The Zambian Embassy in Ethiopia has urged the Under 23 Zambia National Football Team to remain focused and win the game against Ivory Cost.
The Deputy Head of the Zambian Mission in Ethiopia Patrick Ngoma said the Under 23
Zambia National Team should ensure that they beat Ivory Coast in their Olympic
qualifier in the West African country.
This is contained in a statement released to ZANIS sports by the Zambian Embassy in
Ethiopia signed by Secretary for Press Dorcas Chileshe.
The junior Chipolopolo boys, who have left the country for Ivory Coast, are
expecting an out right win over the young Ivorians in Abidjan on Sunday , November
18, 2007.
Ngoma, who is also minister counsellor at the Zambian Embassy, was speaking last
night when he met the team when it made a stop-over at Bole International Airport in
Addis Ababa enroute to Ivory Coast.
Ngoma said Zambians living in Ethiopia were happy with the current team’s
performance and were confident that it would bring victory and glory to Zambia on
Sunday.
He also appealed to individual players not to focus on allowances but rather to
improve their skills to become more marketable in top flight football such as
England’s Football Association (FA).
And Acting team leader Lusekelo Kamwambi thanked the Zambian Embassy officials for
sacrificing their time to the team at the airport.
He said his team was extremely humbled by the gesture.
Kamwambi also said his team was focused and that it was prepared enough to deliver
desired results.
And goal getter Emmanuel Mayuka has assured the nation that Zambia would carry the
day with his two goals he would score against the Ivory Coast.
Good confidence from Mayuka. A striker needs confindence. Remember Mbesuma telling the SA press when he joined Chiefs that he was going to score 40 goals and evryone laughed at him but he proved them wrong when he came short of 5 to reach his target and managed 35 goals.
