FORMER vice-president Enoch Kavindele says it is disrespectful for a young person like Patrick Mwanawasa to refer to President Banda as a stubborn man.

Mr Kavindele has advised Patrick to tone down his language because he is too young to engage President Banda in a confrontation.

He said in Lusaka yesterday that it is uncalled for, for Patrick to issue statements such as the one which appeared in yesterday’s The Post Newspaper in which he said President Banda’s stubbornness would be his downfall and that he (the President) cannot bring Patrick down.

“Let me advise young Patrick to mind his language because it is too strong and he is too young to address President Banda in that manner,” Mr Kavindele said.

Mr Kavindele said politicians using Patrick to issue such statements are not building his political career but are simply destroying it.

He said the MMD would have liked to nurture Patrick but it is his democratic right to belong to a political party of his choice.

Mr Kavindele said Patrick should not think that belonging to the Patriotic Front puts him at the same level as its leader, Michael Sata, because he (Mr Sata) and President Banda are elderly people.

“Mr Sata and President Banda are more less peers as they are almost the same age and they can call each other names. But it is wrong for Patrick to think he can also say anything he wishes to say,” Mr Kavindele said.

Mr Kavindele said former President Mwanawasa would have liked his son to continue in the MMD, but it is unfortunate that he has decided to take a different path.

“His father was my friend and I know he would have liked him to continue in the MMD and we would have liked to guide and nurture our nephew,” Mr Kavindele said.

He said Patrick could engage President Banda if he needs assistance, instead of embarking on a ‘misguided route’.

  1. You have a point Mr. Kavindele but then again when elderly men marry young girls, the young boys tend to disrepect the elderly men since these elderly men “mingle” with young girls.

    • The age thing is a shockingly ignorant remark. In democracy everyone has the right (even the responsibility!) to express their opinions freely and to criticize their government if they want to.

So-called “elder statesmen” like Kavindele should know this and would do better to focus on defending EVERYONE’S right to participate in this democracy than to cause confusion by saying that political freedom depends on age or applies only to an elevated class of leaders. A modern, democratic state cannot be run like some tribal council where only the elders get to speak and everyone else kneels in subjugation.

    • Patrick’s language is not a sound legitimate political comment sir. That language can only be found or used by senseless politicians

  2. What did the young man say apart from responding to the smear campaigns and the venom coming from this man called President, who if I remember clearly was redeemed by the same young man’s dad he wants to destroy so desperately.

  3. baba kavindele cmon, its political lunguage baba,u want the young man to fld his arms and rb shld have it easy?no no noway sir,as far as i can recall patrick did not insult rb.welcom to reality.

  4. GOOD ADVISE BWANA KAVINDELE THIS BOY HAD A GOOD POLITICAL FUTURE BUT THE VULGAR LANGUAGE HE HAS GLASPED SO FAST FROM SATA IS TRUELY NAUSEATING I USED TO LIKE HIM BUT HE MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THROW UP. SATA IS DESTROYING THE YOUNG BOY, IMAGINE THE MAN HE INSULTS IS HIS DAD AGE MATE,RB WAS ALMOST 50 YEARS WHEN PATRICK WAS PROBABLY JUST A ZYGOTE, GROW UP YOUNG BOY

  5. Zambia, with its culture of suppression were the young must take all insults and vial from cruel old people while they lay down and take it like it is normal. Kavindele must know that even akanyelele if it sees you pursuing it may attack back in defense. The young man is no longer a baby, he is an adult and must be afforded the same privileges afforded to Banda. After all Banda is just a human being like any other human being and does not possess the monopoly of wisdom. Evidence is how Banda has treated those that have crossed path with him. Banda has insulted Bembas during the by elections in Kasama, he said bad things about Sata, ifisapo. How does that make him deserve any better than the other people that insults openly during rallies?

  6. Typical muntu ! Calling someone stubborn is an insult ! Ubufontini but a millinoaire Kavindele. . What a joke pa zed !!!

  7. True ba kavindele!let people not use patrick for their personal agendas.in our culture, even when you differ with an elderly man,you can never point a finger or insult them.its morally wrong.let his campaigns be issue based.

  8. Running a public office is different from running private life, hence mr kavindele you should expect such things.

  9. Zoona ba Kavindele nabo bapuba. Whats wrong with Patrick pointing out a fact about RB. Its just like in a home, if you parent is stubborn theres no other word to use to describe him. RB is stubborn and shallow, thats the truth. Deal with it!

  10. MR KAVINDELE I WONDER WHT U WOULD VE SAID IF PATRICK WAS MMD & USED THOZ SAM WORD 2 PRESIDENT SATA? Same people advising youths 2 join politics bt saying the oposit whn youth do lik wise.VIVA PAT O DE YOUTHS RE BEHIND U UNLESS IF DE 1ST LADY IS NOT A YOUTH THN RB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SO MR KAV START WTH RB.WE RESPECT U SO DONT START US ALSO

  11. So it is morally right for the older to mistreat and insult young ones? So says who? And in this case, Patrick has just stated political facts. Can someone point were Patrick has insulted Banda? Who gave Banda the right to finish or destroy other people’s political careers? More especially the upcoming ones like Patrick? A wrong is a wrong regardless of were it comes from. Banda is wrong by trying to destroy the young man. Politics is not a game for the feeble and the young man is just showing what it takes to be one. No fear. Fight back if and when necessary. No one has a right to stand in his way. Banda will not feed this young man.

  12. Ba Kavi . Levy fired you clled him names. Please leave patrick alone to fight with RB after all the old man has married a young girl Thandi fit to be his daughter

  13. I think Kavindele has not been living in Zambia of late to know that his president insults and promotes campaigns of insults through Public Media and his Dora and Ron. He is the leader. Patrick is just emulating.

  14. I sometimes get nauseated by people who says patrick is being used by politicians! Which politicians? Patrick is not a toddler and has joined politics, so he is a politician! As for assistance,if the president has plenty to offer, let him direct it to others who are in a worse off position than patrick.I sometimes get nauseated by people who says patrick is being used by politicians! Which politicians? Patrick is not a toddler and has joined politics, so he is a politician! As for assistance,if the president has plenty to offer, let him direct it to others who are in a worse off position than patrick.

  15. Kavindele, “you can’t have your cake & eat it!” Try to differentiate ASSERTIVENESS & COURAGE from Insolence, Disrespect & Insult. Simply standing up to him, & predicting his downfall, is no insult. If anything , it is good advice!! Democracy that we all shout about has these values entrenched in it, thus one can voice an opinion, mount a challenge without fear of offence or reprisal becoz that’s what true democracy entails. There is a saying,”If it beomes too hot in the kitchen, or too hot to handle, leave it or the kitchen!!” So if it’s too hot for RBish, he can simply leave for his farm, & save us all, the pain!!!

  16. Patrick is Just calling a spade a spade, a Baboon a Baboon and a Monkey a Monkey. U call them what you want Kavindele. Patrick calls them as he see’s them

  17. I am the same age as Patrick and have literaly no respect for RUBBISH BIN or RETIRED BASTAR’D (RB). He’s just but a chancer that was rescued by Mwanawasa from the shuckles of poverty and now wants to be a King. the writtingis on the wall, the people who helped him i 2008, mulongoti, Tetamashimba and FTJ are not longer there. WAPYA MUNZIIII

  18. Its high time Zambians started respecting other people’s opinions! I personally think Kavindele is asshole..

  19. Kavindele just shut up,concetrate on ur rail line project which RB has given you again. All ur businesses had gone down due to mismanagement.Grow up former veep, this is what you expect if a father and his son meet at a disco, the father can call his son ati boyi.its politics bwana.Didnt HH say rubbish about RB sometime back where RB told HH he is a son of a DOG?what respect did RB show? father can call his son ati boyi.its politics bwana.Didnt HH say rubbish about RB sometime back where RB told HH he is a son of a DOG?what respect did RB show?

  20. You people who are out of the country please guide us well u seem to like insults or strong language. Please show that you are civilized otherwise mubwatukabwatuka chabe

  21. Give us the insults from Patrick, we will give the guidance. What do you regard as strong language? Facts?

  22. i love patrick. i respect his choice of a party at his heart. i love ba rupiah though i don’t like his leadership style fore instance these harry harry projects he is undertaking could have been planned out in the good space of time and people would have interpreted them as good plans from a good leader for a good leader plans ahead and not on voting day.so many examples cant fit on this page .
my advice to patrick mwanawasa as my admirer is that you remain respectful to elderly people even as you engage them politically them am sure you will attract even my household.
remain politically strong by following the biblical principals on leadership first and foremost. love your God because he loves you even more!

  23. Say what!!!No respect!!
Case in point!!! The young one must first learn to craw(respect elders) before he can walk let alone run.Only PF supporters are giving him a thumbs up for his disrespect because they are all being groomed by the so called King cobra who believes disrespect is the order of the day!!No wonder PF will never be in government!!

  24. Politics has nothing to do with age. When you are playing ball in the field, there is no consideration for age. How ever, it is as clear as a blue sky, that Patrick is definately headed the wrong way. He will end up a clown himself, with no political future, but just a sucrificial lamb.

  25. How did he disrespect Rupiah? By stating that he cannot bring him down? Or is it likening Rupiah to Gbagbo? Ha ha ha ha ha. Facts guys. It seems like MMD cadres cannot take the truth.

  26. Am old enough to be Patrick’s father but I dont agree with Kavindele’s interpretation of respect. We know Kavindele is looking for favours from the MMD hence his loss of reasoning. Politics has no age or status be you a chief or a subjet. It is a boxing ring where you hit and shield without mercy

  27. The fact is Patrick did not insult RB, Instead it is SATA who has been insulting Patrick’s Father wjile alive and even in death. And so Patrick shud know who to take vegeance against. SIMPLE! I for one can not tale kindly to some one ‘***** lumpen’ insulting my parents let alone eat same table in the name of politics, NONSENSE!

    • ZK, Mwanawasa and Sata reconciled, no wonder RB can’t live with who hold different views from his own. Grow up and stop this infantile behavior.

  28. Yaba. There’s nothing insulting about the word “stubborn”, what is wrong with people? Stubborn rabbits ala

  29. Self defense you clown! Who made u the referee? Keep it up Patrick, don’t listen to these dried up minds.

  30. Iwe kavindele ati shani what about these small boys bena Chifire and Lifwelwlo thy are too young
    to be insulting Sata.

  31. This Kid needs to go BACK to school and get some decent qualification. What this kid does not realise is that this is not 1964 when Zambia had a  100 graduates. Gone are the days when we shall ever have an illiterate in State House. That just comes once in a blue moon. Chiluba was the last and this country will never ever want to have another bus  conductor, primary school teacher or train shunter in state house whose preoccupation will be to get academic credentials. Time to go to school is now.

Young man do yourself a favour. There are enough i d i o t s on the Zambian political scene to take on RB. You should be planning of what you will be in 20 years time now and education is a basic you need to get out of the way now.

  32. Whaaaat…… Ubufontini indeed its stubborness paterning to polityical advise that Patrick alluded to not the misconcerption brought out by our former vice president let the boy speakout on issues go on Patrick.

  33. Politics of the belly indeed a few months ago Kavendele Kavondondo was insulting RB now RB has become an angel anyway shit happens.

  34. HIS LATE FATHER BLUNDERED BY BRINGING BACK AN OLD MAN WHO WAS PEACEFULLY RESTING AT HIS FARM..THE YOUNG MAN HAS ALREADY STARTED MAKING BLUNDERS BY APPROVING THE OLD TO TAKE THE LEAD. U HV BLOCKED YOURSELF..

  35. if you can say patrick insulted RBish, i don’t know what you will say to what malema tells the so called elderly people without brains. all these elderly people in zed without brains have failed us and it’s time us the youths rose up and strike like a volcano. it’s only youths who can take our country forward.

  36. You may as well advise us not to call you Kavindele but “Ba Kavindele” to show respect. Who told you stubborn is an insult?

  37. Ba Kavidele ba mudala have a back bone please..!!….Zed politicians so easily bought…Patrick mwandi stand your ground and dont back down…even if they stand you at the gates of hell…

  38. RAIL LINE AND MINE PROJECT IN NORTHWESTERN ARE NOW GIVEN BACK TO KAVINDELE ! NO WONDER! BUT EK PLEASE ALSO TRY TO FIND OUT WHY PATRICK IS USING THIS TYPE OF LANGUAGE.

  39. Mr Kavindele,u have become a RB vuvuzela now that u have railway line licence. Who told u calling a sped a sped is bad language? Leave the young man alone, It’s public knowledge that RB is stubborn because he said it himself. Piece of advice mr millionare’ control ur doggish loyaty’

  40. yes spot bwana Kavindele. the behavior of people reflects the values of the club they belong to. PF is a party based on insulting others and belittling other tribes and showing disrespect to anybody else apart from their cult leader Mr Micheal Chilufya Sata. therefore young Patrick has been inducted in the PF hall of fame and the Insulting academy. this young boy will very soon have a boyfriend i can speculate who this could be.

  41. There’s nothing like respect in politics that’s why it’s a dirty game. It’s in the name of this respect that old morons have made our country to have stunted development because no one talks about them because of the same respect thing.
Politicians should be ready to face anything that comes there way be it insults, slaps or eggs, that’s nature of politics and that’s why many religions do not support politics.

  42. The elder should first respect the young but RB is equally guilty in this area. Is Sata not older than Chanda Chimba, and the shebana wikwite three hungry musketeers, Chifire,Lifwekelo and Sakala? Why is RB not stopping Chamba from insulting Sata? Ba Kavindele ka Rail Line has blinded you

  43. kavindele are you same age with KK whom you where insulting wen u where campaigning in mmd please think before you useless yourself to the public

  44. Kavindele just shout up and be content with the corrupt tender you where given to keep you close to them wait after election you will realise were using you.

  45. Kavindele should be the last person to say such things. We have not forgotten how you alleged that the President was just giving business to his closest relatives and sons. And all of a sudden we saw him endorsing the candidature of the incumbent. And just recently this same shameless fool announced the north west railway line concession with an american company. Problem with most of these politicians is that politics is no longer that service to the people but a way of getting richer at the expense of the humble masses. Leave patrick alone.

  46. It is common for elderly people to brand young ones as being desrespectiful whenever they notice potential threat. Politics have no entry age limit and Mr RB became one at a tender age. Ba VJ entered politics young. We need to bench elders for the sake of development. Even in Churches elders always brand youths as imature and not able to do anything. But when it comes to working they want youngsters to do the dirty work and leave the counting of MONEY to themselves

  47. I dont mind what others say but the young man should be respectiful to elders,. HERB is even older than his late father. Hence, there is every reason to be respectful

    • What is disrespecful about him saying RB is stuborn? I really cant see anything wrong with this statement in all fairness.

  48. I disagree with Kavindele. Firstly, to say someone is stubborn, wheteher young or old is not offensive or disrespectful. There is nothing un African about it. We call thieves (like FTJ) thieves whether young or old, alive or dead. Secondly, Patrick was responding to a political campaign against him by MMD that RB heads. Thirdly, Patrick was a son to Levy, who was brought up by his father. He therefore understood his father better than Kavindele did. In any case, Sata’s PF looks more of MMD than MMD itself that look more UNIP. So Patrick is where his father wanted him to be, but mostly importantly, he is where he wants to be. Out curiocity, is Kavindele still MMD? or was Patrick ever a member of MMD? I thought someone had said that this boy was never a member of MMD? Zambia, lets explore!

  49. Kavindele as your name goes tubukas wud say ‘NDIWE CHINDELE’ meaning ‘F**L’. Enock does the word Stubbornness mean an insult or just mare description of one’s charecter? Just becoz you have been given a go ahead on your RAILWAY project now anyone who says the negative trueth about HE. RB is being disrepectful, dont hero worship take things as they are, the man Our president is surely just like Patrick derscribed him.

  50. Kavindele please leave Mwanawasa alone!!!!! He was just calling a spade a spade. WE love u Patrick. You are the voice of the voiceless. Why are you trying by all means to intimitade everyone.  who can respect Banda when he felt like having sex when a lady was giving birth in public

  51. Politics as  we  have carbon copied them from the  West have no African values. when you go into Western Style politics the  age thing dissappears

  52. Does this man have a dictionary at home? Oppressive ignorant African playing

The respect card to get away with murder.. Pathetic.

  53. I guess its a give and take situation. The elderly (from which ever age???) should respect young ones too.

  54. …but Bwezani Rupiya is stubbbon. If one man has one ASS (donkey), the others have to walk…

  55. Kaavindele should also tell Dora, Chanda chimba, Lifwekelo and all young MMD vuvuzelas to stop insulting SATA. SATA is also old enough to be their father. “Chiwamina galu kuluma mbuzi” not vice versa. Bakavindele you have also started speaking with your stomach and not your head. Let RB announce election date and not to hide in ECZ as ones who are not ready when it is actually him who is not ready for elections. His ministers are all over the country conducting last minute desparate attempts to convince voters.

  56. Madoda my brother, I totally agree with your observations because these crooks in MMD are still in a cacoon believing that people are dim. The era we are in is called knowledge age and infomation is everywhere, rural and urban at the press of a button. MMD doesnt even realise that their myopic propaganda on Sata has worked against them. Look at that ugly Chanda Chimba the fimo fimo, he goes on our public media to daily insult the incoming President and the so called Kavindele is tight lipped because of tu ma rotten rail contracts. This is bullshit and Zambians are extremely upset and fatigued by the 20 YEAR devastation rule by MMD. We are tired of MMD, what other language do understand kanshi? Dont KUBEBA, Nawakwi just support PF and Sata because RB you supported in 2008 is a DISASTER!!

  57. I feel sorry for Patrick Mwanawasa, is this the way your father brought you up (MHRIP), sure, sure Patrick. Sata and Mmembe will use you and dump you. You are are still young and can make a right decision instead of going to bed ith people who literally killed your father. SHAME ON YOU PATRICK.

  58. Sata is in bed hiding again. How come we have not heard any ru.bbish from his mouth lately? Matenda ya njoka yakulilatu futinso.

    • SMH…That’s the problem with simpletons like you every time you see a politician like chi RB on the stage or making relevant announcements you call that working and when he is in the office strategizing and brainstorming he’s sick!!

  59. Us we are busy campaining, ni pa bwatoooooooooooooooooooooooo fye that’s what we wake up with, eat with and nap with ubwatoooo chapwa. Abantu balechula mu Zambia so, ka answer ni CHANGE chabe. Mr Sata, PLEASE lets take the message of hope to ALL the corners of Zanbia in their language. Am extermely impressed with Scott, easy but the messaging is sinking where we need it. To my PF brothers and sisters lets not lose sight but rentless campaign for our leader Sata with conviction and alertness. Keep well all you good patriotic citizens.

  60. Things that stifle our development is not critising the authority be it age-wise or otherwise. Zambia belongs to the older generation as much as it belongs to the younger one. Age has nothing to do with reasoning. It’s in ancient times we used to obey to whatever an senior citizen coughs out but times have changed, the world has changed. Democracy means we are all equal and should participate in the affairs of our country freely, including freedom of speech. If you tell someone that they are stubborn, are you disrespectful? Senior citizens should now start listening to us the younger generation because we are the future that is shaping our society. Ifi muchinshi destroys us a lot to a point we cannot critise aba kalamba because of culture.

  61. This is what happens when you overstay your political welcome. Kavindele and his crew should be resting now, guiding the new political entrants in the way they should grow. Instead, they are hunting the same girlfriends, running after the same political fortunes and trying to understand new language. Remember every generation has its language and for those who lag behind it is always insulting!!!! Careful!

  62. Patrick, consider yourself luck to receive this Timely Advice, its not a joke because it will shape your political career. In politics and life in general you don’t react out of impulse, you may have a good point to defend yourself but how you say it matters – maturity or immaturity. Being the former president’ son does not guarantee you success automatically – the way you handle criticism is a mirror and the people will always judge you from that, and don’t think Mr. Kavindele has anything to lose and no one is standing on your way up.

  63. We all know why Kav is coming out with guns blazing in support of RB. Ka concession ya njanji RB gave him after battling for so long. We know he was going to contest the post of VP of MMD but caved in due to pressure from RB, so ka reward was injanji kaili. Let him talk to be seen to be on the side of RB.

  64. Maybe you should leave the dirty game to the young people Kavindele if you cant handle the critics. This is politics and not a family gathering or reunion.

  65. 69, PUSO, walasa.Insapato shilapwa pano pa Zed, imilomo ukuma, ichunsu ukubutuluka.Kushalafye nelyashi lyamuma tavern.

  66. KAVINDELE YOU HAVE BEEN SILENCED COZ U GOT WHAT WAS GRABED FROM YOU BY THE LATE LEVY—– THE CONCESSION TO DEVELOP THE SOLWEZI–CHINGOLA RAIL LINE, SO WHAT DOES ONE EXPECT FROM YOU?……WHEN YOU STARTED MAKING NOISE ABOUT CHALLENGING GEORGE FOR VICE-PRESIDENCY, RB KNEW HOW TO ZIP YOUR MOUTH….LEAVE PATRICK ALONE…..HE IS NOW A POLITICIAN AND HE IS USING THE SAME LANGUAGE WHICH YOU OLD POLITICIANS HAVE BEEN USING SINCE POLITICS WAS INVENTED……..SO BWANA KAVINDEDLE JUST KEEP QUIET AND DEVELOP YOUR RAIL LINE……THE CHANCES ARE IF YOU WERE NOT BRIBED, YOU WOULD BY NOW DEFECTED TO THE CHIBWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  67. Iwe Gambino #64, if you have no principles, please leave Patrick alone. You are a hypocrit, liar and deceiver. Patrick knows excatly what he is doing by joing the party that believes in what his father, our late president Levy MHSRIP believed in, FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION. Am absolutely sure that those who loved Levy are rallying behing PF and Sata and Patrick in an effort to continue with Zambian dream which we realised in 1991. Now UNIP/MMD crooks are reversing everything we fought for and we wont allow it NO NO NO, Zambians wake up my countrymen!! Let’s make hay whilst the sun shine, meaning lets maximum on our copper profits whilst the boom lasts and this can only be realise by REAL MEN led by Sata. Napela!!

  68. Lets redefine what constitutes Insults in our languages and in English so that we do not embarass ourselves or utter innappropriate words

  69. I think the age group for politics should now be from 35-55 years of age. Nothing more and nothing less. This should seriously be put into consideration

  70. i remember Rupia Banda saying that he is a stubborn, referring to himself. was he insulting himself? i had respect for Kavindele but not anymore. he’s a useless old man willing to sell he’s reasoning for twelve pieces of silver. to hell with him!

  71. Patrick should rather concentrate on furthering his education and LEAVE politics as of now since we have a lot of POLITICAL *****S AROUND who will take on each other!
Believe me this year is the worst in terms of POLITICAL IDIOCY, TOTAL IDIOCY is what am seeing everywhere.

  72. Pro Rupiah or not the boy was offside. Please lets not forget our values especially those about respect for one another. We need them as a country because I do not see how we can develop with this culture of name-calling and insults. We must debate issues maturely so that the electorate make an informed decision on who to put in Plot 1. For young Patrick please desist from that type of language because people are watching you. You may get the headlines in the papers but mind you its the people on the ground who vote. Do not play to the gallery because you will end up destroying yourself. Those encouraging you to insult have already lived their lives. Choose wisely how you want to live yours. You can still be popular by being humble and issue-based.

  73. Elder Statesman,

Just contniue constructing your railway line and avoid antasgonising other Zambians, change has to come and you better

  74. some people are saying Patrick chikopo- politics has nothing to do with education. What has the so called educated people in mmd done for zambia– stealing ! people should understand that respect is a 2 way thing!!!

  75. It does not matter if the word does not mean insult, the problem is young men do not know when and where who to use it to. Just a sentence can mean alot if misappropriated. But you take word by word from the sentence there will be no insult. I can say the same sentence to a young man no one will say it insult but say the same thing to an elderly person, you will be in trouble.

  76. i wonder what this counry will be if PF wins(God fobid it will never happen)encouraging insults.!patrick must sober up and be SATANA.

  77. There is nothing wrong for any young man to call an elderly man stubborn. Is not an insult. He has every right to express himself as long as he does not insult.

  78. Kavindele has not paid attention to amount of insults that RB and his government has heaped upon the youth in Zambia via their senseless policies and dispossession of Zambians in general. Poverty, destitution, hopelessness and unemployement are worst insults that the RB gang has placed upon all youth in Zambia. This insult is worse than calling RB “Stubborn old man” which ofcourse he is when one looks at how this regime has ignored the suffering young people in Zambia. Keep up the spirit for your rights Patrick. Do not listen to used bags like Kavindele.

  79. This youngman needs counselling on how to debate issues intelligently without using insulting language. His language is that of a frustrated person. Education is very important in one’s life particularly for those who aspire to lead this country. We refuse to be lead by an illiterate leadership. If Patrick is adopted to stand in kafulafuta he will be an MP and possibly a Minister. Is this the type of mediocre leadership this country needs in the 21st century ? Look at the profiles of leaders in developed countries – they are all educated ! why should we embrace illiterates like Patrick to lead this Nation ? He must go back to university and complete his education.

  80. STATE HOUSE MUST CONDUCT ITS BUSINESS IN A PROPER AND PRODUCTIVE MANNER KAVINDELE FORGETS DELIBERATELY TO COUNCIL THE STATE ON HOW THEY ARE MISUSING THE MEDIA THE BACK FALLS ON THE PRESIDENT RB WHO SEEMS TO ENJOY ALL THE NONSENSE BEING  WRITTEN IN DAILYMAIL,TIMES OF ZAMBIA AND ZNBC TO DISCREDIT POLITICAL OPPONENTS.THE KITWE MAYOR HAS BEEN MUD SLUNG BY MMD MALIJAN THAT HE BOUGHT FUEL FOR PATRICK MWANAWANSA FOR CAMPAIGNS ON THE COPPERBELT AND CONSEQUENTLY HIS OFFICIAL CAR GRABBED.RB MUST BE ABLE TO RULE THIS NATION IN A CERTAIN PROPER RESPECTFUL WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO YOUNG AND OLD ZAMBIANS..I DO AGREE WITH PATRICK HE MUST BE ABLE TO DEFEND HIS POLITICAL CAREER OTHERWISE THESE ELDERLY ONES ARE UP TO NO GOOD.RB MUST DIRECT GOVERNMENT MEDIA TO RESPECT ALL POLITICAL OPPONETS.

  81. Patrick is already down. He doesn’t need RB to bring him any lower than that. Chapter closed!

  82. Is telling someone they are stubborn being disrespectful? Its okay to tell somebody younger than you and not those older?

  83. Good afternoon

I also think Mr. Kavindele’s advice to Patrick is in place. Even if the young man has something to say about the president, taking the bull by the horns is not always the best method.

Even David was a young man but the Scripture tells us that he always behaved himself wisely before the people of Israel (Psalm 101:2, 1 Samuel 18:14.) That is why he was able to triumph over Goliath despite the challenges in age, size or physical strength.

  84. Mr.Kavindele why dont you advise your children leave patrick alone did RB respect pactrick when he allowed that chanda chimba to be insulting him on ZNBC.just sit and look for money for yor railway dont be turned into a lifwekelo

  85. Mr. Kavindele, calling someone older than you stubborn does not imply disrespect. You are disappointing us with your limited way of understanding of the english language

  86. Ya, baKavindele, you are the people that have held us back as a nation. Leave Patrick and the youths alone. This rubbish about respect/disrepect is what stops young people from criticizing the so-called elders.

  87. Zambia has gone gone to the dogs!!! Yes, in the Africa context Patrick is too young to call RB stubborn. Lets be realistic gentlemen. Lets not support just beacuse the small boy is the former president’s son. The small boy is just thriving on his father’s popularity. He was a nonentity just a few years ago. Personally, my view is that the boy should have concentrated on studying until at such a time when he can consider politics. Yes, he will win in Kafulafuta because people will vote on tribal lines and will be sympathetic of him. But we shall see how he is going to articulate issues in parliament. His father was a lawyer why not get the inspiration of his late father. People are just misleading the small boy. VERY S.T.U.P.I.D BOY. G.A.L.U wamwana!!!!!!!!!!! Tizakuona.

    • 28 years is not too young. Pipo like Richard kazala were made ministers by this same Patrick’s dad. Granted some of them didnt perform but history tells us that pipo like VJ Mwanga were in cabinet at much younger ages than 28 and were effective at their jobs. Leave Patrick alone

  88. Well to get respect, you have to earn it…do you honestly think RB has earned that office, take a look at his wife as a first lady the same age as Patrick, pay attention to how he treats his subordinates who jump ship, no gratitude nothing just insults. Well Mr. Kavindele your president has made his bed and let the buffoon sleep in it.
This is the reason why these old politicians will forever cling on to power because the see no life after politics in Zambia, sadly the show this mentally to young fledgling local entrepreneurs as well.

  89. If only Zambians had the same copy cat zeal they have in copying western culture, in developing the nation we would be living in a great nation.

  90. This old man banda told GBM a lot of nosense in kasama.(Kuchikhuvula monga nisaka ya unga chithakati). Are the they the same age.Think Kavindele. You are desperate for arail line permit.you think we dont know

  91. Pat has every right to say what he said. RB through his minows has been insulting almost everyone including Catholic Priests. Calling someone stubborn is not an insult. Kavindele be real. Hope u r not being clouded by the rail line. Dora will cancel it again.

  92. Well, it is a fair political comment and the same could have been said about his father who dragged the country stubbornly throufgh the National Constitution Commission and invented an illegal entity callede Task Force’ to selectively harangue plunderers. Stubbornness is part of leadership quality. One cannot be expected to follow the advice of every Tom, D ic k and Harry. There are 13 million opinions in Zambia and not all or even the majority are actually heard. Just because The Post parrots an idea, ity does not mean that all Zambians agree. So, Patrick, learn that the very Post newspaper that is building you up, will one day bring you down.

  93. Let us learn to adress the elderly with respect when they are wrong calling your father in our Zambian culture its an insult. In Zambia we are tought to call any of the age of your mother -mother of your father- father unless if you where brought up in a family were there is no culture, no respect full of insults then you find that insults, disrespecting adults and swearing is a normal thing in life.

  94. we are spoiling Patrick by encouraging him to proceed on the self destructive route he has taken. It is taboo to use strong language against the elderly no matter how agrieved you are, unless you are confused. Infact in this case the chap is supposed to be sorry for stealing from the public in kitwe for failing to put fuel in his car and hence using his friend the mayor to steal council fuel on his behalf. This has resulted in the mayor now walking when doing his political campains instead abusing the mayoral vehicle…and he is in big trouble because of him..the mayor might be jailed if prosecuted…abuse of public resources is wrong !!!

  95. Your TIME is gone leave the political game to the young ones. Stop intimidating young politicians with the age game. if you cant take the heat and feel its disrespectful being called “Stubborn” by a young man, then retire and spear yourself some dignity. Period!!!!!!!

  96. IWE KAVINDELE, NIKUJOBU (NIKUNCHINTO). SO LET THE YOUNG MAN EXPRESS HIS OPINION. AFTER ALL ” STUBBORN” TENSELE

  97. Kavindele you are just a chancer. we all know you have been rehabilitated by RB, you were on the verg of bankrupcy. Just mind your own bussiness and let the young realise their dreams

  98. This young fellow was offside in his comments. He is just being cajoled to appear disrespectiful by the purveyors of the message on the front page of their paper. They themselves respect noone, and so do all the people whose stories they carry. Show me anyone respectiful that is covered by the Post, then I will raise my hands in surrender. The young man has lost it, period.

  99. The most disppointing thing about this is, most people that think Patrick is doing the right thing are people that are outside Zambia. Let us learn to respect elders be it RB or MC. Remember God’s commandments ref #5.

  100. New politics in the world do not ever mention the following about an opponent

    (a) sex (b) age (c) Marital issues (d) Physical Attributes (e) Health (f) Race .

In this case, Pat Jnr has defined himself as a politician and so, he must be treated & treat others with respect if you use the above listed standard. Then to u, Sir Kavindele, If politicians avoid all this, we can then (finally) have the much desired ISSUE BASED DEBATES !!

  101. BA Kavindele Twapapata Let the young man express him self when did the word stubborn be come an insult kwana mwampapusha

  102. @107
Why is it disappointing that people against this are from abroad? You want to hear opinions from majority Zambians go to ZWD, Kavindele’s comments are ageist comments and he should respect Patrick as a Politician himself: the best advice ba Kvavindele should given the apprentice Politician Patrick is to attack RB on economic issues but that would be rich coming from him and the likes of MMD.

  103. kutumpafye, u cant be telling you Dad like that…….. his father will not be happy with this after all, he chose this same man who is stubborn.

  104. It looks like the young man s bitter, and he is being used somehow. To some extent, he wants to ride on sympathy for his late father, and and wants to use his father’s name to the full extent. Why can’t he behave like the NARED president, argue maturely politically because we can’t all think the same way. His approach to national issues can be questionable if he goes on at this rate. He is free to belong to any party he wishes, but he should be aware that he is still very raw politically and can be used easily by frustrated politicians to champion their cause. He better watch out. I was watching Chanda Chimba on tuesday, and i wonder whether Patrick was watching it too, where Sata (2004 ZNBC political archive) tore his father to shreds, and Masebo too had not been spared either.

  105. @ Ubwinga, it seems you have a short memory, ca you answer these questions:
    1. who made Mwanawasa resign as Vice President in the early 90’s
    2. what did Sata say about chiluba’s caes before levy died?
Sata and corruption are synonymous> It seems you are very young and you dont know the true colours of Sata(n), wish you well with Patrick, na ingila mukanwa ka nsoka

  106. At 18# Chacine atumpafye umwaiche uyu. Anyway, we should understand him. Abana ba muchani efyo baba.

  107. The word stubbon simply means that.patrick is just echoring the truth which many including u
mr kavindele knows about rb.How many issues has rb shown is stubborness? plenty.pliz leave the young man alone.

  108. Why is it always that a ass- kisser  (promoted from boot-licker) has to distort the whole story with some useless views about age and respect. It is not automatic that you become wiser as you get older,Kavi is just a spineless politician who can’t stand up to political bullies. He did let down the people when he formed a political party and gave flimsy explanation for disbanding. Politics need people like Patrick ,not yes men,who are only interested in filling their pockets.

  109. Kavindelel very dull man. I like patrick, never saw any insults in what he said. And RB stop marrying young girls also….you have no respect. Your time is up.

  110. Kavi is right , we just have to respect a president . that is the highest office
evev when sata wins , people would have to respect him . we need development
instead of attacking each other ,

  111. Do to others what you would like them to do to you. That’s the Golden Rule just in case Mr Kavindele doesn’t know it.

  112. i never knew old men too can sometimes loose brains just because they were offered some kind of fevers.what a shame you see

  113. If Patrick has to respect elders, though I never saw any disrespect in what he said, Elders should also stop undressing before young girls fi to be there daughters

  114. We shall make sure we “rig” the boy at the polls. He will be taught a long lasting lesson like now bitter Mbita Chitala.

  115. Political arena knows no age. That’s what it means to be in public service. The relationship between an adult in a normal community is totally different to the one Patrick and Rupiah find themselves in. Here that stops to exist. Mr Kavindele don’t choose to pretend to be ignorant in the game you are well vested with. You well know that Patrick would behave differently in another scenario. They are playing politics  and that’s the name of the game. In politics there is no adult. Everyone walks all over everyone. If Rupiah does not have a thick skin advise him to stop and go back to the farm to be respected. That’s how you create dictators, you did it in UNIP and you want to do it again in MMD (UNIP phase 2). MMD has been invaded by UNIP and it’s crumbling.

  116. #1  that was S.TU.P.I.D logic.  Patrick does have a right to say whatever he wants to say;  But not in that tone.  Don’t forget that african politics are nasty.  The young man would be well advised to keep his language clean.  He might even gain more support that way.

  117. Welcome new recruit Patuliki, of the PF academy of insults, inconsistency and Kaponya behavior. Im sure very soon the young man will rise in the PF ranks because he has what it takes to be a PF member. You can’t be civil in your language an expect to be accepted in PF. Way to go mwaiche, you will stay longer in your ka dunderhead party. This can be proved from the language being used by your colleagues on blogg.

  118. Kavindele should know that if the president has no advisers,he wil always be advised by the opposition and ofcouse with a strong language,so ba kavindele advise the president’s advisers.

  119. Dear Patrick Mwanawaza,

You are definetly offside. If you didint know, president Satas Children are very well behaved. They can not say the words you said to an Elderly person. To tell you the truth, President Sata is also not happy to hear those so called insults being hurled at elders.

So young man be careful. Just because your father was president does not make you King.

Do not be used, remember RB has children much much order than you. And you dont hear them insulting pipo any how.

    VIVA RB

  120. If u want to be respected, first respect elders and your fellow friends or anyone as long as is a humanbin.

  121. If u want to be respected, first respect eldely people and your fellow friends or anyone as long as is a humanbin.:
