Transport, Telecommunications, Works and Supply Minister Yamfwa Mukanga has urged the UPND leadership to force its leader Hakainde Hichilema into retirement if he loses this month’s presidential election.
Mr Mukanga observed that it would be undemocratic for the UPND to keep Mr Hichilema at the helm of the party if he continues losing presidential election.
He said leadership is all about inspiring followers but argued that Mr Hichilema leadership qualities leave much to be desired.
‘If UPND was democratic, they would ensure that after losing the 2015 election, Hakainde should go back to the farms and stay because he cannot continue to be losing and the party continues to float him and they are not serious,’ Mr Mukanga said.
The Kantanshi PF MP also attacked Mr Hichilema for his involvement in the privatisation programmes for Luanshya mine.
Mr Mukanga said Mr Hichilema owes the people of Luanshya an apology for allegedly causing post privation misery.
‘Hakainde was in the fore front selling RAMCOZ and am sure of the miners died without getting their benefits whilst them who were selling got their money. They should go and apologise to the people of Luanshya for the misery they caused,’ he said.
That’s part of democracy. Young blood will have to lead our party, for now HH can give it a shot.

If it is true that Lungu is using RB money and not Nsanda that is good news. RB wants to punish the bemba people for the pain he has gone through the last 3 years. The PF has cancelled another rally due to poor attendance in Isoka.
PF candidate Edgar Lungu was scheduled to address a rally in Isoka after getting endorsement and Boko Haram money from Rupiah Banda in Chipata.
The PF heavily advertised the rally but pulled down the stage after realising that only children turned up to listen to music
‘Lungu came as near as Chief Watwika in Nakonde hoping people wull gather in numbers. .. but only children were there even upto 14pm …I was at Zwangendaba Lodge where the Leadership was communicating to the Presidential team that was said to be at Chief Waitwika in Nakonde. ..where it was resolved that the rally be cancelled it was going to embarrasse the ruling Party’ said a contact.
