UPND Vice-President Richard Kapita has refuted claims by PF MP Freedom Sikazwe that UPND is sending false information to media houses about the success of their rallies in Northern Province.Mr. Sikazwe who is also Northern province Minister said the Mpulungu rally was only attended by children.UPND Vice President however pointed to the Mpulungu rally pictures and asked readers to judge for themselves who was lying.Mr.Kapita also stressed that since last week the UPND were now releasing the rally schedule to media houses 2 to 3 days in advance.He said everyone is welcome to the rallies, and UPND are always pleased to have media representatives attend to report both on the crowds and the addresses.

An article published today on the Lusaka Times website claiming that the UPND is sending false reports of their rallies to the media is incorrect. We are sharing here some pictures from our Mpulungu rally in Northern Province where PF MP Freedom Sikazwe is reported as having stated that the crowd was limited to a few children. I will leave readers to judge for themselves based on these pictures.
If Mr Sikazwe has further concerns regarding the size of UPND rally crowds I suggest he visits our campaign website (www.hh-zambia.com) or Facebook page (www.facebook.com/hakainde.hichilema) where we share photos of our rallies on a daily basis.

But equally, it won’t be easy for them because they have done nothing to extend the influence and appeal of their political party beyond the borders of their Bantustan. Instead of addressing the challenges of their regional character, they became defensive. I support Barrick for this business decision. After all there is nothing the Northwestern province is benefiting from taxes from the mines there. It is all going to other provinces who contribute little or nothing to treasury.
