Briefs: Zambia Beat Angola, Warriors-Zanaco draw.

Share

Zambia this afternoon beat Angola 1-0 in a friendly international played at Independence stadium in Lusaka.

The two sides were level at 0-0 in the first half in the match that marked former Zambian coach Herve Renard’s first international meeting against his ex-team since joining Angola in April.

Zambia secured the win through a 79th minute goal scored by Zanaco striker Makundika Sakala.

Meanwhile, in the Super Division, Zanaco and Kabwe Warriors drew 0-0 in a delayed Super Division week 2 match played at Railway Grounds in Kabwe.

However, the result does little for Warriors and Zanaco’s standing on the log who are  remain in 7th and 12th place until this weekend’s matches.

  1. Renard did well to go, the truth has started coming. The Angolans will be disapointed. As for you Zanaco you have to win all the four games in order to be on par with Zega.

  2. good job! nice show. we need more of this in the CHAN, hopefully you will train to starting scoring in the first half and score a lot of goals rather 1 or 2 goals a game. nevertheless, good luck we are behind you. go zambia go.

  3. 1 & 4…instead of being miserable over Renard’s departure for the rest of the remain many years to come ….i suggest u move on and be gracious that the man set camp for his team in lusaka and gave chipolopolo a chance for a friendly match…and in a way the match win… just saved us from the embrassment over the 2 games cuts and bruises inflicted by both south africa and chile …thx to the former coach..keep the friendship with zambia..honourable man :d/:d/%-(%-(

  4. So who is now a better coach btn Renard who is being paid may be 5 times more than Luandamina with such results? Renard has failed 2 beat a team that he knows very well despite even the huge salary. That tells a story that football is not about the so called expatriate or whatever. So lets just invest in our local coaches. The issue of expatriate is nonsense. So Angolans are angry with their Muzungu.

  5. Nice that ZANACO iz reducing on the back-log of gamez they have. Well done FAZ fixtures department. The Zambia-Angola result iz not inspiring with regard to upcoming game against SA. The boiz must be psyched to win convincingly and not merely survive a game, which may prove costly.

  6. Come on people Renard just used the opportunity to collect the remainder of his belongings. The Sad part is that Zed will now all is okay despite last two humiliating losses

  8. I Think Renard has the right to choose and just because he chose to Leave Zambia for Angola doesnt make him our enemy… its this kind of imaturity that has lead this country to such a waste, people come and go use the past to improve on the present never despise the old/former/past its utter foolishness to do so. the ones who will ever regret is Us always talking and pointing fingers never implementing anything concret.look within yourselves and ask God to help you discover your purpose in life.

  9. Good Job HR… U brought forex to Zambia and gave Zambia an undeserved friendly for free. let us keep the friendship going…We should have more of such people.
