  1. As a young man, he inspired me on never giving up on your dreams. He never gave up on his dream of becoming president. RIP Mr. Sata. My prayers with the family and my fellow Zambians.

    • I don’t feel sad for Kaseba at all. This woman is a medical doctor and not too long ago she stood on a mountain declaring her husband was fit, healthy and working hard, when we all could see the man was a sackof bones! On top of that she dragged him to the USA so she could receive her award at the UNGA. When Sata collapsed and was treated by New York medical doctors, out came Mulenga Sata stating his father was fine while Scot and Chellah called the entire NYPD liars for stating Sata was treated in a hotel room. Now you want to mourn with the nation when you treated the Zambian people like imbeciles and villains when they asked what was wrong with the president? Wipe your tears woman, Mulenga Sata and you Scot. That is not Sata in a coffin it’s his new car!

    • Chabipa mwe. My condolences to the Sata family. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven, a time to be born and a time to die”. At least Mr. Sata achieved what many will never achieve. He ran his race and he has completed it. What more can you ask for? RIP Shikulu.

    • @Mr Dalitso, I wholeheartedly agree with you. But please just sympathise with these guys. This is not the time for attacks. You what power does; it takes out reality from these guys. Reality has struck, and they have come to their sense. So please just show compassion and mourn with them. I am sure the Sata family are back to their normal self. Kazim Sata won’t behave the way he used to.

    • @Dalitso, I understand your sentiments and that is exactly how I would describe these people who were close to Sata. They really denied him many things and opted to send him to the grave faster. But in the meantime let us mourn Sata and we have all the right to call them names as we see it fit!

    • This funeral reminds me of my first feeling of sorrow, my Grandfather’s funeral. I don’t why, but I WEPT again today.

    • Thank You HH to be among mourners. True leader. Look at HH’s face, be strong brother, don’t cry. Yes who else will ever tolerate you, what a good person Sata was, and HH knows. HH is a transformed man.

      Where was Miyanda?

    • @MM Le Grand Patron Wa Zabanga

I understand Dalitso’s feelings, and I can assure you it’s so unbelievably difficult to keep silent, even at this moment. This late president has actually been pushed to earlier death by none other than those close to him, the cabinet, family and cadres. We the caring people said he was dying, ‘THEY’ said we are haters who should be arrested. I mean it was so plain both quacks and lay people could see Sata was on his way out but ‘THEY’ rebelled even against common sense. Well now ‘THEY’ are eulogizing the man with eyes filled with crocodile tears and waxing hypocritically lyrical about what a hero he was.

    • @Daliso: spot on, really sad for Sata that he had wrong people around him. Forcing him to work just for their benefit. MHSRIP. Dr kaseba is not a good woman and sure she was crying that she will no longer be the first lady than mourning the husband.

Zambian sisters never ever subject your husbands to such. Moreover people will respect you more if you force your husband to step down on medical grounds. They will see you as caring. Not what Mama Kaseba did. Very wrong??? And have no respect for her.

    • @Nostradamus
Ba Miyanda was banned fom the funeral by the acting president Scot because his writting on Lusaka times…. and My president Ba Mpombo also was denied special permission to attend the funeral,
Didnt someone remind mama kaseba that its unafrica to wear glasses ku chilio??
Otherwise @Dalitso is very much on point,,,those vultures who were around Sata murder him.

    • No PF member, including on this blog, ever admitted that Sata was unwell. Now they`re pouring crocodile tears. If Sata surrounded himself with sensible people and not retards, maybe, it could be a different story.

    • @Dalitso

Sata did not need to have been stressed to an early grave by hungry politicians and an uncaring wife.

Former first lady, Kaseba, what have you now gained? Others have already said why you cry. Stupid selfish woman. You lied that Sata was fit and working. If Sata was your son, would you surely have done this to him. May you forever remain a despised widow with no man to ever touch you. Kaseba, you are ma rubbish.

    • dalitso , fuxk you !

mourn the president , you are not a zambian at all as well.

dont use the name of (dalitso), you are fuxking misleading the public and funs of the real dalitso.

      stupiid!

    • Chris

Dalisto has presented facts and respond with insults…I believe its people like you and all those who forced the burden of lies on Sata who are not ‘Zambians’! You and your friends want us to believe that this was a sudden death?!!

    • Purely you sound uneducated and useless for your negativity regardless of previous incidents, reports and information about the president’s health. Protocol and efficiency are put first before making public remarks on a national leaders’ well being. As a thoughtful person u saw he was unwell so you didn’t need an official statement given the time, also to further cause confusion of other Zambian citizens that would have a mindset like you. Progress and maturity is essential in our analysis. reply to this if you can say something sensible otherwise go read a book

    • From page 7 to page 15,Surely Ba LT did you have to show us graphically how the first lady is in agony over the loss her loved one?

  2. Very emotional pictures and sad occasion LT, if you ask me. I pray that God grants Mr. Sata’s family strength to be able to go through this trying moment.

  3. COMRADE SATA,A REAL PATRIOT IAM AFRAID ZAMBIA MIGHT NOT SEE SUCH KIND OF A PATRIOT APART FROM YOU.YOU HAVE RUN YOUR RACE THOUGH NOT UP TO WANT YOU WANTED BUT THANKS FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR,HOPE IT WILL BE CONTINUED FROM WHOEVER TAKES OVER.MAY THE GOOD LORD STRENGTHEN THE ALL ENTIRE SATA FAMILY.

  4. Your heart aches for her when you see the anguish on Christine Kaseba’s face. As one human being to another, I empathize.

  5. He suffered privately. He died privately and as a private man, I am sure he would not have wanted this attention at his funeral. A life lost. Historians will record all that he has done and not done.
For the members of the family, the grief is accentuated by the public response, for good or for ill. He died peacefully and that should be a consolation. Millions more died in inhumane conditions, alone on the night streets, in hunger and poverty.
For the country. There will be another President. Zambia is greater than Sata. His curtain has come down on his act, another actor will step up for the next scene.

  6. This is really sad. Seeing Dr. Kaseba like that has broken my heart even more. What a sad time for our nation. RIP King Cobra. May God grant strength and comfort to the family.

  7. Dr Kaseba, are those genuine or crocodile tears? Isn’t this the same woman who paraded and humiliated her dying husband by dragging her along the steps leading to parliament while wearing her trade-mark smile? President Sata died a very sad man.
And that large chartered aircraft alone packed with family forest, I wonder how much it cost.

    • London eye, you may be entitled to your opinion but
this is one broken woman representing many of those who believed in MCS. She knew her husband better or did you?

    • @Chanda Musyalike, I agree with you on one point, I am entitled to my opinion. If so, what is your problem, do you want me to agree with you? I am no puppet. I have no problem with your views, they are yours.

    • Why are people being so hard on Dr Kaseba and others who surrounded the late President? Surely he could make his own decisions whatever advise was given to him. From what we all observed from his personality His Excellency was not one to take just anything served to him, he never minced his words. Therefore he must have sanctioned the secrecy and silence concerning the nature of his health.
He is now at peace, in a better place. Let’s try not to point fingers because we do not have the facts.
My sincere condolences to Dr Kaseba and the children.
May His Excellency’s soul rest in perfect peace.

  8. Thanks LT. But so many repititions on the pictures of Dr. Kaseba getting off the plane…. RIP Sata.

  9. Very sad. The recent photos of our President said it all that this day was near, and yet when the day actually arrives you still feel the shock and numbness that death brings.

  10. Kansi it is possible for Kasebanya not to smile? Is she still first lady or should the title now be former first concubine?

    • Please let’s not judge we really don’t know who never listened to who do you think our president was going to listen to his wife’s advice just knowing the kind of man he was mi believe he couldn’t step down minus fulfilling his promise we also contributed to his early. Departure because we wanted him to do the impossible he might have been sick looking at the time he had left for his term he wanted to leave things in place he stressed himself.

  11. I knew it! I knew it that Sata would come back as cargo! Any way did they have to hire that huge plane for all the family forest? It’s times to flash out all the cockroaches from the govt and Zambian embassies!

  12. Senior family members of late president Michael Sata are now accusing his widow of having contributed to his death.

  13. I fill sorry 4our generation ,sure mature pipo without respect 4 the died the bible tells us that you’ll soul wat u reap & let us be careful God can be never mocked

    • No one is mocking God by calling a Spade a Spade, those that mocked God, said the Guy was Fit & only went for a Medical Checkup, so we wonder whether he was run over by a car whilst he jogged in London!!

  14. Never liked his presidency but you can’t help it but feel for the man and his family. If only those who surrounded him never tried to suck his blood and profit from his illness may be he could have lived one more week or died peacefully at home. It didn’t have to come to this. For us who are left behind, we really need some soul searching so that what happened to this man should never happen to anyone else again. Was there really any need to lie and be in denial when the obvious was there for all to see? Just where were his wife, children, cabinet, doctors? Why was Mr Sata allowed to work all the way and die in office? I really need an answer to this question.

    • You wanted him to die a pauper and buried like a pauper HH.He fought for this Presidency and my wish was for him to die in moffice and accord him this kind of funeral status.Work hard also he fought and he has finished his race.MHSRIEP

    • He was a grown man and he could make up his mind to work till death or not. His health was his privacy to deal with. That is why there are people to cover for him. He was not one to just give up. Let it go and stop speculations. No one but Sata had the right to tell people he was sick. Besides if you could not see it, then you were blind. It is none of anyone’s business what illness he had, treatments he had or any of his personal business other than what he chose to reveal to you!

  15. My condolences family members, relatives and all the Zambians wherever you are, shame that we have a dark cloud……………..go well your Execellency this is too early, will miss you lots!

  16. To me he was the most accomplished politician, I have ever known in Zambia , I don’t know how long it will take for Zambians to have another one of his calibre, who ever walked with him also did well; all progressive Zambians will miss your greatness , what ever he set his heart to do he excelled ,and we shall live to see his works

    • I differ. Sata was a liar and misled the whole nation to celebrae lying through donchi kubeba. Let this period of legalised/accepted lying close and be buried with his body will on 11 November.

Almost everything about this man private and public was deception in motion. I wouldnt want even one politician to emulate this man.

    • Well said. It is times like these that should reminder us that the best decision in life is whether to accept Christ or not because of it’s eternal significance. The decisions we make now will follow us into the afterlife. My condolences to the family even though I disagreed with Sata’s style of leadership.

  17. I can’t understand the high level of foolishness of some bloggers who can still write noses about MCS. Anyway they will soon cry the loudest.

  18. FOR ANY FUNERAL no one initially ever cries for the deceases all the people connected to the deceased. We first cry for ourselves i.e. the emptiness in our lives left by the loss or in this case the changes in our immediate lives that the deceased’s departure will entail. We also start to think about how death could be near for us as well and this scares us. Only after all these thoughts do we think about the implication of the loss to others. Our initial oratory although is hypocritically about the loss of the deceased to the family. We are greedy beings designed like that. BURY SATA SO THAT THE COUNTRY CAN MOVE. LPM was buried and the nation moved on. WHAT’S ALL THE FUSS ABOUT. He was a great man anyway. MHSRIEP.

  19. Africans; Firstly the man was 77 years, suffered a heart attck, was a chain smoker, we watched his health deteriorate over the last couple of years. This could have happened last year, Africans!

  20. What a great man he was. He even knew his demise but he let people speculate, argue while he kept quiet. Remember he had the Govt. start building his official retirement home. The condition of service for a past President reads..” The govt shall build a dwelling house for a “former” president on a piece of land of his choice” Notice how it says former not incumbent. But no one dared to ask or even question him. It was an abrogation of the law! He instilled fear in his opponents, no one dared him. He took the administration of road works to his office so he could “himself” award contracts. Even when he appointed Guy Scott as vice the so called learned lawyers would not advise him against, the complications that we are about to see. Zambians, you are a very interesting bunch of @#$%!…

  21. We are all Zambians. We feel sorry for President Sata. Death does not know a political party or a tribe. When we are grieved we are all grieved. MHSRIP.

  22. Sad moment for mother Zambia, RIP my president, we have learned from you that in life that you have to believe in your dreams and persevere through the storms

  23. The real question is how so many educated people allowed him to die earlier than he should have? I can’t believe they all could not stop him him even though he wanted to continue? What would they lose if he stepped down? Which wife can fail to advise her husband on such a life question? This issue alone must surely lose the PF the election. But then again this is Africa.

    • Ask the Blo.ody CABINET!!! They were SOLELY TASKED BY THE CONSTITUTION to do it on behalf of the people THAT GAVE THE POWER – but alas, they were only interested in serving their As—s & earning a few more pieces of Silver!!!

  24. No PF member, including on this blog, ever admitted that Sata was unwell. Now they`re pouring crocodile tears. If Sata surrounded himself with sensible people and not retards, maybe, it could be a different story.

  25. Bwana Mebo just look at how they tried to resuscitate Mbigu Wamutarika when he died to an extent of breaking his ribs. That is Africa for you the leeches who depend on his favors pushed this man. He was literally walking dead at Parliament but the wife kept on laughing and pushing him. The Presidency must be very sweet as Chiluba once stated where you can even sacrifice your life because you are treated like a small God. They all die in foreign hospitals because they are more human than us. At least KK respected our institutions as some us attended UNZA with his son Wezi. The level of hatred left by this man among Zambians is a good recipe for genocide and so glad that he is no more because this country was heading for fire. Good to see Christine without make-up for the first time!

  26. CANT STOP CRYING…..TOMORROW AM IN LUSAKA TO PAY MY LAST RESPECT TO MY HERO, SUPERMAN, BATMAN, SANTOS TORIABA, VAN DAMME…OH MY PRESIDENT MICHEAL CHILUFYA SATA…MAY YO SOUL REST IN PEACE!!!!

  27. It’s sad to see those pictures! Nevertheless dealth is very common nowdays, but people dont learn a lesson. We don’t takecare of ourselves, pride take us noway but to the grave. Future leaders learn from KK.

Sata we a very good leader when he came into government. I remember how he pushed health works to work and made our hospital look clean. But sorry to say when he came to power as a prisident he lost the plot. The government failed us too. lied about him where about. We prayed for him despite not telling us the truth. We didnt want to know the disease, its not the end of the world to say am not well guys…. we are not God.

Rest in pease our beloved president. Zambian choose you because they believed in you.

Lets vote with our head when we choose the next leader!

  28. Kaseba tears!
    1. No more private jets!
    2. No more globe trotting anymore!
    3. No more first lady’s budget!!
    4. The presidential house is not yet complete! I told him to hurry with construction, now he is gone.
    5. No more private photographers to show how well I am living!
    6. All the relatives in foreign missions are coming back to my house!
    7. His relatives, sons, duaghters, concubines want a share of his properties!
    Nafwa ine Nafwa ine!!!
    8. Now I will be made to sit next to maureen at all state functions, why me, ba Sata!

  29. The military detail was rather sloppy. It brings to memory men and officers of the 1970s and ’80s who were really sharp.

I suggest that the gun carriage is modified so that guards do not sit but stand beside the coffin.

  30. ….. You are behind in thinking like butts, he insulted. I don’t feel him, never. Let’s bury quickly and move on. God is for all fortunately

  31. Selfishness, greedy, laxity, nepotism, etc is our downfall as Africans, our white brothers are busy developing in the western world.

  32. Now thats proper strapping of a casket, good job Zambia army. Why waste time being decorative when all you want is to secure it hahaha

    • what are you talking about , thats their respect to the leader! okay when you die , your fellow member becomes your decorate immediately . when your senior member dies , you are their decorate. silly , stuppiid

    • “Chris” first LEARN A BIT OF ENGLISH, then we might be able to discern what you are rambling on about, other wise stick to vernacular, we might even understand you better

    • I don’t know whether to feel sad or not, because when i thought the president was sick, just talking about his sickness was a lockable offense, what more saying that the president has died, i guess it will be treasonable.

  33. I dont know whether to feel sad or not, because when i thought the president was sick, just talking about his sickness was a lockable offense, what more saying that the president has died, i guess it will be treasonable.

  34. When sum of us r grievin, sum fools r rejoicin and passin silly comments,do these punks kno hw painful it is to lose sum1 u love? Or I get it they dont hav hearts

    • People are turning into beasts may be because death has not yet visited their homes.ubuntu bwalipwa its like we are now rising against one another. If you were not happy with the president you would have felt good if he failed the next elections unlike rejoicing his death we shall see if at all you will ever be greatful with who ever will come in power . rest in peace father

  35. THE MAN IS GONE. GONE GAVE HIM TO ZAMBIA (US) ONLY TO COME AND LAY HIGH GOVERNANCE STANDARDS AND HE DID. NO ZAMBIAN IS GOING TO ACCEPT LOW STANDARDS AFTER WE HAVE BEEN SHOWN BY SATA THE WAY THINGS MUST BE DONE. ONLY A VERY CLOSE AND BEST FRIEND (IN GUY SCOTT) OF SATA CAN CONTINUE SATA’S JOURNEY. IT IS A FACT THAT IT’S ONLY YOUR SPOUSE, PARENT, OR BEST FRIEND WOULD BE MORE LOYAL EVEN IN YOUR POSTHUMOUS STATE TO CONTINUE YOUR WISHES. GUY SCOTT IS SUCH A MAN WHO WAS SO CLOSE TO SATA AND KNOWS WHAT SATA REALLY WANTED TO DO FOR ZAMBIA. MAY GOD JEHOVAH BLESS ZAMBIA. I AM GOING TO MISS SATA AND ZAMBIA IS GOING TO MISS SATA. AMEN!

  36. I FEEL SO PITY FOR KASEBA. I FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO LOSE YOUR BELOVED SPOUSE. IT IS ONE OF THE MOST PAINFUL EXPERIENCES AND IT COMPLETELY DIS-ORIENTS YOUR LIFE. PEOPLE CLOSE TO HER PLEASE, HELP HER SURVIVE THIS EPISODE. IT IS THE MOST DANGEROUS EPISODE IN LIFE. ONE CAN EASILY FOLLOW HIS/HER DEPARTED LOVED ONE. MAY GOD BLESS CHRISTINE KASEBA AND CHILDREN. IT WILL NOT BE EASY FOR HER. BUT SHE MUST UNDERSTAND GRADUALLY THAT SATA WAS SENT TO ZAMBIA TO SHOW THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE HARDWORKING, SETTING ONE’S SELF FREE, LOVE AND CARE FOR THE POOR IN ZAMBIA. ZAMBIANS NOW MUST CONTINUE WHERE SATA LEFT OFF. I PERSONALLY, JUST CAN’T GET OVER IT HAVING WORKED TOGETHER WITH HIM ALMOST EVERYDAY FINISHING WORK AFTER MIDNIGHT. I WILL MISS SATA IN 1988.

  37. The man is no more. He inspired me to start following Zambian politics. Whoever will succeed him should continue with all developmental plans that are already on paper or being implemented. What a loss!!!! MHSRIEP

  38. The man’s legacy is that he tore the country apart along tribal lines! As for the soon to be former First Lady, sorry I do not feel any pity! The resources that they continue to misuse would have saved a lot of young lives who continue to die aimlessly at UTH and across the entire Country! Her loss of foreign trips, First Lady’s budgets, Range Rovers for each child, corruption, fake bright smiles et al cannot equate to the sufferings of millions of Zambians! Yeah am glad he us gone!

  39. Personally, I see no reason as to why we as zambians should start pointing fingers at each others instead of praying for Gods guidance and peace in our country..People that are blaming the first lady of having a hand in the presidents death are just cowards..Stop misleading others with your conotations, you are the same people that complain about everything…Human beings of this country need to grow up and start reasoning properly, cause it seems people dont know when to wash their hand and when to wash their faces….zambian aweee sure!!!!

  40. I wish someone had taken the pic of the plane coming into view with the ZAF fighter planes on it’s sides. They all looked stationery in the sky, and the silence of the masses at that point was so deafening.

  41. Zambians learn to mourn. Those with insulting words one day it will be your relative. We are mourning the President by virtue of being the custodian of many things in our Country.
What ever happens first let us get moving because this is part of life.We are wanderers on this universe. No one will stay permanently here.It is a passing phase…
God bless our Country as we mourn.

  42. it painful to every Zambians that the population in first ladies is increasing like weeds. we must pray of the our nation because this isn’t affecting the family members only but the all nation because more money is spent on funeral and the affecting development of the national.
MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN PEACE AND BE ASURED YOU MARK THE END OF THESE INCIDENTS

  43. death will never be normal any person who dies is new and first to die, we cannot get used on that fact. this is enough reason to mourn a dead person whether we can say the person was good or bad because we shall not see that person unless GOD presided over. therefore, let us mourn OUR LATE PRESIDENT – HIS EXCELLENCY MR.
