Battered wife will need plastic surgey to restore her nose

Share

The 28 year old woman of Kabwe’s Chowa Compound who had part of her nose and lip sliced off on Saturday by her 37 year old husband Barry Chibale after a marital dispute is said to be in a stable condition.

Kabwe Mine Hospital Medical Superintendent Doctor Ronald Chola told ZANIS in an interview, today, that Rutendo Bobo was in a stable condition and is expected to be discharged this afternoon.

Dr. Chola said Bobo’s lip has been stitched and is expected to heal properly in the shortest possible time but however regretted that her nose was irreparable and because of this her only option would be undertaking plastic surgery.

He said the hospital failed to suture. Bobo’s nose on grounds that by the time it was taken to the hospital it was dirty and infectious adding that in any case, the nose was badly sliced and could not be sutured.

He said the injury that was caused by the victim’s husband was a life-changing experience and that she would need a lot of spiritual support and counseling from her family and friends in order for her to adapt to her new outlook.

Dr. Chola advised other women that found themselves in the same predicament such as that of Ms. Bobo to rush to the hospital immediately they have been wounded so that they can be attended to on time because the skin and any body part was delicate and it was not to be exposed to dirty once it was chopped off.

  1. Wife beater, what a shame! please direct your muscles towards taking care of your family and increasing the countries GDP. Hope you will recover well Rutendo Bobo.

  2. What a disgrace. And the doctor advising women to take care of chopped pieces so they can be put back? Dont even know where to start. You mean domestic violence is so rife the only option is to advice women how to store body parts in case they get chopped off by the husband? This husband should not be walking the the streets with other people, he is the worst of scum, the brown right at the bottom of the barrel. If I was 6ft tall weighing at least 300 pounds I would personally teach these cowards a lesson and see how they fair with their own size. Scum bags!

  3. SOME WOMEN ARGUE THAT WHEN A HUSBAND IS ABLE TO BEAT YOU UP IS A SIGN THAT HE LOVES YOU AND CARES ABOUT YOU. BUT THIS 1.D.1.O.T SHOULD BE CAGED AS HE DOES NOT BELONG TO THE CIVILISED WORLD.

  4. Shame, that the very person whos supposed to love and protect you ends up causing you such damage. Its inhumane!

  5. Let the government take her to Spain for surgery using our taxpayers money coz em’ ****ers ur able to go to India,SA just 4 panel beating of the knee, court fever (heart check on the Lazo) using our fckn taxpayerz monie so let em’ do the same on the lady before they use it 4 By-electionz.

  6. shame what our world is coming 2 may the god lord deliver this man, if the waste comes play even take of the scores of the earth cose his inhumane behavior has got no room not even in our overcrowded prisons facilites the best is he just sees his demise.

  7. # 4 you said it right there!! not only is there a need to sensitise the public on how they ought not to tolerate domestic violence of ANY degree; without first having to wait for some part chopped off, the greatest need is to sensitise our doctors. gosh! Dr Chola!!!

  8. Sad story indeed, but I too am alarmed at Dr Chola’s comment. His advisie makes it sound like it is common place for women to be maimed by their husbands. I think his advise was misplaced or he found himself under pressure to issue a comment to the press when or he had to do was give a feedback on the medical condition of the poor lady. One would expect that he would have advised women not to find themselved in such situations in the first place by getting out of physically abusive relationships

  9. we need to wait and hear what she did to him. moreover, the doctor has to give a report concerning his field so you don’t really expect him to go into what transpired, where the hubby went and police issues, no. his comments are right and cant be condemned. all he advises is take care of your chopped piece and rush to him before its too late to have it fixed if you are found in such a situation. as for lusaka times they are know for poor reporting. no back ground information to what really happened. you guys are pathetic with your reporting. fu.ck u lusaka times

  10. Some advise to the ladies once a man starts to beat you up please leave him it means he doesn’t love and respect you, this couple has had a lot of break up coz of the man oways beating his wife that is why they even decided to separate but unfortunately he had to trace her on Saturday and thats when the lady meet her demise.

  11. #4. What do you expect the doctor to do. His job is to look at peoples health and give them correct advice. While priority should be to prevent violence in the first place, would-be victims should be awaer of how to hundle things if it happened to them. I think there is no shame in the doctors advice.

  12. the problem with some wives that even when it’s clear she is married to a monster they still decide to hang on to marriage, just for the love of being known as a “Mrs” Chakuti chakuti. My bet is his violence started a long time ago but she decided to ignore it. There is no way he could have unleashed this sort of violence without any prior violence acts.

  13. Some men are really wicked how do you do such a wicked thing to someone who has been on yo side all along, the lips that you have enjoyed all along? ya we need NINE CHALE to comment on this matter

  14. This is shameful and uncalled for. Why do people fight? I do not understand all this mess. If you do not need your friend, simply chase her away rather that battering. It is shameful and the guy needs to be charged

  15. Wife/huzband beating iz a psyco-social dizeaze and thoze infected need a lot of counselling. The beating iz not done out of love, but iz rezult of some complex of the mind.

  16. Ala sure this man must be jailed? why why why doing this to your love…why people why? I feel like crying why people, your love…why?

Let her be taken for plastic sugery wherever using out tax money. Let my tax be spent on her than RB’s kneel and Chiluba’s fake heart condition.

Well thought, instead of wasting time the government must send this woman abroad for specialist treatment.

  18. I agree with #23 the government should get involved take the victim to South Africa where Chiluba was taken. what is the difference between the thief and this woman.

  19. dont be naive pipo. spare Dr. Chola. All he is traying to say is do what you can to control what you can. In the real world, these things will regratably happen and if there is something you can do to minimise the damage. So dont crusify the doc, he was not there
