Mulongoti does not regret challenging Kunda

Mike Mulongoti
Dismissed former Works and Supply Minister Mike Mulongoti says he does not regret declaring his interest to contest the vacant MMD vice presidency at the forth coming party convention.

Mr. Mulongoti says he is proud of what he did and does not regret his decision to challenge vice president George Kunda.

In an interview with QFM, Mr. Mulongoti says it is one of his democratic rights to challenge for any position of his choice adding that his rights are protected by the republican and party constitution.

And when asked what his next step would be after his suspension from the ruling party as party, Mr. Mulongoti says he is patiently waiting for the formal letter from the national executive committee (NEC).

Mr. Mulongoti was on Saturday fired as works and supply minister by President Rupiah Banda on grounds that he had been attacking Vice-president George Kunda and the president.

And the MMD National Executive Committee (NEC) has recommended to its party convention for the expulsion Mr. Mulongoti from the party as chairman for elections.

  3. He said immediately after briefing and passing the computer printout to President Banda, he went on radio and television where he announced that the MMD would win by 50, 000 votes.
Dr Chitala said that statement caused difficulties in the competitors’ camp but it was politically correct because it revived the morale of MMD supporters who could have become ill.

But it was politically correct! How?

  4. Way to go Mulongoti, tell them, they should know RB and his folks that democracy and freedom of expression should prevail without fear, favour or intimadation in our country.

  5. Rupiah,Red Lips and Chiluba are evil people.Firing Mulongoti for challenging Kunda is a barbaric act because it’s really his democratic right to go for any position in a democratic state but of course not under the UNIP Bwezani and Tekele.

  6. i hear Mulongoti is looking for attachment/job at any Legal firm, he has a Degree in Law…at least his friend Mpombo has a farm + 66 caws and 200 chickens…:d

  7. I thought the MMD vice presidency was vacant. If so why is it always being reported that Mulongoti challenged Kunda?

Infact if we look at the issue with the word “challenged” in mind, in fact kunda is the one who challenged Mulongoti, since Mulongoti declared interest in the position first before Kunda

  10. Why does RB want kunda to be unopposed? The man is really inefficient. How does he hold three positions-Minister of Justice, Republican Vice president and Party vice president and expect him to perform. How about family and business matters? This is greed! No person can be appointed Minister of Justice in Zambia? .Ba RB………………………………..

  11. You reap what you plant…talking too much has a negative cost, especialy when one support rude and cruel leaders

  12. Just go to PF Mulongoti. It is the only party that can tolerate divergent views. If you need examples, ask Hon Machungwa, and oh yes that female Mayor of Lusaka (what’s her name again?) who was expelled from PF by Sata simply for meeting Chinese President Hu Jintao at the airport as part of her civic duties.

  13. rb knows that kunda is nothing and pipo like mulongoti can easily win an election…..bootliker for life am sure thats the motto for kunda…donchi kumweba

  14. What goes round come round. No much sympathy for Mulongoti. Aya malibu yakuilombela. You made Magande to to chased now it is your turn

  15. Everything has got its time. Am sure he knew what he was doing when challenged the Vice. Good luck in your future endeavors.

  16. Good riddance .. teta out., Mulongoti Out. We wait for William banda and Sata to komboka soon from heart attack then zed politics will be clean
