Leadership Conferences Foundation, the organizers of the Jubilee Conference slated for Friday, 5th September 2014, has dismissed as a baseless and malicious lie that the conference is designed to prop up Mulenga Sata’s presidential ambitions.
Conference Coordinator Stanley Mhango in a statement made available to QFM News today has expressed surprise and regret at the claims by a named online publication.
Mr Mhango says the report is false in its fact and in its information, designed by known persons with malicious intent to scuttle an initiative that is meant to celebrate the Golden Jubilee, recognize the work of the forefathers and mothers and use the spirit of the Jubillee to bring people together.
He says the Leadership Conferences Foundation (LFC) is a non-profit organization set up by Oscar Chavula, Beatrice Mwila, Kellys Kaunda, Nakiwe Simpungwe, Stanley Mhango, Emmanuel Mwamba, James Mwenda and Cleophas Phiri as mere pioneers to bring Zambians together and promote the agenda of Zambia as the foremost goal.
Mr Mhango explains that to bring this idea to life, they decided to host a leadership conference that would act as a platform or forum for Zambians that would reflect on the last 50 years and help plan for the next 50 years.
He states that many Zambians of goodwill have joined forces with them to help usher a better Zambia in the next 50 years.
Mr Mhango adds that they have since received confirmations from among other people Dr Reverend Japhet Ndhlovu of the United Church of Canada who is also former Council of Churches in Zambia General Secretary,Bishop Alick Banda of Ndola Catholic Diocese, Zambia Episcopal Conference President Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu, Bishop John Mambo and veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga.
He further states that speakers include young members of Parliament such as Miles Sampa,Cornelius Mweetwa,Vincent Mwale and Garry Nkombo and one of Zimbabwe’s young Ministers Savior Kasuwere, who is Minister of Environment.
Mr Mhango adds that Foundation has also picked Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata,Dr Maureen Mwanawasa and Dora Siliya.
He says the idea of the conference is bigger than any one, and that at the core of the agenda is a brighter future for Zambia, and that the conference will go on as planned.
But what this Mhango guys is saying is pretty much what the Watchdog reported.

If you are looking for names of speakers at the conference, I suggest Kaunda and RB. These are people who ruled Zambia before. They could be asked to talk about what they would have done differently if they were president of Zambia all over again. Then pick at least one traditional leader, say Chief Nzamane of eastern province and Mwanachingwala of Southern province or Bob Luo ( Disputed Chief Chibesankunda), just saying. I am not sure though about Miles Sampa.

The whole project is aimed at keeping the presidency to Bembas. Just look at the names mentioned there. But of course a few slaves from Chipata have to be used as toilet paper again.
