Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili has threatened to sue The Post and Times of Zambia newspapers for publishing a story in which he is reported to have called the referee who handled the Nkana-Etoile Du Sahel match stupid.
Kambwili on Saturday confronted Ethiopian ref Bamlak Weyesa after Nkana beat Tunisian club Etoile 4-3 in a CAF Confederation Cup match in Kitwe .
Speaking during a media briefing at his residence in Luanshya on Sunday, Kambwili denied calling Weyesa stupid but admitted telling off the ref.
He gave the two newspapers 48 hours in which to retract the story failure to which he will sue the media institutions and the two reporters in their individual capacities.
“I said that I was extremely disappointed with the manner the referee had handled the game and that it was such kind of refereeing that had destroyed football in Africa,” he said.
“I am urging The Post to retract that story I am giving them 48 hours failure to which I will take legal action,” Kambwili said.

If Kambwili heard himself or not it is very possible that he could say word “stupid”, because that what we used to hear from his boss Ba Sata (before he got so ill). The PF words are:

Kambwili has just to convince CAF and FIFA that its NORMAL in Zambia to insult fellow adults, including ministers themselves. Kambwili is stupid.
Actions speak louder than words, his gesture to the referee suggests he insulted him. Kambwili should be fired. He is the fattest Minister of sports I ever seen.

Indeed, if such words were used in the past or are still being used, is it not our duty to say and continue saying they were and are bad words rather than fall in the same trap and start using them as well? Let us continue advising those who use them in our social media that such words should not be used because they are not good words or phrases at all. In Bemba they say, “Umupama pamo watulile ing’oma” (they will eventually listen and stop) and that, “Mwamina bantu tanaka”(do not get tired when it comes to giving advise to a person until he/she changes)! I look forward to a day when everyone will get tired of reading insults in some of these social media so that these same social media start giving us things that build us and respect our values.

Why are politicians especially the pf being insulted like this daily. Im not a cadre neither do i support any part but i think its too much of insulting our leaders everyday. People show some respect they were elected by the zambians through the law so respect them and provide building comments. Its a curse to insult yr parents and leaders

The best thing is to play the footage bt i dont think the minister did say anyway no one was happy with the way the game was officiated i for one was in the stadium and i was very puzzled to see that even things that can be played back people bribe even this time i cant believe tht late penalty so u pipo who r talking nonsense about Kambwili its just hatred u hv 4 him leave him pls dont b too jealous tht game was badly officiated me iam very upset 4 tht refere.
