Government has asked Zimbabwean born boxer Charles Manyuchi to consider getting a Zambian citizenship.

Youth and Sports minister Chishimba Kambwili says government is ready to offer Manyuchi a national citizenship if he wishes.

Kambwili says Manyuchi who is a Zimbabwean national plying his boxing trade under Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) in Zambia has made not only his native country proud but Zambia as well through his boxing skills.

The Minister also said government is ready to offer Manyuchi an honorary citizenship as it did to former national soccer team coach Herve Renard.

ZANIS sports reports that the minister said this in an interview at Government Complex in Lusaka last evening shortly after watching Manyuchi and Catherine Phiri defend their boxing titles.

Manyuchi’s defend his WBC International welterweight title fight against Colombian Delvis Casseres whom he stopped via a third round TKO.

Catherine Phiri too retained her WBC female silver bantamweight belt in a lopsided fight against Kukiwe Nonina of South Africa.

Phiri beat Nonina via a second round TKO after the South African failed to come out for the third round.

Meanwhile, the Sports Minister has hailed upcoming young boxer Alfred Muwowo for putting up a good spirited fight against Zimbabwean Anyway Katunga.

Kambwili said Muwowo is a gifted boy and has a lot of potential to raise the Zambian flag high both locally and internationally.

17 years Muwowo beat Katunga in an anonymous points win after a five rounds fight.

    • Kambwili is the epitome of dullness. Zambians themselves can’t have dual citizenship and yet you can accord it to others? F you and F Zambia!

    • True, You CANNOT refuse Zambian’s Dual Citizenship, then say to the foreign Boxer, come on, we shall make you a “Dual Citizen”.
CONFUSION AS USUAL pa P.F. We then wonder why they sack, reinstate, sack again, & so forth. P.F should be confined to the dustbin, Never to be allowed to rear its Ugly head again!

  1. I was born and bred in Zambia by Zambian parents my are still alive but Zambia refuses to give me a Zambian citizenship!! This is BULLSH!T!!

  2. I was born and bred in Zambia by Zambian parents, my parents are still alive but Zambia refuses to give me a Zambian citizenship!! This is BULLSH!T!!

    • Why not? Could you please give details to your not getting citizenship because yours sounds even more sh…. IFor you were born in Zambia, you are Zambian.

  3. Fight for the new constitution and your wishes would become a formality. Winning at national level creates a feel good factor which translates in to more spending and job opportunities for the youth and entrepreneurs.

    • Ba puba aba bena. The sad part is, he doesn’t even know it.
You know if somebody said, I have a problem of dullness and I am working on it, would sound much better to me than somebody who does not even know that dullness is a self inflicted yet curable disease.

  4. Glad to hear he’s getting on with the job of Sports minister (albeit badly). Hopefully we wont hear that president nonsense from his mouth anymore.

  5. The BUFFOON Chishimba runs his mouth again…how dare he speaks in his capacity as a Minister does he not understand the diplomatic repercussions of such utterances. Moreover you have refused to give dual citizenship to fellow Zambians who would bring tangible economic benefits.

  6. ‘president’ Kambwili has too much fat in his brainYou cant take him seriously on anything.Come 20 january 2015 kuya bebele!!We need a new breeze of fresh air in Lusaka.GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.
