The United Party for National Development (UPND) General Secretary Winston Chibwe has advised Chieftiness Nkomesha of the Soli people to stop issuing statements that are politically biased.

Commenting on the recent statement by her royal highness during the official opening of Chiawa Bridge in which she praised the PF government stating that the PF had managed to do what the MMD government had failed to do in 20 years, Mr. Chibwe said the Chieftiness should stop issuing such statements which are political in nature and stick to representing her subjects.

Mr. Chibwe said her royal highness should be the last person to issue such statements against former ruling parties because she was a Minister long before MMD took over office a position she should have used to lobby for the same bridge.

“The thing is she can’t be saying those things about MMD when she was in government herself. Obviously you don’t know that she was a minister in the UNIP government, why didn’t she build the bridge,” Mr. Chibwe wondered.

He added, “she is a wrong person to be saying those things about the MMD instead she should just appreciate that the bridge has been built and keep quiet. She not start saying MMD what; I mean I’m not promoting MMD but she was in government for 27 years and MMD was there for 20 years so why didn’t they build the bridge because the kafue river has been there before since before she was not even born.

She ate with MMD and now that its the PF in office she wants to eat with them.”

  1. Your royal highness in case you didn’t know that bridge was planned by the MMD govt. and funded mostly by the World bank. That bridge should have been called Chiawa bridge or Chiefteness Nkomeshya Memorial Bridge.
In any case the bridge will be renamed as Chiawa bridge come 2016.

    • Your royal huleness, it takes long to plan and construct million dollars infrastructure projects. MMD initiated the process and PF completed it, so both parties should be praised. You also need to praise UPND for putting pressure on the government to equally distribute wealthy in all parts of the country otherwise the resources for that bridge would have gone to Muchinga province.

  2. The chiefteness nkomesha mukamaambo sounds more like a carder bt anyway mukamaambo u must say u’re very stupid…

    • Lamfras don’t insult as it only demonstrates how back ward you are.Chiefs should be not involve themselves in politics or risk to lose their respect.Chiefteness Nkomesya risks to be put on list of useless Tonga chiefs like Chief Mwanachingwala, who was singing songs about MMD were is he now.Bama Ba nkomesya pliz preserve your integrity these political parties come and go but chieftneship is for life.

  3. The statement bu Mr Chibwe shows why UPND will struggle to win hearts and minds in Zambia. I cannot see much difference between them and PF in some aspects; they are media hungry with no clear political strategy. PF picked a fight with Chitimukulu and UPND feeling left out are picking a fight with Nkomesha; what do the two parties seek to gain? Why do these political parties feel the need to always have a comment even on trivial issues? I believe that both the PF and UPND lack discipline, leadership and clarity of thought; they will not bring the desired change in 2016. They are more interested in appearing in the news than dealing with problems that Mutendereman faces.

    • @Manlove

Your level of understanding of Zambian politics and your ability to analyse political issues is seriously warped by the fact that PF has disappointed you dismally. And now you want to paint the mighty UPND with same brush as the failed PF. Who are you to say UPND is as indisciplined as the PF when the PF president(Sata) and SG(Kabimba) are both on record condemning the PF party members including ministers as being useless and the most indisciplined .

Hate UPND all you like, but the fact is UPND ‘s influence is growing in all areas of Zambia. Kabimba made HH to appear before a Kitwe Judge thinking that there would no one to offer massive support like in Lusaka. To shame all the PF minions, HH received a thunderous welcome in Kitwe. Even the judge could sent HH to jail.

    • Wanzelu, what have I written that shows a warped understanding of Zambian politics? You want to know who I am to comment on Zambian affairs? I am a registred Zambian voter with the right to an opinion just as you have a right to yours. What I have written is factual; what are you disputing? I have no political inclination at present and I am the type of registered voter that your party should be trying to impress – it just is not happening for me. Moreover, your keyboard tiger mentality of thinking that my opinion does not matter actually backs my original post; your party does not have a strategy to win hearts and minds as you want to fight anyone who does not sing your praises or those of your dear leader.

  4. UPND! so petty why shouldn’t the chief give credit due? you will also get praises when you time comes . as for now they cant praise you for what? ati” she should praise UPND for pushing the government to distribute wealth everywhere” what kind of thinking is that?

    • All of you who are condemning UPND should reflect on this fact.Chiefs are like our parents. When a chief starts to show signs of favouritism towards one political party is likely going to cause jelousy among his subjects just like a parent who shows favours to one child ,when in fact he or she has ten children.Do you expect other children to remain quite? The answer is no.A chief should above partisan politics just like the church. Were will party leaders run too for councel when chiefs and church leaders are baised ,you see what iam saying.

  5. Leave her alone. She just said the truth. We know the truth hurts you bitter people haters and one province party. Childish

  6. Nkomesha said the truth, PF and Sata have built Chiwala bridge in 2 years which MMD failef to do in 20 years. Please UPND insulting her loyalness. Remember she has votes for 2016,

  7. That money is not coming frm MMD nor PF’s pockets. They don’t put money into gvt coffers but they get. The govt feeds them, they don’t feed the the gvt . Family men I can’t praise u for buying bread for your children bcoz its your responsibility. I can’t praise the gvt for building a bridge, its their responsibility. Development is not just building bridge. MMD also did something,UNIP also. Pipo be concerned about the country not political parties.

  8. who doesn’t know that, chieftainess Nkomesha is a staunch PF cadre with her niece Sylvia Masebo. if you don’t know then you must be very dull, uneducated pf cadre. Pf are very funny, ati renaming a bridge as a gift to Sata’s 77th birthday.how a bout Dr Kaunda’s 77th birthday, which bridge have we renamed as a gift. PATHETIC FOOLS indeed.

  9. Why UPND is crying when MMD is not….anyway MMD is not interested in UPND cause of suspicious nature of HH… we do not need any pact with UPND hence don’t speak on our behalf UPND

    • Maybe Chibwe is about to defect to the MMD after the loss of mangango. UPND’s strategies are very confusing that’s why its very difficult for them to get into state house.

  10. Please the the chietnainess alone. Actually she was just merely suggesting to name the bridge after Sata. If suggesting to name a bridge after Sata is political, then I don’t where we are heading to. The problem is that UPND doesn’t want anything to be named after bembas. Chiluba who initiated the HIPC which Mwanawasa got the credit for has never been named after Chiluba on any important structure. But Mwanawasa benefited from what Chiluba started and everything is now named after him. Am sure UPND would have had no problem calling the bridge after any of the so called Bantu botatwe names. Name an important building named after a Bemba? It is Levy this, Levy that! If that is what the Chieftainess wants, to name the bridge after Ssta, let it be. It is her area.

  11. A chief is like a parent. Very true. Perhaps the only mistake made by the chief is that of comparing PF to MMD; otherwise I see no reason why a parent cannot praise a son who has helped him with a piece of chitenge, especially the bridge for the area.

True Zambians, people must trust should learn to look at issues, not personalities. I think most influential Zambian parties arguments are attacks on personalities, not issue-based. Let us strive to grow morally, if we are to demonstrate Zambia as a God-fearing state, not otherwise.

  12. Besides, this woman so called Chieftenacy Nkomesya was in UNIP for 27 years and why did she fail to build that bridge??

  13. HRH Nkomesha, has a wonderful ability to critic the past accurately without favour to her own failures. She was correct to thank PF for finally going ahead in building the bridge and to point out others had not managed to do so.

She praised Sata, because she is a consummate diplomat!

  14. Mr Chives is being mature and sensible. ite not about him being UPND or MMD. chieftainess nkomesha is a fool. she has taken Solis down a fruitless battle with MMD to the point of lies and stupidity. like Chibwe said, she was in the UNIP Govt but did nothing. so she just shut up.

  15. I don’t know why upnd hate bembas so much.i think upnd should tame their tongues if they really want to be voted into power.upnd can not win an election without bemba votes and me personally as a bemba, I will never vote for upnd. I also urge my fellow bembas, their children, grand children and great grand children never to vote for this current upnd until further notice.we shall not allow these chaps to continue insulting us and expect a vote from us.enough is enough.if you hate sata why hate all bembas.let your fellow tongues continue voting for you.

  16. @joepapa, show me were and how upnd insulted you and your clans men? dull nigga. like a tick still stuck to a carcass. wake up my brother !!!!
