Science and technology minister Gabriel Namulambe
President Rupiah Banda has fired Science, Technology and Vocational Training Minister Gabriel Namulambe as a Cabinet Minister with immediate effect.

President Banda said in exercise of the powers vested in him pursuant to the provisions of Article 44(5) of the Constitution of Zambia, he has terminated the Mr Namulambe’s appointment.

The President has thanked Mr. Namulambe on behalf of the Zambian people, for the services that he rendered to the nation during the period he served in various portfolios in Government.

This is contained in a statement made available to ZANIS by the President’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, Dickson Jere in Lusaka today.

  1. Namulambe Iam sure you foresaw this and that made you be prepared for the next move. Do not join George Chimbwi and start talking nosense. Show some maturity and only discuss developmental issues, especially in your constituency.
    Goodbye mune.

  2. There ought to be a law banning civil servants joining politics until after at least 5 years from the time they retire or resign from the civil service. Gabriel was a civil servant in 2006, joined politics the same year by becoming an MP and then minister under Levy. Gabriel was ill-prepared for the position of cabinet minister. He is hoping to join the PF-UPND alliance because he thinks MMD will not win in 2011 hence his utterances. This is typical of most chancers, especially those from the civil service who want to “enjoy in perpetuity”. Life is not that that.

  3. On a sunday? He could’nt wait ill till tomorrow when he’s in the office. This is why I say when Rupiya sleeps he forgets he is president and only realises that upon working up. So he just woke up today and thought oh I am president, is there any person who has been talking sence lately I fire him. I guess Kunda is next, not because he has been talking any sence, but the fact that the nation knows he is the one running the country while RB is eighter sleeping or braiing meat with his friends and Thandiwe’s relatives. Napela bane.

  4. There is life beyond been cabinet minister ,I concer with KANDASA just concentrate on something constructive hoping you already planed your future during the time yiou were seving. Dont be like Mpombo who after resigning started giving excuses that he was still sorting out some issues refusing to move from govt house and surrendering his vehicle

  5. am sorry after losing your wife on x-mas day , RB fires you . too bad my friend see you at candle light, your watering hole ( club)

  6. Good Evening

Fire him first without giving reasons why, and then thank him on our behalf for the services that he rendered? And all that on a Sunday…makes me suspect late effects of a Xmas/New Year hangover. LOL!

  7. For your own sanity and safety than to be in the same camp with Mike Mulongoti. We are waiting on the wayside for the crooks come 2011!

  8. Imwe ba # 1, #8 and # 13, Namulambe has arrogantly been singing the so called “legacy” song loudly backed by his Lamba tribesmen whom we hope will give him another job (sic). And you #4 a President works for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week!

  9. MMD in Luapula Province had asked President Rupiah Banda to dismiss Science and Technology Minister Gabriel Namulambe over his alleged tribal remarks.
Luapula provincial secretary Davis Chitwaka said that Mr Namulambe’s tribal remarks brought embarrassment to the cabinet and therefore President Banda should relieve him of his duties before thy go to the party convention on a date to be mentioned.

  10. # 15 yes we know a President weks 4 24days,7days a week but not our Bwezani.Y cant he fire the likes of Mulongoti,VP,Shika’s coz they talk nonsence most of the tym?As 4 Namulambe let others enjoy as well.Bye u are the weakest link.

  11. Legacy Fanatic! What type of grass have you been smoking? Your Rupiah Banda flies around the world on tax payers back like a virus and play 24 hrs & 7days a week. If he is not dancing vimbuza with Mswati, he is giving Jacob Zuma and the fellow tribesmen preferential treatment at the expense of Zambian companies like Zambia Airways. If you call that working then you must be living on Mars!

  12. This does not come as a surprise to those who have observed Mr Banda’s style of leadership. This is how it was done during UNIP’s dictatorship when ministers were humiliated and fired for expressing their honest views. More of these panicky measures will follow as 2011 gets closer and closer. As the saying goes, ‘ These are the last kicks of a dying horse’. The president’s puppets and bootlickers will be busier than ever before to win their master’s favours. However, the people of Zambia will have the last laugh when they deliver their verdict, come 2011

  13. This is a miscaculation Mr. Rupiah. You are making our work difficult on the ground. You have lost the whole Lamba (Copperbelt) no matter what you do, this one is a big mess for us.
Do you really know what is good for you and MMD? may you want MMD to go down with you.

  14. Ya,l agree wth # 19.If anyone calls wat Mr.RBB does as wek then they must be living on some planet where there are Aliens only.

  15. On what grounds has Namulambe been fired? Has he failed to perform as a Cabinet Minister? Someoe enlighten me please!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. What a new year present for Namulambe. You cant just bite the finger that feeds you and go unpunished. Now is free to speak against govt since he is not part.

  17. Long overdue action. Let’s now see how Mr. Namulambe conducts himself since he said he is a “heavyweight”. There are no opposing views that Mr. Namulambe expressed – just careless tribal bigotry. It is good to fire people over the weekend to save them the embarrassment of being fired during working hours or at press conferences when they are in attendance. RB should not be held to ransom by overzealous chaps.

  18. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all bloggers and LT!!!! Indeed it’s new year with new things / happenings back home. I persanolly thank and congratulate the Republican President (RB) for the stance and courage he’s taken over Namulambe. This move is, i know, aimed at promoting unity in the Country as Namulambe, knowing very well was Cabinet Minister, went openly tribal and issued threats/intimidations to would be challengers vis-a-vis his tribal statement. Now let’s see who is a real push-over as the ring is left and reduced only between the two them. I mean, he (Namulambe) has been pushed over and let’s see if he can resist. In Kaonde there is a saying that “mapuzhi kechi akila mansunsu ne”. The head of a human being will always be above the shoulders. Namulambe lacks critical analysis.

  19. Before you critsise the president find out the reasons this fertiliser will get a lot of pipo unswerable in Mpongwe.

  20. Is this Namulambe who donated a triumphant donkey to RB at the 2008 campaigns! The day is surely dying in the west!!!

  21. It’s good to see Rupiah Banda on the path of total self destruction,he’s doing a great job coz come 2011,we will be dancing to a different song,i don’t think rigging will even help him,he’s going!!!!

  22. INDEED, LEVY WAS A VERY DULL CHAP. FOR GOD’s SAKE, WHY MAKE THE RUBBISH IN RB AS VICE PRESIDENT. Don’t get me wrong. I am not complaining about the firing of Na…whatever. In fact it makes the PACT’s winning of 2011 elections easy. BUT, LEVY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT RB WAS SIMPLY COMING TO FINISH OFF MMD WITH KK ADVISING RB IN THE BACKGROUND. Just listen to nonsense KK utter in support of his brother-in-law. BYE, BYE MMD, YOU ARE FINISHED.

  23. The tribalism model has no national level dividends in winning politics. Otherwise HH who came in on the platform and vision of realizing a tonga only President could have been president of Zambia by now out of his 3 times self imposed attempts on the ballot.

  24. History is full of many failures among them Michael Sata a 4 times ballot reject whom if you follow his 2006 campaign trail that evolved on tribal hatred against Mwanawasa’s lamba he called unnecessary ichitundu. Unless one is still in deep slumber, politics of micro-nationalism has very narrow political constituency too impossible to deliver a national vote needed to enter statehouse.

  25. As a country we have a lot to learn from the two tribal leaders in UPND and PF now both in a clear political cul-de-sac. Look at Sata’s price for tribalism in North Western, Southern, Eastern and many rural parts where he is always on the tailgate with his dismal 3% votes margins. Winning a national election does not require a landslide in all regions but a steadstay outcome. The Zambian voting constituency is too big to believe it’s all in a tabloid.voters‘ Political decisions come with serious opportunity costs.

  26. Its ruining own career to fall on tribalism hoping that your tribesmen will fore go their social and economic development needs for a tribal identity cabal. What matters is development and social progress and not personality cult. I can only wish Nalubambe the best of lack as he learns of how callous those who have ruined his career are. He should watch the space if they ever draw near to his tribulations time may deliver him.

  27. Identity politics based on tribalism has no future in a multicultural Zambian society. It’s unfortunate that Zambia will be entering elections without a formidable opposition but insulting pieces. Real voters and strategists are alive to the task of renewing the MMD mandate. Zambian voters have no alternative and will have none by 2011 other than RB and the ruling MMD with whom they have prudently weathered historic storms.

  28. A scan through the political space proves that it’s only RB’s altruistic leadership with its sway that has ended polarization now steadfastly injecting in the much lost national unity and identity. The opposition voices have proved to be irresponsible anti-unity, anti-democracy bitter losers evolving their wrath on insults.

  29. Every peace loving citizen can agree that the utterances
made by Namulambe could lead to anarchy.Namulambe exposed his political
immaturity. Yes, it was a mistake by the Late Mwanawasa
to bring in govt characters like Namulambe simply because
they were his tribes-mate. RB is pruning the family tree.
By the time he is finished, nepotism will be a thing of the
past. The reason why we do not develop in Africa is because we give jobs to people who
aren`t qualified for their positions simply because they are our relatives.RB keep it up, you are doing a good job.

  30. He should have sacked the bstrd long ago for his tribal remarks. There is something called loyalty in politics. If he was against Banda, he should have resigned himself. His friends Mpombo and Magande have learned the error of their ways and are now coming back to the fold. Where in the world would you be allowed to insult your boss and expect to keep your job?

  31. Well Rupiah Banda needs Namulambe more than the opposite. RB is not smart he cant see that all the provinces that supported him are withdrawing. RB has now lost the whole Copperbelt rural, he has lost Western Province, North Western Province and the next in the line is Central Province. By next year RB will only have support from Eastern Province. MMD diminish the same way UNIP did in 1990. Even rigging will extremely be difficult. Good luck Gabriel Namulambe, we will adopt you on UPND/PF ticket. In the mean time go and spread the message across Lambaland- ati uyu muntu Rupiah Banda taliweme lukoso tufwile umufumyapo pachi puna.

  32. The firing is correct as we cannot talk tribal politics anymore. Mpombo has been smart and not pedled tribal politics. This guy Gabriel is just as illiterate as Mulongoti and does not deserve to be Cabinet Minister. Well done RB. We need sanity in govt and please do us proud show Mulongoti and Kunda the door. There are a lot of us whoc can do the job better than these minnows – particularly people like Mulongoti, please HE, deal with this person and save your face. He is a liability and has no constituency other than pretending he put you there. What if all of us who voted for you also wanted to be appointed Minsiters, won’t that cause anarchy in your govt? Mulongoti is indirectly inciting people against you, please fire him.

  33. Veteran and Davies, kindly allow me to comment on your comments;
    1. Veteran, get your facts straight bro, Sata has contested the presidency 3 times (2001, 2006,2008) and HH 2 times (2006, 2008) NOT 4 and 3 times as you suggest. We are not kids to be cheated that easily. Thats why you are peddling false analyses here. RB your hero? either you are a direct beneficiary or you simply a retard.

    2. Ba Davies, yes RB is prunning the family tree and replacing it with “wako ni wako” count his appointments and do the statistics….am sure you can manage to do this simple analysis and stop insulting the inteligence on Zambians.

Finally, the fact that MMD is still in power has nothing to do with popularity or perfomance….we all know why!…everything has an end…2011 looks like it for MMD!

  34. Dawa, there is no coherence in your posting, however it reflects your preoccupations. The idea of provinces acting and deciding as single minds is really foreign to any logical analysis. By the way Namulambe remains an MMD MP like Mpombo and Magande, needless to add that all 3 are now finnished politically.

  35. This is what happens when a mere Grade 12 occupies important office. Namulambe should have concentrated his efforts on developing scientific policy that would advance Zambia’s capabilities to develop technology. For instance the world currently has 4 billion users of mobile phones, and we all know that major technology for mobile phones components are made from cobalt and copper. Zambia produces these raw materials in abundance; this is the reason Namulambe should have been helping Zambia to get a niche in that market. He instead chooses to be become a spokesman of the “Legacy” at the expense of helping our country move forward. After 2011 he is more likely to go into subsistence farming. What a wasted career.

  36. Now Rupiah Banda is going to appoint the Lusaka Province MMD Chairman William “Malawan” Banda is the new Science, Technology and Vocational Training Minister. I have seen nothing tribal with the sentiments aired by Namulambe, it is taboo in our culture to speak ill of the dead because they cannot come back to defend themselves. Besides, Levy was probably the best head of State we ever had and it is unforgivable that Banda and his Malawan goons should be dragging his name in the mad like this. One honestly has to wonder what strategy, besides self destruction Banda, has for re-election. And working 24 hours, my foot, not that lazy goofy embacile.

  37. Here is what people dont want to hear ¬it is a good thing that Levy died because we will forever praise his name because we will never know what he would have done for the remainder of his term, We have learnt a lot from what he did maybe had he stayed a few more months or days we could have ended up demonising him. will never know>>>
But lets makes progress and not always talk about his legacy, in my view his legacy will come from the foundation he layed, if it is strong enough it will stand the test of time but to force others to do things like him is not the way to go…

Just imagine growing up and being told always that you should be more like your brother or your sister maybe they past away, wouldnt you just feel like saying `i am here and they are not` get reall people

  38. Pa # 44 and others
Surely when did it ever become a norm that a boss or leader or by whatever name you want to call them become beggars to those he appoints. How can you say he RB needs Nalumango more than the other way round???

The problem in Zambia is that because of your statement people are afraid to make decisions because they will loose friends perhaps that was the strong point with Levy, he lost many friend because he was not afraid to make big desisions

  39. #47 Good name and face. Forgive Veteran he is an MMD image builder in USA. He is one of the chaps who will be recalled to Zeb and answer for his actions. We shall assign Willie Nsanda to administer the punishment!

  40. #51 people want what your mentor promised during campaigns! They promised to follow the ‘the vision’ why u-turn?

  41. Veteran, Sata is not part of what the article is all about. You always confuse your self by trying to bring Sata and HH into this issue which is primarily to do with MMD and its govt. It seems you are always afraid of the two. My advice is, do not question the intelligency of the bloggers by trying to diverty from the really issue that has alot of complications to your party and not to the PF/UNDP pact. Spare us with your propaganda and rhetorics without measure. The danger with what MMD and its leadership are doing is to suppress and silence of those with different positive views.MMD leadership needs expedititious examination of where they are heading. It is so arrogant & ill thought for some of you MMD cadres to dismiss that Namulambe is not the factor in MMD popularity in rural CB.

  42. Mr. Mike Mulongoti, the Minister of Works and Supply and also acting MMD party spokesman, is an experienced politician but he does say some very curious and stupid things. A day on the national airwaves without some cringe-inducing gaffe is a rare blessing. He has not been too blessed lately. After his much publicized concept of who should go to prison and who should not, one would have thought he would learn to shut his mouth up. However, only last week at a farmers’ union end of year gala at the Intercontinental Hotel, Mulongoti urged a former cabinet minister and ex-chair of the farmer’s union during the Levy administration, one Mr Ben Kapita, a wheelchair bound paraplegic man to stand up to be recognized: “Ba Kapita abakalamba, stand up, let the people see you,” Mulongoti…

  43. shouted to Mr. Ben Kapita, before realizing, to his horror, that Kapita uses a wheelchair. “Oh, Lesa wandi!” Mulongoti said. “What am I talking about?”

  44. Too bad for namulambe, hope he will pick up the pieces and soldier on.I like the determination in this young man(gabriel)he has really fought his way through life coming from a very humble background.

  45. # 4…very childish remark. You go and steal on a sunday and lets see if the law will let you off the hook till monday….typical HAKASATA thinking….NO THINKING AT ALL.
Let him go and rekindle the family tree legacy .Enough with this nonsense.

  46. Whether RB fired or did not fire Mukandeke, this time around, his fortunes seem to be dwindling down like on a roller coaster. Iliko bad…!!! Mukandeke #47, is that your picture? I would love to take a closer look? You get it dear?

  47. It’s interesting how many of the Bwezarites on this site can’t see the danger Banda is ushering himself into by firing Namulambe for no other reason than complaining about the insults Banda and his lot are heaping on that dead man called Levy. When we go to the polls in 2011, they will cry and wish they did not applaud Banda’s alienation acrobatics.

  48. Lamba chiefs reject Banda’s ‘baby blankets’ – SOME Lamba chiefs on the Copperbelt Province have rejected the ‘baby blankets’ that were given to them as gifts by President Rupiah Banda when he recently met the traditional leaders in Luanshya.

Well-placed sources at the provincial administration in Ndola yesterday revealed that the traditional leaders refused to take the blankets, which are now marooned at the provincial administration office.

  49. “What happened was very embarrassing for the government and the President in particular. You know, when the President came to the Copperbelt where he even held a closed-door meeting with traditional leaders from the province at Luanshya’s Director’s Lodge, there was a ka token or should I say something prepared for the chiefs as well,” the source said.

  50. “To be specific the chiefs were given about K5 million each to take. The President and his delegation also came with blankets to give the chiefs. But the most embarrassing part of this whole saga is with the blankets. I don’t know whether the people who were purchasing these blankets didn’t know or it was just deliberate because we were shocked to see the bundle of blankets that had already been dispatched to the chiefs returned. When we inquired we discovered that the chiefs had rejected the blankets on account that they were small and somehow inferior or simply not benefiting their status.

  51. “The chiefs also felt lowered by the gift blankets because they didn’t expect to receive such a gift from the boss. For sure the blankets were small and inferior to be given to chiefs. It’s those blankets that are generally referred to as ‘baby blankets’ and are usually sold for K16,000 at Kamwala Trading Centre in Lusaka, that type which even sticks to your hair whereby every morning when you wake up you will have a task of removing them or you won’t go anywhere because they can be quite noticeable and embarrassing. No wonder the chiefs rejected them and as we speak now the last time I checked, the blankets were just bundled in the office of the secretary to the provincial permanent secretary unless they have removed them.”

  52. The source said the incident had embarrassed the provincial administration.
“You and I are Africans my brother hence we know how revered traditional leadership is in our society. We also know that chiefs are quite sensitive to such matters.

  53. That’s why some of the staff at the provincial administration complained that the government was just being disrespectful to the chiefs,” the source said. “I am told even the chiefs really felt demeaned that they could be considered for such a cheap gift. I am also told some of them chiefs were even suggesting that we government might as well go and dump those blankets at the nearest hospital or even a prison for prisoners to be using them.”
The source said there were manoeuvres to correct the situation.

  54. “Since this saga was quite embarrassing, the bosses want it to be kept secret because they have all realised the embarrassment it will cause when it comes out. That’s why they panicked and there was talk that there should be a replacement of those blankets,” the source said.

  55. When contacted for comment, Copperbelt Province minister Mwansa Mbulakulima could neither deny nor confirm.

“Which…who donated them blankets? But how does it come to me I’m in my constituency apparently? You have got your information somewhere else…so who has donated what?” Mbulakulima asked.

After a reminder that he was being asked in his capacity as provincial minister, Mbulakulima responded: “Provincial minister, how do I explain that? I’m…I’m not seeing a connection. I don’t see the connection. Eeee… I don’t know if… I am sure you are aware that I didn’t attend the meeting so how do I know what transpired there?”

  56. I am happy that RB is executing his duties diligently. I am also happy that economy is picking up. This is because of good governance exhibited through his excellency Ruphia Bwezani Banda. I am just urging all Zambians to be transparent in judging the Government’s performance. I for one would not even hesitate to vote RB back into power as long as he continues being focus and working diligently as he did one year in power.

  57. When told that he was not being asked about what transpired during President Banda’s meeting with the chiefs but about the donated blankets, Mbulakulima answered: “…Immediately after that meeting I am still in the constituency.”
Last month, President Banda met chiefs from Lambaland, among them chief Kalukumya, senior chief Ndubeni, senior chief Mushili, chieftainess Lesa, chieftainess Malembeka and chief Lumpuma.

Others were chieftainess Shimukunami, chief Fungulwe, chief Machiya, chief Shibuchinga, chief Mukutuma, chief Nkana and chief Nkambo.

  58. #72 Asssistant MMD chieflicker, When did you lastly visited Zambia to affirm or claim the economy is picking? You are in America and you have seen the popularity polls for Obama going down why? The economy is still not doing well. How can you claim that the economy is well sounded when 85% of the population have no access to clean water, healthservices, ruindown education infrustracture, no jobs, living in absolute poverty. The faces of the majority of Zambians say it all that they are suffering beyond doubt and they dont even know where the next meal will be coming. I think sometimes it is true to support blind when you are part of the failed govt because you are enjoying the national cake within the corridors of power and those close to them.

  59. Most well governed states do not keep a governing party in power for decades! Zambia to be well governed must embrace active and divergent participation by the populace. The idea that any divergent views boarder on treason by our governments have kept many intelligent and well meaning Zambians from getting involved in the political domain of our beloved state! Thank you MMD… but it is time for you to GO!!!

  60. If what Namulambe said about Mwanawasa’s legacy was tribal hence his firing; RB should also fire himself for altering even more unadulterated tribal remarks while campaigning in Eastern province (he is on record.) If anything, what Namulambe said was a timely warning and advice to RB. ‘Baku Mawa’ mini empire he is building in GRZ will not help.

I don’t think Lambas or any other tribe for that matter, apart from RB”s own clan, are fond of this man anymore. Accusing Namulambe of tribalism by RB is like a Hyena accusing a vulture of being greedy!! RB’s tribal inclinations are well known and have a long history. KK complained about RB’s tribalism when he was then Minister of Foreign Affairs in UNIP govt. Anyway, good luck in 2011, the electoral map is really shrinking for him.

  61. Interestingstaff!! Namulambe has been punished for defeding the legacy of zero tolerance to corruption as oppossed to the current legacy of 40% telerance to corruption…lol

  62. By the way, Namulambe will do just fine. He can now concentrate on providing for his constituency in the people’s house ( The Parliament). He is still young, with plenty of mileage still left on his political odometer. People who should be worried are those in RB’s league and still struggling to make something of themselves in politics.

Trust me, this is not the last you have heard of Namulambe’s name and other younger politicians whose names we are not yet familiar with. Their brevity to speak up and speak out will soon be common place when time for all these “old political crankers” is over!! I personally look forward to a period when expressing divergent views in govt is welcomed and appreciated.

  63. # 72 Assistant MMD Chief Boot Licker – Baba, you should be proud of where you come from, Kumawa Khumodzi and promote your provincial icons like mbeba and leave mosi o tunya alone. Bu inferiority complex lekeni, mwatusabila ba situkumba myebo, alah!

  64. RBB is exercising his powers what about the minister’s rights?? Band should specify reasons for firing ministers. He is abusing his powers and needs to be stopped before he goes too far…

  65. Gabby Nams be strong mwana. It is better to be fired for saying the truth than to be kept in government. Some are not ashamed being Ministers even when the tribunal has established a case against them of breaching the national Constitution.

It is only unfortunate that this comes shortly after a bereavement in your family. It is not the end you will rise again!!

  66. There is just to o much nosense going on GRZ officials have grown wings and have no respect for the appointing authority. One cant have it both ways. Fistly one is supposed to toe the party principles. E ven in Church you cat stand up and open critise the leadership. There has to be a system of and channels of communication. Let Gabriel prove that he is a political heavyweighty. We cant have this culture of insults be it in the opposition or the ruling party.

  67. good one mr. president. even levy didnt tolerate *******i. get your house in order. half the bloggers are in the diaspora. hopeless commentors like myself with no grassroot impact but just mopping floors and mooping vomit in nursing homes.others are chimbwi no plan selling makwebo.
    lets develop our country!!!!

  68. #79(Sebuloni Kamutanda)
From your posting, its easy to tell that you are Wakwa hae(Lozi tribalist) and a secessionist in support of the Barotse agreement. That explains why you are full of praise for your tribesman Milupi.Just continue supporting your local team.

  69. I have just come back from Zambia. I was there for three weeks and managed to touch a few places in different parts of Zambia. The situation on the ground is most people have no kind words for RB. He has fired Namulambe and the people of Zambia will in turn fire him in 2011. That is as certain as the sun rises in the east.

  70. Please check the Post online, with an exception of the two people (behind) on either side of Kanitundila, the rest are sooo aesthetically repugnant to the extent of giving credible credence that indeed man descended from ba Kolwe. And I hear in the Kolwe world, the dominant ones urinate on surbodinate ones as a show of who is the boss, so when Kolwe the babtist urinated on Banda, he was just identifying one of his own and putting him in his place in terms of hierarchy.

  71. And Kunda also, he is very sick, just look at how finished he looks! I think Bwezani should fire the red-lipped snake on “moral” and health grounds.

  72. #89 I thought we were supposed to be beyond stigmatising people who may or may have not HIV seeing that nearly every Zambian family has been affected by it? If your family has been lucky enough to have been spared this terrible scourge then good luck to you but please display some compassion for some of us whose family members have suffered and continue to suffer from this terrible plague.

As I have said above, there is such a thing as loyalty. You can not criticise your boss and expect to keep your job especially in politics. Sata wanted to expel party members who disagreed with him as did HH. Namulambe could have aired his views privately instead of criticising RB publicly. Namulambe only has himself to blame. Incidentally, when is PF going to hold a party convention?

  73. The eagle has landed,I can see MMD crushing it self oh is it UNIP crushing MMD!!!!!!Well done Bwezani we await ur exit in 2011 (16 months)….

  74. I think most people on this blog, either tamwakwata ifyaku landa or bushilu fye. You have people like Veteran who just go off tangent and even bring people into an argument that does not even involve them. Then you have others who just want to insult others. Guys mwaliba shallow… just debate issues rather than bore us with these childish fights. We are tired and want to see progress mu Zambia. Even our politicians are like this… that’s why nalekela ukutamba ZNBC new and don’t buy Post on most days. We need news but limo news just makes you feel like peuking. While you people argue about non issues abanenu mufyalo balechita progress and some of you in the diaspora are in some of these countries adding to the progress. Please mwebantu

  75. Obviously its not unusual for someone to disagree with his/her boss, or team on matters of principle. The most honourable thing to do when you disagree on matters of principle, is to resign and not wait to be given the sack. This is what Gabriel Namulambe should have done (assuming he is principled). Look at Mpombo, a useless empty tin before he made the seemingly principled move and resigned. Now the POST and everyone else think Mpombo is a fountain of wisdom. Alas Namulambe has been pushed. Lets see him jump and jump he will, all the way to PF or UPND.

  76. The firing may be good BUT the timing is surely wrong for RB…even if you had other reasons for firing Namulambe but the Lamba Chiefs & people of Mpongwe will think otherwise….where is AKA your political advisor on this one? …the whole of Copperbelt is now gone….there are a lot of stinking ministers you have not fired..you have lost it big man…NALEKA

  77. Jinx popo”” are you shot of what to write or something? you rescite what has been written in the post and just blot the # of postings. what’s this. readers deserve your own postings not the post postings for goodness sake… posting 64—73 is wasted space..damn

  78. Come on people, it is the President’s prerogative. when u are hired expect to be fired regardless of what what. Now we don’t want these frustrated chaps from MDD to bring confusion to the Pact. They can join but we will not adopt them.

  79. Namulambe is not serious. after been fired that’s when he realised that he has a constituency! All along he was pretending to be busy with Cabinet duties. How many meetings does the Cabinet hold in a quarter of a year. Come on now he has remembered the people. I wonder if the people still remember him

  80. free advice to RB. Do not stand in the next election. You will be honored. But knowing your insatiable appetite for a good life, and the backing of Mulongoti. kaya

  81. A nation cannot be held at gun point by nihilists expecting the people’s Government to thrive on appeaaling to their instincts of micro-nationalism through tribalism. That is too dangerous a route any Government can curve in to.To any patriot its heartening to see that President Banda and Zambians have collectively refused to be held at ransom by a cabal of nihilists landing what they don’t deserve on the basis of tribalism.

  82. I challenge someone here to check the voting record of chaps ranting they would not vote RB in 2011. They neither vote nor will they in 2011.I don’t see such tribalists being registered voters in 2011 but rumbling noise gongs in the wilderness. Zambia is bigger than any tribe and Ghost.Patriotic Zambians have no heart for the culture of personality cult losers are vainly belaboring to shove and inculcate on the voters.

  83. I implore RB to stay steadfast in sanitizing Government and politics of these misplaced tribal dreamers who have lived believing Zambia and GRZ should be evolving around their tribes and Ghosts of choice. We know the Zambian constituency better and can guarantee His Excellency reigning beyond 2011 with god on his side.Waste not a minute on dreamers.Just like he has spirited action groups on the economic frontier, also got unparallel spirited political machinists to deliver on politics come what may.

  84. The enemies of the people, the country, enduring peace and unity are very weak and desperate without a sanctuary.Politically, they are in a political cul-de-sac.Zambians are too descent for them. They will massively reject them like always.

  85. Well done Banda. In order for the Government to make progress, there is need for dcispline. Now you need to create hafmony and dcispline in the party

  86. # 99 you are right ..GOOD RB is tough now i can see..no joks i see nothing wrong with that ..good job rupiya..suck them out ..my uncle may get that post ..

  87. It would be interesting to know what makes ‘Veteran’ tick. He makes me sick. It looks like he writes things just to appease his master and keep his job, whatever it is.

  88. The Lambas are just a very small tribe of illiterates – don’t mind them. Levy was not purely lamba and he despised their lazy way of life almost daily. Wake up bafoloko, baspoon and start living. We are Zambians with diverse views and intellect but Lambas were mainly house servants and most of them worked for us on farms. Why make a farce today. Tribes to feed the country and the Lambas in particular are insignificant to the developmental cause of zambia. I would worry if the tongas cried because they are an economic force and feed mostof the Country. be real Lambas and let us learn to respect others.

  89. The Realist, I really enjoy your elucidations. You wouldn’t worry if it were the Tongas would you? Perhaps you would worry if it were the Bembas, I think. Or the Barotses. No. Realist. Let us worry if it is anybody. We are supposed to ne One Zed One Nation. Arent we? Including the……….Lambas? BTW is there such a thing as a Lamba? Sounds like a Brazilian dance.

  90. The Realist, I really enjoy your elucidations. You wouldn’t worry if it were the Tongas would you? Perhaps you would worry if it were the Bembas, I think. Or the Barotses. No. Realist. Let us worry if it is anybody. We are supposed to be One Zed One Nation. Arent we? Including the……….Lambas? BTW is there such a thing as a Lamba? Sounds like a Brazilian dance.

  91. #109 I am partly Lamba but dont agree with Namulambe whatsoever but I find your caricature of our Ethnic group rather pejorative and insulting. Dont forget that it was partly British policy to denigrate the Lambas as lazy simply because they resisted being drafted to work in the mines most of which were in fact situated in their traditional territory. Whether you like it or not, Lambas are part and parcel of the Zambian nation and their land has created a disproportionate amount of the wealth that the country has produced up until now. Please refrain from using out of date colonial era stereotypes in relation to the Lambas and treat them with the courtesy and dignity they deserve as citizens of Zambia.

  92. #112 Shimwalule – my comment is not tribal in any way but I find the cries by Namulambe and other tribalists unwarranted. Why play the tribal card as if Lambas are the only people in Zambia? The fact is – why would the Lambas resist working in the mines but opt to be house servants and garden boys? I am talking from experience we had these Lambas who used to work for us and you really needed to direct them properly to get anything done properly. If you are not there, you will find them drinking Mbote or Kachasu. If that is not a culture of laziness then tell me otherwise. Is it any wonder they did not want to work on the mines? The wealth of copper is natural and not because the Lambas settled in that area – any tribe could be settled there but that would not mean the copper is theirs!!!

  93. #109, The Realist:

Your language and portrayal of Lambas say a lot about what is in store for Zambia if we are not careful as a nation, and if leaders keep entertaining the kind of rubbish you are spewing on this blog. GOD HAVE MERCY! It is so unfortunate that in the 21st century there are people such as you still perpetrating the kind of insane mind set of colonialists.

Do you really want to start quantifying which region of Zambia has contributed so richly to the wealth of this country? Other than Lambaland, can you mention any other part of Zambia that has sacrificed their land, customs and wealth has Lambas have?

Is it the anonymity of the Web that is giving cowards like you some b.a.l.l.s to write this kind of nonsense for no purpose what so ever but to whirl up hate!

  94. I am Lamba but I quite agree with the (# realist) about our people. I wished we could perform better and not bicker on politics of appeasement and begging. We need to work hard for ourselves and not crying about the history of colonialisim as if we were the only who suffered under the colonial era.

  95. NAMULAMBE IS ONE TRIBAL PIECE OF @#$% WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED A LONG TIME AGO. THIS ‘LEGACY’ CRAP SHOULD END FORTHWITH. KK HAD HIS OWN LEGACY. FTJ HAD HIS OWN LEGACY. LPM HAD HIS OWN LEGACY AND RBB HAS HIS OWN LEGACY. WHOSE LEGACY WAS LPM UPHOLDING? BULLSHIT! HE WAS BUILDING HIS OWN. YOU FOOLS HAVE BEEN AWAY FROM HOME FOR SO LONG YOU ARE NOW WRITING SHIT. GET REAL

  96. Numlambe was fired for speaking his mind!!!Zambians are scared sh*t of the truth, how many ministers can today look at RB and tell him you are efing the country up?they are all mouth pieces and he who talks the most and loudest gets to flywith him(RB),just look at Mulongoti,Shikapwasha, etc they are empty vessels.#49 you should check who owns the copper mines, who markets the stuff and where the money goes.last time i checked China needs copper, they own the mines, they ship it home what do we get squat,so be smart and get your facts the world is round…

  97. oh wat a story. the truth pains men, namulambe was fired for saying the truth and it was so painful for RB that he fired him.sorry namulembe the bible says the truth shall set you free but for you the truth sent you away
