PF thugs. The 5 Years term is enough. Let’s try others. Come 2016 Kuya bebele. We want a better Zambia and that is not possible with PF in Power.

    • @THE PRINCE
Who thought Sata would be president? The Zambian voter is a strange creature, they just might drag in Kabimba or some other disagreeable character. I have completely lost all hope that the voter will have the required sense of judgement and discernment to pick a credible candidate like HH, Miyanda or Chipimo Jr. The idea is the more uncouth, violent, dishonest, immoral, undemocratic, stup!d, insane, uncontrollable, jealous, vindictive, malicious and hateful the presidential aspirant is, now this is the ideal candidate they would rather entrust with custody of our God-given wealth.

  3. mangani was there at paramount chief Mpezeni’s palace. Check other pictures on this tour. Mangani was spotted sited down at the palace. Please reporters from Richard sakala Daily nation tell us the truth. Not at any point did he say that. You are layers.Big layers, never trusted.Winter please move on and make PF a strong party.

  4. Let my Wynter alone ! The guy never said anything of the sort.We all know that our next president in PF will be either Gyven Lubinda or Miles Sampa.

    • @Saulosi

Thats wishful thinking. Sata has anointed his son already. Wake up man and smell the coffee. Some us may be in UK but we are in state house day and night! Data just follows unsolicited.
Sata wants Mulenga to take over Kabwata constituency had it not been for the threat from UPND. So he is left with one choice, to disappoint one of the appointed MPs and replace him with his son. Once he is an MP he will then move him to defence and finally support him to be the SG just before the elections. That will make him the heir to the throne easily with the help of a rubber stamp convention where only those supporting Mulenga will be delegates.Mark my words on this day and enter it into your diary
However ,the dilemma remains; who ever takes over PF will be no match to HH.

    • @soulosi
Kabimba is most hated minister Zambia has ever seen,,,, so making him PF leader for is a big hate risk,,,,,, and i know for sure zambians can never risk zambia to be the most hated nation on earth by letting kabimba to rule

  5. satanists are really creating rumors to bring pf down. PF is more organised than mmd. We have plan of how to annoint our leader. But for now there is no need bcoz his excellence is well. Why are u pipo trying to create acrymony in our highly organised pf

    • @other side: which Satanists?? I though PF have failed Zambians and are the ones behaving like being ruled by a Satan. We never had such violence in the history of Zambia, but with PF Government. It has become the norm. How after making all promises are you PF cadres angry when people are questioning your deliveries. Believe you me, it is better to accept mistakes than pretend and encourage violence. PF needs PRAYER for redemption. So check your Ministers and cadres before calling others Satanists.

  6. Red lips kabimba is not presidential material, red lips can only be a president of Masebos private parts and he cannot be president of Zambia.

  7. God of heaven has not abonded us but He is still interested in our affairs. He alone knows the future for our Zambia. At the right time He will provide us a leader.

  8. Lets talk about sata and not this rabit scared boi. Mentioning jimboes sends him peeing in the pants.

  9. kabimba insensitive as to which language suits which audience. he has to be reflective, let pass that which doest not befit his response, loyalty is not stop defending wrongs, listen to advise lie Edgar Lungu, strength of leadership does not lie in arrogance.if he work on these weakness, he can be a leader since presidency is for every one who is upright.
Law does not qualify a person to handles leadership. Sata is what he is today because some of his ministers have failed him. Sata is an experienced politician without limbs

  10. Iyeeeee image!
Abalungula kwtibaliba salula…… Iyi yeva si presidential image, zambians should refuse by all means! How can one person fail to score even in one area? Looks….. Zero, public attraction whether pulling the politically or against winning cases? Nill! Work relations with colleagues, no points! What scores can we record? Aaaaaaaha….. Kissing and wipping the big mans dusty shoes! What a waste!

  11. The strange behaviour of the so-called “A-Team”, comprised of Kabimba, Guy Scott, Nkandu Luo, the unjust Judge Lombe Chibesakunda, Mutembo Nchito, Mumba Malila, Musa Mwenye and such “useful PF-appendages” as Dr. Mathibibi, Namulambe, Daniel Munkombwe and Mmembe, is amounting to placing the Bembas into total political extinction.

Their incessant attacks on the Chitimukulu further seals any chance of a Bemba becoming a future President of this country. If this group is capable of insulting their own King and the people of Kasama who voted them into power, then no one from other parts of Zambia will ever trust their word. God Hear Our Prayers.

  12. ..no smoke without fire……
This must be a very salivating and good news for the opposition. Opposition must encourage this ‘rumour’ to mature into reality. Kabimba for president 2016…yayayayayaya!!!!

  13. Two representatives of a listening govt are sitting listening to the people. I really hope their thoughts are with the people in the audience. I really do because their body language is very good, assuming they are absorbed in what they have to do. The man with arms folded even if I can’t see his face seems to be sending the right signals. For me this is one of the best political image so far this year. Last but not the least the dark image next to Mangani, well there is a black sheep in any situation.’Zambia is headed for great things’ is what this image represents, let’s be positive for once otherwise there Will be a clampdown on online media.

    • And how that clamp-down will be effected? Increasing ZESCO black-outs? Be serious man, they cannot stop ZWD for past two years.

  14. @Mphangwe take your corrosive tribalism where it belongs. Spare us the the Bemba people and stop poking your nose into the Chitimukulu issue.

  15. SINCE WHEN DID HAVING AMBITIONS BECAME AN OFFENCE IN ZAMBIA?IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AMBITIONS,ITS THE SAME AS A DEAD PERSON.I HAVE AMBITIONS OF BEING A COUNCILLOR OR AN MP IN 2016,WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?I NEED A SERIOUS ANSWER FROM THOSE WHO ARE CONDEMNING WINTER KABIMBA FOR HAVING PRESIDENTIAL AMBITIONS.I JUST WANT TO REMIND WINTER TO REMAIN CALM YOU, STANDS A BETTER CHANCE TO SUCCEED MR SATA.LEADERS ARE IDENTIFIED IN TIMES OF TROUBLE AND CONFUSIONS,THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE JOINING PF NOW,WHERE THE SAME WHO WHERE INSULTING AND BEATING MR SATA,REMEMBER WILLY NSANDA,GABRIEL NAMULAMBE ONCE CALLED SATA A MAD PERSON,THE LIST IS ENDLESS!!

    • How those “ambitions” are expected to be materialized?
Through democratic election as stated in the current Constitution? Or by the means of appointment of “one party” State?
By the way, who is joining PF now? I did not hear of any patients from mental institutions are missing.

  16. Now I understand why RUPIAH BANDA kicked Lameck Mangani from his inner circle. Lameck Mangani is a sell-out through and through and PF must be very careful how they deal with him. There are just groups of people who will forever be known for being unreliable, untrustworthy, and treacherous. I feel sad for him, because Mangani will end up growing old miserably in abject poverty. Already he was struggling when he went to HEMCS to beg for a job. Mr Sata told him openly and it was widely reported that even though he gave him a job Mr Sata still didn’t trust him. We all know this all the work of Lameck Mangani, the i.d.i.o.t. who thinks he owns Eastern Province. I don’t know, probably it’s true that Lameck Mangani owns Eastern Province since there is hardly any other name there.

  17. If ugly HH fails in 2016, it will be 20 years in opposition, we cannot allow another ugly president in Zambia who does not look after his Hair and dress code.

  18. its sims tribalism as takn a centre stage in the zambian politics but de problem is wt de opositn dey ar not unted how many opostn do we av? they are to selfish luk at the way they av bn divided they are evn sayn come 2016 change of govnmt where dats day dream.upnd has bn involved in so many pact but all av failed reasom selfishnes
