Movement for Multiparty Democracy MMD National Secretary Muhabi Lungu has directed suspended party president Nevers Mumba to stop behaving like an ordinary member by going round the country campaigning when he is suspended.

Mr. Lungu said Dr. Mumba should stop acting as though he is not suspended as per national committee resolution which suspended him and that the party has only on presidential candidate who the former Republican President Rupiah Banda.

Mr. Lungu stressed that following the ruling by the high court which ruled against him, Dr. Mumba should now respect the decision of both the high court and the party and allow the former ruling party carry out the campaigns without further complications.

Mr. Lungu further stated that he will soon write to all provincial committees to inform them that there is only one party candidate and warn all those entertaining Dr. Mumba against going against the party.

Mr. Lungu’s comments comes in the wake of the high court ruling which has ruled against Dr. Mumba which leaves former President Rupiah Banda as the Presidential candidate for the former ruling party.

The former ruling party has been at cross roads with two Presidential candidates campaigning for themselves after the national executive committee of the MMD decided to sponsor Rupiah Banda as it presidential candidate in the forthcoming elections a move rejected by party President Nevers Mumba.

  1. Iwe Ka Muhabi Lungu, you have made the old man lose his benefits and now will lose the elections-Double tragedy.
Ikamunyokola njala mambamala RB and you will not be there to provide for him and his cancer patient.

    • Dr Mumba should just be patient and like a true christian that he is,let him obey both the court and NIEC suspension. He should submit himself to any disciplinary hearing NEC might call.Come 2016,there will be no bottleneck standing in his way in his pursuit to be MMD Presidential candidate.

    • Rupiah and Muhabi are the most useless evil politicians. They have weakened our democracy forever. All because of greed, stupidity and selfishness. One day the Lord will judge them harshly.

    • MMD NEC members are simply after RB’s money, the stolen cash that he grabbed before loosing in 2011. They know very well that he(RB) will loose again, but they will have eaten his money. They have ditched the pastor as he is broke and is solely dependent on the party for survival.

    • It’s a shame ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls that our country has become a laughingstock of the world. This is all due to lack of proper interpretation of our own parties constitutions and the brawling taking place in the ruling party and that of it’s predecessor (MMD) has caught the eyes of foreign media. Just when you thought there was calm, now we have a storm in a teacup taking between RB and Mumba! The two guys have really hacked each other badly with RB overpowering poor Mumba and pinning him down on the floor. How did this happen? RB really wants to rule only for 16 months? Why does he feel so compelled to do this and what makes him feel he has the backing of the people to emerge victorious? These are just a few of the many questions that come to mind. Mumba – gongard!!

    • We are celebrating the division of some of the kumawa (wako ni wako) vote between Edgar Lungu and RB. Otherwise most of this vote would have gone to Edgar Lungu.

  2. Sure let him pack and please tell him that he will never be in state House and later on his wife as the First Lady. Former man of god go back to church and never fall for Devil and decide to come back to politics. One thing for sure Nervers Mumba you are strange animal to politics no wonder no one loves you

    • @dead, interesting! God with a small ‘g’ and devil with a capital ‘D’. Anyway, I assume you know better whom you are with right now and exalting, after all you are dead aren’t you…!

    • Its not true to say that no one loves Nevers Mumba. There are some people out there who love the man. As for you bwana Mumba you were given a chance to be the Vice President and you tasted power and that should be enough. Count yourself lucky that mwanawasa gave u that chance. It will be very delusional for you to think that you will be president. Just leave politics.

  3. Doc Mumba keep playing your game. Let Rupiah loose the election and all the respect he was enjoying. Rupiah will dump the MMD and they will be fatherless again.

  4. Muhabi, what covenant have you made with Rupiah for you be supporting him in the manner you are doing whereby you even dislodge the rightly elected MMD president from his position? How do you bring back a person who rejected by Zambians to stand as president. I had respect for you but now I am beginning to doubt integrity, let alone your state of mind. If Mumba violated some party rule or whatever, you did not need to discipline him by replacing him with Rupiah, or indeed any other person. I now believe what people say about you that you are a snake. By the way I am no supporter of either Rupiah or Nevers. Just pissed off by your behaviour.

    • me too..am very disappointed with Muhabi. He looked genuine to take over nevers when the right time comes, now its clear, he can never be trusted. Mumba was duly elected upto 2016..nomba, ba bwelela kuma lushi….akabwelelo kalalya

    • Totally agree with you!
Has Muhabi ever made a decison that was ever successful?
Mark my words, this is the beginning of his end coz no one will ever trust him.

  5. My Prayer to God: Dear Lord, as we vote on 20-1-15, may u give us wisdom to vote against the spirit of poverty, the spirit of lawlessness, the spirit of mediocrity in our country. May u give us wisdom to vote for someone who ‘ll reduce poverty, create jobs, create good environment for marketeers, someone who will help our economy grow so that our currency stabilizes, someone capable of turning around the declining and deteriorating economic fortunes of this country. Lord the majority of our voters vote with their hands and not with their brains as they were denied chances of going to Sch. On that day, may u vote for them as only you alone knows the candidate who means well for this great country. Do not give us a candidate chosen by Satan but give us one chosen by u. Say Amen with me.

  6. I’m so sad about what is happening in MMD ! I mean there is no way the big man can win an election and for sure MMD is heading for extinction like UNIP !

    • Let them self destruct. I’ve been on the ground since campaigns were launched and the buzz on the street is just about HH and Lungu. This ‘Ala B’ is just there to make up numbers.

  7. Mr Muhabi what big thing has mr Mumba done to u such that u can call him frm where he was and then fight to destroy his programs like this u’re an evil person honestly mr Mumba had no intentions u jst called him becoz mr Banda had abandoned the party iam very surprised about the court ruling very corrupt.

  8. Mumba auctioned MMD to UPND. We want the President for all Zambians. Mumba can never win any election not even as a ward chancellor in Chinsali

  9. I feel so sorry for you RB! No wonder even your first chanced stint as republican president was short lived. This back door second coming of yours just spilled the undeserved respect you were enjoying not just at home but the world over. And Muhabi sure! How could you sink so low? Until your involvement in this grossly unfair, self defeating and suicidal move, I was convinced you were among the few trustworthy people Zambia needed in politics. I was so deceived I could have voted for you as republican president!!!

  10. It’s a non-starter for Nevers Mumba. Yes, let him just pack and move on. We have been telling him the same for a long time now.

  11. This Lungu Chap thinks he’ll make information minister. In the RB goverment.Insala ibi.Shikulu RB is hoping for government funds to be paying for his cancer patient wife so that farm earnings can be shared with his new ‘catch’.Wake imwe ma opportunists. How do you expect to be in the lead when you forced your way through the back door…..bending the rules to suit your aspirations.I wonder how your own homes are run…late alone this nation.Never MMD again.

When your party was crumbling following your exit you retired. Now that Man of God has put it back together you are back. There is no better way to describe you than Leaches

    • Mulekeni RB azalila nafuti nafuti. Except he will not be crying from State House this time around and he will be made to think more about Thandiwe Banda he has neglected in a South African hospital battling cancer after losing both breasts to the disease.

  12. Nevers mumba politics has jus denied u,dont force urself on it,dat will amount to rape now, even wen it seemed u were finally on track look wat has hapend nw,rb frm nowhere cmz and does a coup on u

  13. Mwebantu dont waste time on muhabi, ba mudala bene ichipuba bakalila fikakama, muhabi palya apelele asungwafye nabafyashi taishiba nomutengo wabunga, the boy is just too evil

  14. Like UNIP where Muhabi came from MMD will be dead come 20th January 2015. Because of a greedy old man who thinks he is a best candidate supported by fellow old characters like Kaingu. This is the computer age not telegram and fax machines.

  15. But Muhabi has embarrassed Nevers. Its very painful. THOUGH I HAD NEVER SUPPORTED MMD but I am NOT HAPPY WITH TREATMENT and WHERE IS Peter Machungwa who was ALWAYS FOLLOWING MUMBA. Its bad for Nevers he will b crying the whole night.

  16. Dr. Mumba,
Your life has shown how tenacity is a powerful virtue. Be strong and very courageous to lead these people (Joshua 1). You have done so many wonderful things in the nation of Zambia that others have just dreamt of. You know the fight you are fighting is not against flesh and blood but principalities, authorities, rules and powers in the heavenly places. When the righteous rule, the city rejoices but when the wicked perish there are shouts of joy.

There is a disconnect among those who confess to know God in Zambia. They vote for those who do not know the Lord as savior and then they begin to pray for God to save them, when they’re in office. Double work! And it is folly.

I’m praying for you pastor, that the Lord who called you by His grace may redeem you.

  17. I have respect for our Courts. ZIALE cooked lawyers biggy! Ni Zeeeeeeeeee! My mind is still fresh on how you Nevers Mumba instructed unruly imimbulu to drag Kachingwe in the mad like a mad small boy. Utter embarrassment; I knew days would catch up with you. But as a Christian you purport to be, pray for forgiveness and move on! Aya ema politics walelilila! Are you gonna be like Sampa a kid in politics? If yes, please appeal. If no humble yourself or go back to your own part you failed to run otherwise swallow your pride and support RB; you are being cooked politically so kwashala prison naka mental torture akanono because we have to remove bu Civilian then you will be ripe for red brick, Nasosa Napwisha.

  18. Proverbs 6:12-15 ESV

“A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing.”

MMD chapwa Finnish! Kuya bebele! Your party has done the most cruel and unchristian act. You have misstreated an innocent person and forgotten that the lord says.
    MMD IS NOW COMPLETELY FINISHED.

  19. Whoever said life is fair has no bollocks and hence no vision like someone who is failing to speak in church. Life is about the hard knocks and if you don’t know that you ain’t going to make a dime! Pastor Mumba must pick himself up, dust himself up, and start all over again. That is the only thing left when life deals you a bummer.

  20. Mr ML, you have let yourself so badly. You expressed yourself so eloquently each time i watched you on several tv forums but this deed is utterly evil Mr Lungu.

  21. The discord you sow today will be your eternal down fall. I am not a supporter of Mumba but where witnesse a miscarriage of justice we all have a duty to speak up.

  22. Mugabe Lungu should not be trusted. It is a pity Pastor Mumba was playing in the snakes shadow (Muhabi Lungu). This guy even at campus was a sale out. He used to be OP preying on innocent students.

  23. Muhabi Lungu, when you remained in UNIP, I thought you were providing some checks and balances in the political dispensation. You left Kaunda – rushed to RB. Lost elections. When RB ran away you remained in the party and look for someone to hang around. Nevers was the obvious. You sold him so well and you made us believe he was great. Now you brought RB in the night. You are yet to sale RB in the party and country wide. Time is running out and a fossil cannot be easily. Look at how you worked so hard to frustrate long term MMD members – Kachingwe, Namugala, Dora, Chituwo. You seem to lack serious logical thinking. If Mumba was a problem, was the problem to bring some fossil to stand on the MMD ticket? Why did you open the race to others?

  24. Dear Muhabi, I have always thought you to be an intelligent young man. You speak well and you have deep convictions. I know too you are not a sellout because if you were you would already by now have jumped ship like the likes of Mutati to start campaigning for HH. You will be rewarded one day. Now go flat out and explain to the people how the MMD constitution works because alot of people who dont understand the MMD constitution think you have dribbled Nevers when this is not the case. People need to know that being MMD president is not guarantee that one can also be the presidential candidate. The two positions are separate. Mwanawasa and Chiluba is the case in point. Please go flat out now and sell RB and if possible bring Nevers to your side. There’s a chance he will see the light.

  25. God bless Zambia. The Zambia we want in the next ten years depends on how we vote NOW.For peace, respect for each other, development, ridding ourselves of thuggery, crookedness, theft, rigging of elections, lack of respect for the constitution, i confidently say HH is the best. I urge you fellow Zambians from all the corners of Zambia, lets vote for HH on January 20th, 2015. We have a blessed country, but we deserve much more in terms accelerated development and respect for one another. My brothers and sisters, what Zambia do you dream of for your children and my children. Where there is no vision, the people perish. Remember some candidate said he has no vision. What do you think fellow Zambians. If you have no vision, then why stand for the elections? He wants the Zambian people to…

  26. What has happened in MMD should not be entertained by any normal youth you can not be allowing pensioners to be coming back like this, let us all young people stand up to RB and show him were he belongs this is total rubbish.

  27. The problem with. Zambian is poor memory. Remember he him self never said for me to aspire for political office it will mean demotion from God. He is reaping what he sow. ubukopo ama Zambian

  28. Zambia should reject this old man and teach him a lesson. We dont want another state presidential funeral. Whoever should be our president should be fit and below 65 years by age. We want an Obama of our own 53 and a Cameron of our own around 49.

  29. Meanwhile time is ticking, the nomination is next week……and Pastor president Nevers Mumba thinks that the courts will wait on him. No Pastor, you are wasting your time and money in kegal fees. In the absence of time the courts will just rule in favour of RB. It’s nothing to do with whether they support RB or Nevers or whoever. No, no, no, it’s just a default judgment so as not to disadvantage the party, whether it be PF or MMD. This is the same reasoning that applies to Sampa, the PF cowboy. The courts will simply look at who seems to be the majority leader in PF and in MMD, there is no time to explore the legal merits or demerits. The principle is that the majority cannot be subservient to an individual’s ambition, now disguised as “vision”.
