Tough Wazakaza mourned

Share

Government  has mourned the death of Lusaka Province police commanding officer Wasakaza Ng’uni and issued strict instructions to the police command to “leave no stones unturned” in the investigations into the cause of his death in a tragic road accident on Tuesday night in Lusaka.

Speaking to journalists at the late Mr Nguni’s funeral house in Kabulonga’s Twin Palm Road, Vice-President Rupiah Banda said police should thoroughly investigate the accident to find out exactly what led to the death of the popular and tough top cop.

Mr Nguni 57, died around 20:00 hours on Tuesday in Lusaka’s Kabangwe area on the Great North Road when his Toyota Mark II overturned as returned from his farm in Ngwerere where he had gone to collect a cell phone he had earlier forgotten there.

“This is a great loss to the nation and I speak for many Zambians.

It is important to investigate deeper, the cause of the accident in order to establish exactly what happened.

It will be sad for the President to arrive to such devastating news,” Vice-President Banda said.

“We used to sleep peacefully knowing that Mr Nguni was in-charge,” a visibly shaken Vice-President said.

He described the death of Mr Nguni as upsetting, sad and that the nation was faced with an early death of a selfless and gallant police officer.

The late police commander was a dedicated worker and a great role model to the younger and aspiring police officers.

“On behalf of Government we would like to send our condolences to the family and to the (Zambia) Police Service,” he said.

And Inspector General Ephraim Mateyo said although preliminary findings indicated it was a normal accident, the police command did not completely rule out foul play.

Mr Mateyo, who broke down in between his speech when he spoke to journalists at the funeral house, said the death of Mr Nguni had taken him several miles backwards in police operations.

He described the late Mr Nguni as a gallant officer with whom he had made a great team because they shared a common vision.

“Immediately the police high command was informed of the accident, we sent officers from the Scenes of Crime Section to go to the accident scene and right now we are still examining the vehicle.

As at now it’s too early to speculate,”he said before breaking down.

Police would try to ensure that the peace that the nation was enjoying under Mr Ng’uni continued.

Other notables who visited the funeral house were: Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Kalombo Mwansa, deputy minister of Home Affairs, Grace Njapau and permanent secretary Peter Mumba.

Others were permanent secretary in the Ministry of Works and Supply Bizwayo Nkunika and his counterpart from Lusaka Province Susan Sikaneta and the entire police high command.

Meanwhile, former president Kenneth Kaunda who broke down after being informed of Mr Nguni’s death said the passing of the man was a great loss to the family and the entire nation.

“It’s sad… condolences to the family and the police service. It’s a great loss,”Dr Kaunda said amid tears.

  1. The major known causes for a vehicles overturning are 1 Drinking under the influence
    2 Overspeeding
    3 Sleeping while driving

in each case all of them are illegal.

  2. Though Lusaka Province police commanding officer Wasakaza Ng`uni`s death was normal, it is difficult to be accepted by many Zambians. As much as we apprecited his works, others detested them to the degree where they could cause foul play. Let us wait for the investigations to be over in order to deduce the cause of the accident.MHSRIP

  4. #2 In addition to these, some times even driving faulty vehicles, not being in a seat belt are among common causes of accidents.Sometimes people ignore the high way code for such things as speed limit on dusty roads or gravel roads. This is how the late Mapushi died in chibombo, he was overspeeding on gravel road. But we can only get the truth from experts. STATE CAUTIONS CORRESPONDENTS NOT TO WRITE LIES ABOUT ZAMBIA
    By REBECCA CHILESHE
MINISTER of Information and Broadcasting Services, Mike Mulongoti has urged contributors to foreign publications to refrain from writing falsehoods about Zambia just to make money. Mr Mulongoti was reacting to two articles in the Germany media, one by a named Zambian doctor saying operating theatres had leaking roofs and that flies flew around during surgery, and another by a Germany celebrity who alleged that Zambians were so overwhelmed by the AIDS pandemic that people were unable to think about the next day.“It is not right for anyone to print falsehoods about Zambia. They are damaging our reputation all because they want to be given money. Such people are unpatriotic and their behaviour is bad,” he said. Muvi TV managing director Steve Nyirenda made the articles available to the parliamentary committee on information and broadcasting last Friday. Mr Nyirenda told the committee that such negative reports were damaging the country’s bid to attract foreign investors and tourists. The German celebrity said there was “too much HIV/AIDS in Zambia for people to even think about the next day.” Mr Mulongoti, who is also chief government spokesperson, said false reports about any country were unpatriotic and bordered on the morality and integrity of the authors. He said Zambia had achieved a lot in the health sector for anyone to begin making such falsehoods, which were “selfish” and aimed at painting a bad picture of the country. People were free to contribute to foreign publications but that they must ensure they gathered their facts instead of writing damaging reports based on falsehoods. He said there was no country in the world that had been spared by HIV/AIDS but the context in which the Germany report was put was aimed at lowering the integrity of the Zambian people. He said the fact that there were no restrictions as to what foreign correspondents could publish did not mean they should base their reports on falsehoods. He said even if a story were negative it would still be respected if it represented the real picture on the ground.

  9. Kwena ba chileshe #6-8 muli ba welewele. Bushe ngawalanda ati Nguni aliuma ama students pa UNZA abakaele ninshi uli convict. I think eimwe ba kapokola bansala mwebekata noushikwete mulandu. Muletontonkanya pakulanda ifintu.

  10. #s 1,2 both sound like they’re both ex-convicts.Sorry but yo hour will come as well. The late will never cease to be an inspiration in my day to day duties.Rest in peace BOSS.

  11. The majority of UNZA students are finangwa. They give their future to any Chibuku buyer. They are far short of Global intellectual standard going by their impulsive and thoughtless worthless violence. This is why all their pronouncements are empty and immaterial. Remember after Sata pumped them drums of Chibuku last year, they were there prouncing childish Regime change rhetoric. A person that blindly gives in to student and cheap violence from every embicile is worthless. How can Sata brainwash them. Ng’uni was restoric order.

  12. Why is it that when a person dies, everyone seems to talk only of the good side?
Is it because the dead can not defend themselves?
Ng’uni promised the students more punishment next time they demostrated and yet this is a public officer who is supposed to guard and protect every citizen in the country.

  13. Patriot #12. I think tawasambilila. Ausambilila ngataulandile ifi ifyabupuba. You mean all the people who have passed through unza finangwa? Wemunangwa niwe weushapitapo.

  14. Ng’uni was selfless in his serving the country. Those that know a bit of history, he was tough right in Chambeshi. It was not until Nguni left Chambeshi before people could freely steal Cobalt from the mines. I remember him for his bravity when he challeged a gunman at ZNBC in Kitwe. The gunman had taken control of the entrance and when Ng’uni got the news went directly to him and asked him to surrender the gun immediately. When the gunman threatened to shoot, Nguni told him to go ahead as there were more police officers surrounding the place. The gunman ended up dropping the gun.

Such is the officer, the nation has lost… KK knows better.

  15. In time of sorrow ba Kayata, a normal person will think of good that person did whilst alive because we are agrieved and mourning. Sometime I compare you with a stupid king who put two glass of water before his prisoner who was chained, one with poison and told the to him todrink if he firsty. He left this man alone and when he came back found that one glass was empty and started laughing saying now you are going to die how can you drink this Glass of water with poison. The king got the other glass and drunk the water instead he was poisoned and died. People stop laughing at the sick, make funny of the dead because your death might end up very painful as punishment. Its he who gives and takes. RIP

  16. Iwe Monk wewansala niwe pantu nomba wa celebrata ati ifi waipaya ba boss ba Wasakaza wa lalya.Smashing people’s vehicles, blocking great east road & all that riotous conduct, are these not crimes. You should emulate CBU STUDENTS who have never been violent in their demos. That’s why they’re better educated than you vandals.

  17. For all his faults Nguni was indeed a gallant Police Officer(MHSRIP), he probably should have been given the responsibility to wipe out crime in Lusaka and other cities. This is where he would have added real value, rather than chasing after UNZA students (who often have real grievances)… Speaking of UNZA, someone needs to take a bold step and close down these institutions for a total revamp, before allowing any students to attend.

  18. Easy,my friend take it easy.
We are all born to die,but when a person causes pain on other’s life and living, that will be taken into account.
When we only talk of the good side, people who continue to reign wont know that applying punishment on people is wrong and evil, and when they perform evil and wrongful acts on God’s people, then their destination is known, and as the people remaining behind on earth we need to respect one another so that when our turn comes, we are on the right side.
What does the Bible say about the dead?

  19. No one is perfect in this world. However we should emulate Nguni’s courage, loyalty, patriotism and hard work. Iam sure the police force will greatly miss his sercices. Only thugs would celebrate his demise.MHSRIP.

  20. Davey Chileshe, i sympathise with you on your boss’ loss but you strike me as a hypocrite.Just because your boss is dead does not make him a better person. He was human therefore falliable, i will stick to my earlier contribution # 2 on the causes of a car overturning.i will also add KUKU’s contribution # 5.Your boss was in play with one of those factors or all of them. Wake up pipo accidents dont just happen they are caused and dont make him everyones hero coz i dont think he was to UNZA students

  21. And one such thug is that fella MONK.No wonder he doesn’t give it a damn about ever marrying because of his nonsensical brutal nature.Shame!

  22. #6, #8, #11 Davy Chileshe, Mongu,
What is wrong with you? You keep on posting the same message as if you will also not die. It is a known fact that I will die as well as #1 and #2. So let them express their feelings. You are the people who make statistics show fake results. When you want to look at the topic that had the highest entries, you find that the one that comes on the top is the one where one comment was repeatedly sent several times. We have seen your comment and please do not resend but let us concentrate on new things about former Lusaka Province police commanding officer Wasakaza Ng’uni’s cause of death.

  23. #6, #8, #11 Davy Chileshe, Mongu,

  24. Davy #17 how do you praise someone who brutally beat harmless students? Let him go and show his muscle in Dafur or Iraq not on harmless people. If you don’t know UNZA is a watch dog for Zambia and if we have people like you in our society, we will go nowhere. May Nguni’s SRIP.

  25. why are # 23 and #24 having the same message but different names? Is this one person contributing as Two pipo? I wonder how many bloggers do this sort of thing

  26. #26 T boz,
By the time I had entered a submit botton to send the message on #23 I realised that I had not included my name. I pressed escape and later included my name. But to my suprise, both the one which did not carry my name where I had escaped and what had my name came through. Forgive me it was not deliberate.

  27. The Zambia Police service has lost a gallant officer and will remembered for among many things, the Unza student brutalities of 2000.
Iam also compelled to #12 for calling unza students finangwa. Whilst i sympathise with him that he wasn’t selected to either go to cbu or unza, he should be modest in his description of our graduates. Iam rulling out the possibility of his going to cbu becoz no cbu graduate will ever look down upon a fellow grad from unza.
If indeed this guy has a degree, then certainly its one from abroad where a person with 45 points can also get it.
Here in Ireland, i have met a lot of Zambians who could not make it to either unza or cbu but have successfully enrolled for graduate studies.
It is for this logical reasosn that i would strongly advise #12 to take his frustrations elsewhere and leave these graduates to fight and defend what they feel is right for the country.

  28. Nkhataboy27# You that this is not the first time you behaved like this on the blog. On the other posting you were even very abusive. I didnt not comment because maybe someone was using your name. To all who talk bad here please spare the dead according to our believes dead person can bring bad omen until his soul and spirit find place of rest. You desist from talking Mr. Nguni is the first person to wipe UNZA students. I wish the topic to turn around and talk how the police force is organised and performing this is a chance to bring about other issues. In addition there is a keep Zambia clean campaign and this dead person wanted to paint all police station. Who is going to take over from him. Will be ruthless also against student. In those lines the debate becomes live and interesting. Ba Chileshe if you dont have to here contribute even tales that are being told during furenals. I believe in Bemba you have alot and they might be very educative

  29. it sad news that the most hard working are leaving us.however we thank the lord for having gave us one waza,he is irreplaceable.we from unza shall terrebly miss your presence in demos to come.we admired your determination to chase us all day and the rate at which you ordered the firing of irritants at us.most of all we shall remember you for the brutal clobering and pain you inflicted on us.one nguni may your soul rest in peace.

  30. Death is inevitable as some of the bloggers. It is only a matter of time. But, sometimes death is avoidable. Now what is worrying is the foul play they are questioning. Is it something to do with superstition? I dont believe in superstition. That was just an accident. MHSRIP

  31. #30 Easy, There is what we call gigo in computer language. What did you expect me to do after labouring the explanation I gave in #28? If the blog was programmed that one can’t escape then that is not my problem. The problem is with #6, #8, #11 Davy Chileshe, Mongu, who posted one message spread at different moments. What I think and write about, I wouldn’t like to see it appear under Anonymous. That’s why I had to include my name but the technology failed me.

  32. #4 please elaborate, was the officer in question under threat? That statement is open ended and at the same time accusing.

  33. Monk # 14,
No apologies over my UNZA remarks in 12. The majority of UNZA students of the 90s to present are finangwa. Decent and visionary students the country is counting for as future leaders with University level education are those from CBU and the previleged studying in the Diaspora. While you are busy stoning innocent people’s vehicles following nights of Chibuku, decent youths are increasing value to their future. The UNZA of the old days is no long inspirational in todays market because of your thuggery and vandal mentality. Be advised that CBU, other local colleges and the Diaspora Graduates will render your monkish place irrelevant for anything on earth.

  34. Deputy Commissioner of Police,Wazakaza Mutiti Ng’uni was a courageous and hard working officer, loving and caring father.May his soul rest in perfect peace. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Police Service.

  35. I am deeply sadned at the tragic and untimely death of Wazakaza Nguni. He was the epitome of what a policeman should be. His demise comes at a time when sanity was almost being restored to a city like Lusaka.

I remember Wasakaza a long time ago in Kitwe as a nonosense policeman. I come across again many years later in Lusaka around five in the morning when he was doing a roadrun on the road from Lilayi police training college.

Condolences to his family, the police and the many ordinary Zambians whose lives he made a bit safer from criminalty.

I am touched by his death

  36. Do you think we named him BRUTAL WASAKAZA for nothing. The man was a dog willing to bite without questioning reasons for doing it. He was a loyal Dog who was ready to serve the govt of the day even in illegal assignements. Let the truth be told. Nguni was abused by the regime. It is only in LPM govt where he was put under control, but he was still drunk in brutality.
He need to be charged posthomously for not wearing the seat belt, over speeding and possibly drunken driving, or driving unfit vehicle.

  37. #9 FACT.We`re at a time of sorrow paying our last respect to the late Nguni but all you interested in is your cheap propaganda. We defeat the purpose of democracy when we DISLIKE the people with whom we only DISAGREE.Instead of being petty,we need to brain storm on how to reduce these kind of accidents from occuring and maybe even tackle things like life policies.MHSRIP

  38. Some people in this site think unza is the in thing…God bless us for our equipment is outdated!!! My friend has had it rough in Manchester trying to cope with the other masters program students. Though we have some data we need to move on.Books in the library, we cant even say , tell me can one research properly in UNZA library. I remeber certain books had pages cut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UNZA is in a terrible state i would never allow my son study at unza, its delapidated. I wonder i thought Dr Ngandu would try his best. I dont have words for unza i just pity the students of today.

    Wasakaza was rough!!!very rough

  39. Ndife.. The topic here is not Unza okey.It is about Brutal Wasakaza who crossover to the other side. Before everyone here keep singing songs about him. You need to examine his whole police career and some good and some atrocities he committed against humanities. We all know, he was brutal, not only to criminals but to common Zambians who found themsleves in the wrong side to his side. I remember him clearly in the Chiluba days and at Mulungushi Rock of Authority and the third Term.
Only Mateyo IG, found the better use for this Brutal cop, who will only be missed by criminals, and those who depended on him. The VP wiping, Maybe he is a relative and normal.
Wasakaza has passed and his family will miss him,and definitely not I and many other Zambians who do not tolerate Brutality in any form…Nature has a way of correcting itself.

  40. HK ulinkakashi iya kashika amenso,Am mauless, ingawali umwanakashi ingatawaupilwe. You are lucky you are a man.You houmour as a doctor is not some how misplaced, you should have been a soldier or a policeman than being a doctor. On a serious note you need to change your career.I can only liken you to those Doctor Terrorist in the UK.A doctor is under oath to safe guard and uphold a living souls life but you comeout more brutal than Wazakaza, you frontal attacks are more ruthless than an M52 fighter jet

  41. There is nothing special about being a student at UNZA.There is no immunity from the law when you break it. I was a student at UNZA and can attest to the fact that the complexion of the student populace is as varied in character as that found in a nation. There are thieves, prostitutes, religious fanatics,*****s,criminals, fools, ruffians, wise men, good students, law abiding students, lumpens, charlatans, schemers, louts and good citizens. The only common factor is that these are students at UNZA.

When there is a riot it is mostly the scum of the students and brutal element in the forefront. They stone and damage vehicles, propert and lives belonging to ordinary Zambians who totally have nothing to do with their grievances.

The rough treatment Wazakazi once gave them made them think twice before going on rampage on petty Issues.

In any case Wasakaza was protecting the tax payers whose money enables these students be at UNZA.

May his soul rest in peace

  42. Kuku,I dont care what you say, I condemn those doctors who who are terrorists the same way like I codenm Wasakaza who was a semi-terrorist and brutal Cop. They have same thing in common. They have/had no morals to respect other humans dispite the differences. Personally I condemn all criminals on either side. Being a Doctor does not mean am Blind. I will treat a criminal and immediately hand him to the law. I will condemn anybody and criticise accordingly as long as what I say is what it is.
WASAKAZA was a brutal cop… I hope he had enough time to repent, as at now he is facing his creater. You may say a hundred sweet words, but if himself did not account for his life with God, they are worthless… I would rather say, Wasakaza was a loyal Servant of the Police in any form, who abused his power and was always willing to comit brutal acts for his masters and himself.

  43. kuku# this doctor is bitter maybe he is Dr.Chanda in the UK who was recently in court of trying to rape nurses, cleaners. He was brought before the court of law and found guilty on all accounts. The judge was linient on his he went away with a suspended sentence. He now try to study ICT meanwhile the wife is struggling to make ends meet. I think he just harte this world all what he wants his to blood and death. Dr. HK are you a Zambian? I doubt because in our culture no matter how we hurt each other they are two occassion we come together- at death and marriage we even invite enemies. Ba Doc41# what is wrong with you? Cant you find sympathitic words for the family of the diceased. I m amazed.

  44. Citizen, You are right in your anlysis of the Univeristy like any other University in the world. A university is a complete society. However you have shown your lack of respect for the rule of law. For your information, when there is Student demo, the students caught are in most cases innocent ones. What expalanation can you give me for a reason Wasakaza arrested Students who were praying at the Chapel. Mind you your Kafupi named Zambia a christian Nation. This man went into Unza chapel, nabbed SU members, most of them female and Brutalised them locked them in filthy cells. The criminals who were throwing stones escaped as usual. Is that what you praise as Justice and civilised policing…In Developed countries such cops are removed from the frontline..I am interested on the investigation. If B-WN was murderd, I will condem the murders too witout rsevtns. But for now, I think he was just drunk, did not wear seat belt and overspeeding in unroadworthy motorvehicle, which is a chargeable.

  45. HK is an immediate danger against self. There are overwhelming reasons to keep him in unblinking watch or dump him for life at Camp-X without provision for any form of a harbus-corpus. Society must forward such characters’ names for intensive screening.

  46. Kuku Mudaala ask this doctor if he was at one time manhandled by Mr, Nguni. He seems to harte the man even though he can pick a finger against him.

  47. Veteran,.. I am sick of Zambians who think, they will do wrong things and then expect people to feel sorry for them without even apologising. Look here, We are still chasing Naziz and locking them up wherever we find them. Some of them in old age.. I dont care as long as they pay for their SINS or confess and seek forgiviness. One thing I will never do is sing a praise song where it is not due
I have never paid respect to people I never respected when they lived this world..And I am not going to start now..
Pervets like our Zedian Doctor in UK should have been locked up or deported to Zambia. I know that Character from School days, and the bugger could not manage to propose girls..
Veteran, Feel free to do what you can do on this HK ok.. This HK will land his Jibes on any criminal..Dead or alive..

  48. #46 Dr. HK you are a sadist. How many times we your good friends you try to remind you to keep quite and adhere to rules of the occassion which mourning. I wonder how old are you. Why cant you listen everyone is trying his best to advise you but imwe the message will enter from the left ear and come out through the right one. HK what kind of a beast has possessed you. This never just came to UNZA to mishandle students but there was also a cause. A coin ba Doc has two side try to see the tail as well not only the head because only we shall start doubting your qaulification. In UK its after 15 Hrs imwe namukomboka kale huuu. Doc dont make us suspious, you should be in the wards helping those sick old madaalas and grands. Go and done your work before we revoke your liecence. Namukwata Ingulu?

  49. Dr HK freedom any any right ceases to be so one it begins to infringe on other peoples rights.

You are complaining about Innocent students who were picked up in the chapel…..What about the Innocent citizens who are stoned, their property damaged, they are traumatised and terrorised just to drive in great east road by passing UNZA.

UNZA does not enjoy diplomatic immunity, and as such any brutal acts by students on innocent citizens must be met with equal force by law enforcement agencies. Afterall that seem to be the only language which the UNZA students understand.

  50. I C our Dr.HK is a Jewish and he goes by tit for tat I told he has already book a flight to Lusaka before Ngunis body could be put to rest, he wants to molest it. Cut it and drink the blood for deliverance. Its go that you know yours and you are no different from Dr.Chanda. You also deserve to be deport for the atrocities against humanity. You have been helping to murder innocent children by arbtion, Maybe you also insane to do death aid / Abettment. Iam afriad I would want to live next to you. You too much crinimal energy doc.

  51. Easy #50. Why do you want me to keep quite. Is it because I am reminding you of your bad ways and afriad I will bash you when you demise without reservation. Some Zambians brutalist. Easy,I can only talk about B-WN based on facts. Unlike you, I am not gonna, say what is not factual. I dont know WASA personally like the VP or the IG, therefore if he was a lovely father, grandfather or uncle…I dont know!!!!.. I know the man from his Brutal records, which some of you want to sholve into my ass and then I accept and walk defeated…Not this HK. The same way, I do not pity Chiluba..At least for WASA he changed in LPM’s govt and centered his energy of Criminals..But I would be carefull before I applaud his record as the man had no Morals..What would not stop him from planting guns on Victims of Police Brutality.

  52. Dr.Doc please read my comments I have not praised WN but I have shown sympathy to his family this normal way of reacting during time of sorrow. You dont see that all you want is his head. Dont worry it will be given to you.

  53. Dr.Doc please read my comments I have not praised WN but I have shown sympathy to his family this normal way of reacting during time of sorrow. You dont see that all you want is his head. Dont worry it will be given to you.

  54. #2 good points. MHSRIP, Nguni was a tough cop, we all agree on that. But Cops have a tendancy to think they are the law as a result they drink and drive, they dont wear sit belts and probably he was drunk. Another thing he was driving a mark II. That car is proberbly 15 years old. If he was commanding officer why wasnt he driving an official police car? And guys the car overtuned that means he was going at more than the speed limit. There is no way a car will over turn if you are going at 80KM/H. In as much as we simpathise with the family some of these deaths are very much avoidable.

  55. There you go again Veteran you seem to lack principles and a flip flop depending on what serves you best. I condemend the UNZA criminals who go beyond the normal Student rights to demostrate to air their views in a democratic country like ours. These criminals Students you are talking about need to be arrested and chargead according. Arresting innocent Students in the ‘CHAPEL’ and Brutalising them, does not justify Nguni’s righteousness because the criminal ones escaped… Agood soldier or ploiceman, does not need to be a brutalist… A good Docter does not need to be a Christian, Moslem , White or Black.. It is the morality and professionalism of doing the JOB..Okey..Nguni used a heavy hand to deal with issues, and thus he was not suitable for frontline duties. If you live in USA, Canada, or UK you know what am talking about..WASA needed professional Help and our state failed to reform him till IG Mateyo indefied his thirst for Blood and exploited it.

  56. Simple Advise to Easy and Veteran.
You can never fool the people.
Dont let people cheat on your Bibiliography to make you look good.
Whatever you do, Time for Judgement will come, either worldly Judgement ot Heaven Judgement.
Leave a good legacy for your children, dont leave them a curse and stolen pproperty or inhuman barbaric Brutalism attached to their Last Name. I am sure you do not want your children to Change names from VETERAN surname…

  57. Iwe Easy, limbi HK ni ndoshi elo mwana wa ndoshi. Pantu
talemoneka nokumfwika kwati is a person who forgives and forgets. Iwe Dr. HK uli ndoshi yakwa mununga?I think ewaleposa amabwe ilyo ali pa University of Mposa mabwe in Zambia. Kabili HK uletasha elo uli mwana wa ndoshi pantu umwana wa ndoshi tatasha. HK, justify the stoning of innocent citizens on roads, then I will understand your hatred for the late Wazakaza.

  58. I remember him vividly when I was growing up as a small boy in Kitwe. He was a dedicated and vicious policeman with precise military vigilance.

He was able to quel any riot.

Then I grow up went to UNZA and was elected to UNZASU executive committee and I had a vicious encounter with him during one of the VIVAs that happened.

The only thing that came out was that he was so dedicated to his duty that he was able to break the law with impute.

May his soul rest in peace.

  59. I support HK #57 ‘s views,
But HK is forgetting that UK,USA or Canada have respect and regard for human life.
HK i agree with you, but African’s have no regard for mankind but pretend when a person who maybe was a mass-torturer/murderer dies, and what to shower all the praises, hence we can not compare africa to those countries, you should actually compare to China and North Korea.
African’s believe that been tough is to instil discipline, which is basically and morally wrong.
When are we going to wake up and realise that a police officer is there to protect and safeguard a citizen of a country?
This officer was a torturer and abused his authority.

  60. Kalembe# This HK is above, your theft promoting thieves and witches you find in that area called Mununga.. You are blind and cant see beyond your lips. I did not stop you from praising anybody incldin WN, But i wont stand by and keep quite when you are trying to feed us with nobility lies.
I never justified the Unza stone throwers(read my comments) neither did abhor WASA but abashed his police records of brutalitities. To me they are one and the same which need to be condemned, now, tomorrow and in future. I would never advise the young cops and my son or daughetr to emulate WASA brutality. Our VP is well known to speak before he engage his mouth. We are talking about our Nation policing here and demise of one cop who was of Gustepo behaviour here not traditional Nyaus and totems.I told you Mateyo is a good Cop who has brought profesnalsm in the police, and gave sanity to WASA by delpoying him in a crimanal shotng prgm unit because of the insatiable apetite 4 brutalty by decop

  61. I have nothing further to say about
May his sould rest in Peace. In next life come back as a law abiding Cop.
Doctor HK( Pathology and Forensic Autopsy)

  62. Here goes again Kayata#61 the blind man. Kuku we need to shout by USING CAPITAL LETTERS that is Kayaman will understand. Its a big problem when someone is blind but we have people who performanced well like that minister Laraous in KK regime. I remember that other old man from Eastern province who could play good music. Now here is disable stable blind man who cannot listen to his soul. Sure is it difficult to write to lines to grivalences to the Nguni family no matter how you harted him. Its good Dr. HK has surrended and signed as Pathology and Forensic Autopsy. This clear if a person has to do with emotion thing he loses feelings. Our Doc not feelings and I just hope veteran you dont land on his table he make sure he finishes. Fighting someone day what kind of behave is this from the a doctor.

  63. Whenever a public officer like Nguni dies, just remember that with him goes all that knowledge and experience that is not obtainable overnight. He might have annoyed the students but his responsibility was to all the residents of lusaka, not just those few at GE Rd, whom he served well I passed through UNZA and served in UNZASU and during my tenure, there was no riot at UNZA. I do not believe that having genuine grievances gives students the right to destroy innocent peoples property; the very people whose taxes keep UNZA running. There are today senoir senior policemen who have passed through UNZA. Virtually every provincial police chief is a graduate. I bet you that if they are given responsibility to quell a student riot that overuns GE road, they will have only the lives and property of innocent motorists to think about.

People lest we forget, in our part of the world, a university education is not a right, but a privilage.

  64. HK mwaice wandi tushako inga na ‘thesis’ iyi ya propound inganinkupela A+.Iam sure even where you are going to place your head, pictures of Wazakaza will be flying over your 512mb memory in your head.Have a pleasant nite, we shall continue when further details of the cause are released since it appears to be an interesting case to the upamwamba.
One good thing about you you stick to your guts but nomba HK why was your friend refusing to certify those bandits killed by Flying squad?Where were you?

  65. Dr. Hk, Waza was within the law to protect the majority innocent citizens who were being stoned by those thugs at UNZA. History has it worldwide that the only way to educate and instil discipline a university student who throws stones at innocent citizens is to apply brutality on him/her. If Waza did not use that force, do you think those UNZA thugs would have understood to dialogue with Waza? Hell, NO! Give me reasons why those thugs resort to stone throwing because you were once part of them. Why did you, HK, pick a stone and threw it at innocent citizens. Tell me then, I will understand. And what did you expect from Waza you were throwing stones at? I commend this gallant Police Officer, and May His soul Rest In Peace. Throwing stones at innocent citizens and smashing their cars is as good as stealing their property.

  66. HK is no doctor. He is a motuary attendant. Why do zeds beleive everything you read. You dont even know him!Why does he have to tell us about his qualifications. Is it because he believes that he is GOD?Have a life!

  67. #68 which mortuary attendant can write such english? even you thula you can tell us about your qualifications, you are very free to do so.If mortuary attendants have acquired such skills then that capacity building aid of $30m Magande got is working wonders.

  68. Kalembe, As KUKU said, Let us wait for his burial and police investigation as demanded by Lupiya Banda.

Kalembe, I have no more further reason to give you on my position on WAZA. Whatever you say won’t ruboff or wash away his atrocities and brutality to humanity. you can only justify these vices or make excuses for them which you are doing poorly.
Meanwhile, What is the Burial Programme.Obviouslty Bakapokola Naba Kulwa ba NSAKA by this time..Kwalafwa Umuntu..Isambo lyanfwa Mailo.

  69. The University of Zambia, Great East Road Campus, is my almar mater and I am not ashamed. But I abhor students’ ritous behaviour. Whenever there is a students’ “viva”, usually instigated by a few “lumpens” and “monks”, the Police in most cases use the riot Act to disperse the unruly students. The Act is read to them to disperse, failing which Police Officers are ordered to charge. The students in most cases refuse to disperse on the erroneous belief that that is the only way the authorities would listen to them. When the officers charged students run back to the Hostels where innocent students remain. Of course the tear gas is indiscriminate, as it also affects innocent students. We had Lusaka Commanding Officers such as Rice Kumanda and later Barthromew Jere. These Commanding officers, just like Wazakaza acted within the law by ordering their officers to charge if the Riot Act is not heeded and thus protecting properties and lives. Waza was an active and disciplined Cop.

  70. Unza will stand despite the dilapidation levels. By the year 2000, it had good computer fascilites and internet was free to all university students. Monks used to drink chibuku because it was affordable to buy, but when they got paid they all drunk catsle and mosi and really dressed well that all kabulonga girls used to go down. Monks used to go with notes to read while drinking and they talked about issues of national development. It was during such moments that plans to attack societyby infuriating it using STONE AGE tactics were deploid. The monks went from RUINS to NEW RES to involve the inactive week soldiers so that they could become affected. Or affect them so that they could get involved. Warning shots were given to Prof. Chanda the then vice chancellor, and then all UNZA BLUES were ordered to become impotent lest they risked to face student engulfment. And then they closed the unza gate and VIVA continued against police pending on the otherside of great east road. MHSRIP

  71. #39 HK, #42 HK, #45 HK, #47 HK, #50 HK, #54 HK, #58 HK, #59 HK, #63 HK, #64 HK, #71 HK,

HK, I am really impressed with the way you have come out in the open and expressed your feelings other than going to gnash teeth under the blanket as most of the people do. Your arguments are typical traits of intelligence. Your personal intelligence, traditionally speaking, is contained in your intellect. In other words, how you understand, evaluate or respond to external stimuli, regardless as to whether it is an emotional problem or anticipation of an opponent’s next move on the blog. You have exhibited intelligence of high caliber through the collective ability to act or react in a continually changing environment on the blog. Keep it up. Not these others who are just pretending. We know them. They are the first ones to denounce the late in silence while they are in their blankets. MHSRIP

  72. His death has left a big gap, and whoever has anything say why didn’t they say before he died .Let us say the truth and the truth will set us free. We will miss his services and may his soul rest in peace but for those who ejoy when one dies they should not forget their time is coming. Let us make peace with everyone before we die and let us forgive each other.

lastly be a man enough to approach every person when u are not happy with anything.

  73. Wasakaza is known for being bruital what is SATA known of ????remeber the time he was Kafupis patrol boy and the Chawama incident, i remeber the thugs at kulima tower!!!!Our champion for the third term, now changed to one for constitution…..

The only sad thing is that sometimes death comes to us in a sad way. i dont know whether it was a penalty for wasakaza, for innocent guys he bruitalised by his hushness !!! it is said that when an evil person dies people celebrate.

For the Police sorry for the death of Wasakaza, but please do practice what you learn. Be professional and please dont shoot innocent people, i remeber you did that alot last year.

  74. PERSONAL MSG FOR Shapi & SAGE,

-Mateyo said he was saddened that some people were celebrating the death of Ng’uni. “I have received reports that that certain criminals upon hearing the death news started to celebrate,

-I am heart broken; the police service is not dissolved. It’s intact, It’s God’s wish that Ng’uni is gone, but we will carry on from where he left and much more.” Mateyo reiterated that there was no room for criminals in the country.

-”Meanwhile Vice-President Rupiah Banda said Ng’uni was a great police officer and was dedicated to the leadership and served people without discrimination.

    – And Banda commended Zambians for mourning each other.”We Zambians are a truly great nation. Of course in any country, you have people who are confused and celebrate death of a person,” Vice-President Banda said.
