Dustin Whitehead dominates Zambia Moto cross rally.

United Kingdom based rider Dustin Whitehead has maintained his dominance in the Zambia Moto cross competition that went in to the third round, yesterday (Sunday)

Whitehead led the open class MX (450cc) category by scoring 60 points on his usual
Honda bike and was closely followed by Lusaka’s Micheal Hacking who had 51 points.
Dale Holliday, of Kitwe was third with 45 points.

This is the third straight win for Whitehead since the opening of the Zambia 2007
Moto cross championship which opened mid last month at Sekelela Moto Cross track in
Lusaka West and repeated the same fit i Ndola early this month.

The Uinted Kingdom based rider is in the country under the sponsorship of mainly
Toyota Zambia to hold a series of clinics to develop the sport in Zambia.

According to Zambia’s Motorsports Association ( ZMSA) results released to ZANIS,
Francesco Sciarrino who was riding a Kawasaki scored 60 points in the MX2 ( 250cc)
category while Paul Ferriman who was on a Honda was second with  51points. Craig
Eastcroft was third on a honda with 43 points.

In the Veterans category, Toni Sciarrino won the race with 60 points on a Kawasaki,
and was closely followed by Alan Ellis on a Honda who had 51points while Nick
Frangeskides riding a Honda had 43 points.

In the Senior Quads class,  Imran Adam won with 60 points on a Yamaha and was
seconded by Lauret van Breda who scored 47 points on a Honda while  Farook Ticklay
was third with 39 points on a Yamaha.

The ladies Quads category,  Jay Wadey of Lusaka led by 60 and was followed by  Lisa
Shone also of lusaka with  51 points.

The Quads – Novice section was won by  Tim McVey who scored  60

points on a suzuki. Jonathan Whittehone was second with 17 points.

The Novice section was won by Richard Franklin with 60 points, with Ryan Ellis
coming second with 47 points on a Honda while Pieter Verster was third on a Yamaha
scoring 38 points.

In the Junior 85cc category, Lusaka’s Domenico Sciarrino won the race on a KTM bike
with 57 points, seconded by Yazdaan Ticklay on a Honda with 47 points. Shanelle
Greatorex was third on a Honda with  43 points.

Phillip Chalcroft who was on a KTM scooped the Junior 65ccrace with 57 points, with
Dylan McCann and Billy Dean coming second and third with 47 and 44 points
respectively.

The Mini cross (50cc) race was won by  Julian Dias who scored  60 points on a KTM
and was closely followed  Declan Riddle with 51

points while third was Brooklyn Bousfeild with 43 points.

The fourth round event will be held on April 1, at Kitwe’s Mondolo Motopark
track.The 2007 motocross season has nine rounds.
