The Zambia Tennis Association (ZTA) has selected a team of four tennis players to represent Zambia at the forthcoming All Africa Games in Algeria.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS sports, ZTA Secretary General Oliver Mulenga
said kingpin tennis player Edgar Kazembe and upcoming Miriam Zulu are among the
players selected.

Others are ZTA President Thembani Mbazimathe and Gift Haangwengwe.

The Association Secretary General said arrangements have been made for the Zambian
team to travel to Malawi and Zimbabwe for preparatory games.

Mulenga said the association president Mbazima spearheaded the tournaments in the
two neighbouring countries in mid June.

He urged tennis fans to rally behind ZTA and support its efforts to develop the
sport in the country.

He paid tribute to the main sponsors Uniturtle Zambia Limited for constantly supporting his association for the past three years. Others are fine Arts Limited and Giftland Limited for the trophies.

Meanwhile, Kazembe is expected to face stubborn Kombe Mabo in the finals of the 2007
Uniturtle Tennis Championship senior category tomorrow at Barclays Sports complex.

ZTA Junior Course Coordinator Teddy Chambisha told ZANIS sports that Kazembe, who is
also the reigning 2006 ZTA open Tennis Champion, played as seed one beat seed three
Gift Haangwengwe 6-3, 1-6 and 7-5.

Seed four Mabo defeated seed two Henry Banda 6-4 and 7-4 to sail to the finals.

The junior and the senior ladies tournament games was by press time still being played.
