A 65 year old man in Sinazongwe has defiled his two year old baby.
Maamba Police confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Sinazongwe today and said the
alleged defiler has since been arrested and would be committed to Choma police to
appear before the court once investigations are concluded.
The police said they were not sure of what caused the 65 year old man to allegedly
have sex with his two year old baby.
A check at Maamba Hospital by ZANIS revealed that the baby was admitted to the
hospital for observation for two days.
Doctor Kabongo Mulumba who attended to the girl confirmed that there was forced
penetration on the surface of the baby’s private part.
Dr Mulumba said he had signed the report that would be taken to Maamba police for
further scrutiny of the matter.
Defilement and rape cases were on the increase in Sinazongwe district in March with
a man in Senior Chief Mweemba raping his 13 year old daughter.

NORTH Western Rail chairperson Enoch Kavindele last Friday said the Chingola–Solwezi-Lumwana rail project is becoming a reality with the arrival into the country of tubular modules to be used in constructing the line.
Briefing journalists on progress of the rail project at his office, Kavindele said South African-based project consultants, Kwezi V3, delivered the tubular modules for construction of the initial 100 metres of the rail track in Chingola.
Kwezi V3 Engineers and DB International of Germany would undertake the consultancy for the rail project.
“We are ready to start. The North West rail (NWR) project has made further strides in becoming a reality with the arrival in Chingola of tubular modules of construction of the first 100 metres to be used as demonstration unit for the foundation stone to be laid by President Levy Mwanawasa after the Environmental Impact Assessment is approved,†Kavindele said.
