VICE President Dr Guy Scott has declared that President Michael Sata is able to discharge his duties accordingly.
The Vice President said when he addressed a meeting at Mkoma II village to drum up support for Patriotic Front(PF) Margaret Miti in the Vubwi September 11th Parliamentary by-election in Vubwi on Tuesday that the Head of State was discharging his duties contrary to the falsehood of some sections who were alleging that President Sata was sick.
He explained that the people of Vubwi must ignore to the falsehood which some society were spreading that the Head of State was sick.
“As I am talking, President Sata is working and able to discharge his duties accordingly contrary to the falsehood by some section who are saying the President was sick,”Dr Scott said.
He said it was also falsehood by some people that former president Rupiah Banda would bounce back into politics.
He said Mr Banda retired from politics adding that people should not be cheated by the propaganda from the opposition that the former head of state would bounce back into power.
“PF retired Mr Rupiah Banda when he lost the 20th September 2011 and it is now a propaganda by the opposition that the former president will bounce back into politics,”he said.
Speaking earlier,Energy Deputy Minister Charles Zulu said the Government has released K6 million for the electrification of Vubwi district.
Mr Zulu who introduced himself as a person who grew from Vubwi said it was painful that the area had remain develop under the former regimes.
He said Government shall drill more boreholes in order to cushion the water shortage in the new district.
Eastern Province Minister Malozo Sichone said the PF Government was busy fulfilling the campaign promises through various infrastructure developments such as the Chipata-Vubwi-Chadiza road which was being constructed by China Jiangxi International Corporation(CJIC).

Honestly, why is he telling people about this now that there a By election? Our electrol laws and systems need to be re-built because this is total corruption of electrolates. Besides its a government responsibility to provide all these things to the people of this once great nation, now? And why mention this at a compaign rally? This would be comtept of court in the court systems.
If indeed Sata is fine, why is it that in the Mangango by-election and the Sept 11th by-election, the man hasnt visited any of the constituencies and yet in all the other by-elections the man has visited the constituencies. A sure sign that not all is well.

If he is fit and healthy why is behaing the way he is doing – keeping out of sight. It is just so unfair that the head of state has withdrwan from people who ele ted him. The UPND confusion of statements between Cornelius Mweetwa and Canicius Banda and an attempt to correct the situation by the ‘professional’ defector Edwin Liwekelo puts very bad light on the UPND. UPND will not win a national election for as long as it fields an unpopular candidate like HH. UPND is masquerading to be popular but come 2016 it will fail to win the national election. HH only managed to get 45,000 votes in Lusaka during the recent past national election of 2011 unlike his predecessor Anderson Mazoka who amassed 79,000 votes in the same province 13 years ago during the 2001 national election.

@ Zebron: A point we can’t honestly run away from is that, since the demise of Mazoka, both PF and MMD have been the stronger rivals relative to UPND. That is no longer the case. MMD still needs more time for introspection while PF is on the decline. Under the best of circumstances, 2016 could end-up being neck-to-neck between PF and UPND.
