Kabimba’s Immaturity and Insecurity
We find the statement attributed to PF Secretary General and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba, likening UPND President Hakainde Hichilema to a ka Ndanji or young Nyau as not only irresponsible and immature, but highly belittling and an insult to a lot of our people and tribal groupings that practice this tradition practice.
The same people in Western province, Kabimba was insulting as quoted in yesterday’s Post newspaper, our brothers and sisters in North-Western and Eastern provinces all practice this Nyau/Ndanji cultural dance and we wonder how the PF now wants votes from them.
We have very high respect for all Zambian cultural practices and traditions and we believe that a person who is not grounded on culture and tradition is equivalent to a tree without roots, this is Wynter today.
In fact, in UPND, we believe that some of these traditional practices such as Nyau or Ndanji dances should be promoted to the international level as part of tourism instead of denouncing them like Kabimba and his party is doing.
It has now become too common for the PF leadership to always resort to insults bordering on tribal innuendos as they always lack substance on important national matters such as the economy.
People of Zambia are currently going through serious economic hardships due to complete lack of leadership and when senior PF leaders like Kabimba have an opportunity to tell the electorate what they are doing to alleviate their poverty, all they hear are insults.
Since it is now clear PF leaders can no longer offer solutions to our people other than insulting them, perhaps the best they can do is for all of them to just follow their president Michael Sata and go into political hibernation and allow us in UPND to offer the necessary leadership that is missing.

HH is far above Kabimba. In fact Kabimba is just jealous and afraid of HH and UPND, and thats why he wants to arrest HH so he can have no opposition to the presidency. But Wynter will never get the presidency. Even his fellow PF won’t allow that to happen, and I agree with most PF member, Kabimba is not presidential material. So Kabimba, just leave HH alone.
As a Zambian associated with this cultural practice, I feel insulted by this statement.

If kabimba was in north western province, he would be caged in mukanda and told a lesson he will never forget as it is taboo (chizhila) to make such pronouncements in public. Grow up and practice politics of maturity instead of verbal ret hardness depicting shallow thinking capacity.

When I was growing up in the seventies, we likened anything ugly and frightening as cinyau. Kabimba is right to liken HH to a cinyau? Kikikikikiki

Just wondering if UPND will ever exist after 2016. am seeing a lot of squabbles within UPND to who takes over affairs of the Party after so many embarrassment from HH.

UPND will never be popular in Zambia as long as it has no support in Eastern, Luapula, Northern, Muchinga, Copperbelt, Lusaka and nothern parts of Central provinces. No amount of campaigns will change this fact. Southern Province taught people how to vote.
Remind them, they want to pretend but they know it. Let me remind them too “UPND can only be lead by a Tonga”. This is very fresh in our minds.
@ musonda yes sometime back but now things are different HH is the man on the ground wait for the by elections. yu will see. The issue of UPND can only be led by a tonga is no longer making sense in Zambia today. People do not care anymore…about that tonga UPND issue. Times have move on and Zambians are looking forward.
the problem i see in our zambian politics we a so tribal especially our friends, if u say anything against hh that means you have insulted everyone in those provinces bt we have seen how mr.sata has been insulted by same leaders almost every day bt no bemba tribe issue statements that we hav o bn insulted that y even if im not a bemba , bemba tribe is so civilised

Is HH so disgusting that he can not even likened to Chinyau for kapita to react like that. Infact Kabimba likened HH to Small or fake Chinyau and not to the genuine Chinyau.
Respect each others traditions . Kandanji is not the same as nyau please! Kabimba misdirected himself and should not be allowed to get away with it. I am from North Western and a kandanji is a graduate of the mukanda ceremony and perhaps Winter does not know the difference given that where he comes from they are uncircumcised as we call them in North Western “VILIMA” . He does not even qualify to comment on any kandanji.
I challenge all north westerners that the moment he sets foot in our area we should initiate him so that he knows what a kandanji is. Useless gentile he should be taught a lesson!!!!!!!!

If you missed the meaning of what Kabimba said then don’t blame him. Just come out clear that the reason you are coming out that way is because you hate Kabimba as a person for no apparent reason, we will respect you. But don’t start stretching what he said into something daft in your mind. Kabimba’s statement meant well. We may not come from your province but we know what a “ndanji” is, no one needs to go to UNZA to know that. A ndanji simply represents an inexperienced adolescent being prepared for adult life. Kabimba was simply saying HH is not yet experienced enough to be president. He was using cultural analogies for people in Kaoma who have the same culture as you north-westerners to easily understand his message. Do you Zambians just enjoy complaining or what?

There is no insult in what Kabimba said, please don’t over politicize the good and political statement the SG stated, and no in western province is upset. I one day got onto a minibus and I heard one man shouting at the Minibus driver saying,” Why are you minibus and Tax Drivers behave like ba PF? The man said so because the driver misbehaved by stopping on the main and bussy road when a heavy truck went into the pavement and hit into the ZESCO pole by avoiding to hit into the minibus which was fully loaded with passengers.
