Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president Musa Mwenye has described as unfortunate that the ruling MMD has decided to sway away from important issues of national interest.

Mr. Mwenye says this is evidenced by attacks targeted at him by MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya.

He says instead of focusing on more important issues other than name calling, Ms Siliya chose to attack him.

He wonders why Ms. Siliya, during a live presentation of the assignment program on Muvi television on Sunday evening, could not tackle real issues that were brought up.

Mr. Mwenye notes that during the deliberation, Ms. Siliya should have stated whether the Zambia National Broadcasting Cooperation (ZNBC) is breaching the ZNBC Act no 154 of the laws of Zambia or not.

And Mr. Mwenye says he is not surprised with the allegations leveled against him because he is not the first LAZ president to be attacked.

In a telephone interview with QFM, Mr. Mwenye says the association will not give credence to the ongoing misguided debate based on character assassination.

Mr. Mwenye states that he is not a sympathizer of any political party noting that even if one member of LAZ was a political party sympathizer, the association acts through its fifteen elected councilors who make collective decisions.

Meanwhile, political analyst Dante Saunders says the MMD is being childish in the way it is receiving advice from the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) on the operations of the Zambia National Broadcasting Cooperation (ZNBC).

Mr. Saunders says the MMD should just accept that the ZNBC Act number 154 of the laws of Zambia is being breached instead of attacking LAZ which he said is in order to raise such issues.

  1. LAZ never explained how ZNBC Act is being breached. They merely made an accusation and reproduced the Act. So why would someone just accept the ZNBC Act is being breach?

  2. Musa Mwenya is a certified cadre of the Poor Finishers’ Party ranting from Sata’s hand delivered partisan scripts. There is neither objective legal opinion nor intellectual though he vents out in his toil of the PF line. This is why there is no way he will sanitize himself from his not Kubeba insignia. He must be kicked out of LAZ to serve his masters better. Zambians and MMD are alive to the fact that he is a senseless cadre and they are willing to take him head on in the political arena.

    • Senior Citizen, stop hating, Mwenye is doing his job well. You yourself are an MMD cadre, why should your opinion matter above that of the learned man. You and me are cowards who cant even put our names here. Mwenye is brave and you must give him credit for being level headed.

  3. LAZ ignore Dora she is always drunk how do you expect her to talk sense. All thinks of is beer and sex, rotten woman

  4. What do you expect from these movement of mad dogs (MMD)?
They are all dull including there chitumbuwa rubbush bin (RB), they know for sure & the other day one of there members said. But becoz they re dull he still failed to differentiate between Post newpaper & ZNBC, in defence said if the post is always against RB why cant he also use ZNBC wich is at hes disposal.
Same with f.oolish coward Shikapwanya, forget post newspaper has it’s own constitution it been a private media & are there for business unlike ZNBC who them it’s to save us the tax payers coz every working citizen contributes to there rubbish they are giving us.

  5. # 1 – Biased reporting, unbalanced news, failure to verify the trueth before air a programm or news & the Chanda Chimbwi III news.

  6. LAZ go on you have our support! ZNBC does not belong to Dora,Ronnie or RB it’s a people’s institution whether PF,MMD,UPND,NAREP,ADD and so on so if it only covers MMD then it’s being abused. What’s happening to the K3000 we’re paying every month as levy..Let’s be serious Zambians !

  7. In all his rants there is neither objective legal opinion nor intellectual thought he irrationally vents out. Its nothing but a toil his PF party line. This chap has been an obsecced cadre from time in memorial. The act he pasted in the public and private media does not take away from those public media houses the decision making on what is news or not.

  8. laz when are you taking this matter to court? We need a neutral arbiter if they still exist in the courts.

  9. Senior Citizen today your rantings are meaningless. Take the ZNBC Act, have a read and look at the programmes being aired, then come back and tell us if the issue is the LAZ President’s affiliation in question here. You are now behaving like Sata who cant answer a straight forward question without waffling and bringing in immaterial things. THat is why you politicians and cadres SUCK, you fail to be logical even in simplest of matters. The issue of the private media is not covered under the ZNBC Act and the biasness of the Post needs to be addressed separately. Dont mix oragnes and lemons just because they are all citrus fruits. Count them in different buckets unless you are asked to identify them by a common denominator

  10. senior citizen you are useless..you cant look at real isues you bustard? are u a real senoir citizen..znbc is for all of us..its not for Rupiah only!

  11. Like all PF cadres, Mwenya thinks just because he is a certified cadre, he could have the reign of circumventing the Public media Act in his quest of dictating to them so that they start feeding the public his PF satanic scripts of homosexuality, Tujili jili, Violence, tribalism, seccessionism, mujahadine terror enlistment of all PF kaponyas for deployment to Afghanistan.

  12. This PF cadre should expedient his litigation against ZNBC in the the Zambian Independent Courts of Justice gladly awaiting him with both hands. Talk is cheap let all PF kaponyas here donate funds and institute a litigation filed by their fellow cadre Musa Mwenya. Prepare for the verdict and stomach it. Nowhere does the ZNBC ACT dictate that the decision of news worth material shall be to the discretion of certified cadres just because they have rubbish. I have both hardcopies of the ZNBC ACT as Pasted in the media by the same PF cadre Mwenya and response by a profession public servant and ZNBC Legal Counsel.

  13. All you Kaponyas please tell your fellow cadre Mwenya to expedite this PF litigation against ZNBC and Zambians in the the Zambian Independent Courts of Justice certainly gladly awaiting PF to commence the process at the earliest.

    • Senior Citizen, are you sure you don’t see anything wrong in the manner mmd is abusing znbc? If you don’t, I have very serious doubts about your facaulties. We are forced to pay TV levy and we expect znbc to give us a well balanced view of the political events in the country. Take a simple survey and see how many people are pissed off with the happenings at znbc.

  14. VERY UZILES BLOGGERS. Do you mean to tell me that the K3,000 the we are paying is for just a few individuals? Who watches znbc anyway?

  15. # 12HH & #13 Senior Citizen am very disappointed with your blogging.Worse still insulting(#12),let those vwith decent views contribute than showing yr foolishness on this site.I think you need devine healing and serious prayers.

  16. Musa Mwenya dont worry those are last kicks of a dying horse. They days at dribbling are nearing end. Dora should not forget that some who were ministers before her are still appearing in courts of law for their misdeeds and are being defended by LAZ members she is insulting today. She will sooner than later need LAZ members.

  17. # 17,
Throughout my activism from time in memorial, you will never find me insulting regardless of how much insults i get from intellectually challenged PF Kaponyas on issues. I therefore challenge you to make an excerpt of insults from my posts here or anywhere. Take me on with intellectual and legal facts on the ZNBC Act your fellow PF cadre is hyperbolic about. Doesn’t the discretion of news choice rest with ZNBC? What legal abrogation has been committed in choice of news worthy content in the rational acts of ZNBC? Does being a public institution service means provider mean shoving even outlawed rubbish from the kitchen sink on the people against their will? Tell us here what sensible news worth material content from PF has ZNBC overlooked?

    • ZNBC yes has to exercise the discretion of what is newsworthy REASONABLY, senior Citizen. The issue LAZ has brought out is that this discretion is being used in a biased way and in the longrun disadvantaging opposition political parties. You are intelligent enough to see this Senior citizen but your political affiliation has clouded both your conscience and grey matter to a point where anyone giving constructive criticism to the MMD and Govt is a PF sympathiser. The MMD has this election in their favour, but as long as they continue blatant disregard of people’s humanity and basic needs of access to information and etc etc, they will lose intellectual votes like mine. Be forewarned.

  18. Your Sata is on ZNBC every Thursday for an hour through the SUFZ espousing his natural flippancy. If ZNBC was not bringing out his character, face, rhetoric and hatred you would be complaining that your demi-god is not being shown on ZNBC. The Public media has gone to the extent of offering full free coverage of PF none voting but endorsement convention at Mulungushi. They were barred saying PF does not need ZNBC ever in their political parody. So what are you crying about?

  19. Sata himself has been saying the public media and SUFZ have been making him the most popular opportunist. He has even misdirected his gratitude to H.E President Banda who has nothing to do with such small things the independent public media is rationally managing. On the same issue all you kaponyas from time in memorial have been saying the public media has neither an audience or impact and every coverage is only making your demi-god Sata popular. But what is this cry baby cry hot air now characterized with frivolous legal suits every day your boss Sata is making on all Zambians and public institutions?

  20. Iam a taxpayer and have no objection in the manner ZNBC is operating. They have been working like this from the days of KK,Chiluba and Levy. So all you PF kaponya’s (most dont even pay 3000 anyway) shut up!

  21. #22 you’re a dreamer.
Znbc has never been this bad and it will never be this bad. You’re one in a million who is happy with the way their tax is being used. Lousy znbc

  22. GOLDEN WORDS
“The world suffers alot. Not because of the violence of bad people; But because of the silence of good people!”

  23. LAZ you are wasting your time in arguing with MMD over ZNBC.Just go to court so that the issue can be resolved once and for all

  24. ZNBC yes has to exercise the discretion of what is newsworthy REASONABLY, senior Citizen.

  25. Let us for once accept good and well intentioned advice like the one coming from LAZ president Musa Mwenye. The issue here is not which political party he supports. What is saying is true about state controlled print and electronic media. Why should the Tax payer be subjected to only news about RB,chiefs endorsing RB,Kalonde, lungu,Lifwekelo and only those that worship RB.Are we being told that the opposition cannot provide anything worth reading about? Why should we plug our ears to truth and only listen to messages of hatred from Chanda Chiimba and insults from Dora Siliya.?Very soon people will have to do a lot of explaining.

  26. It is MMD govt policy not to take responsibility and correct the wrongs. This is how devious and disconcerting they have always been.
Zambians are not naive but are alive to the abuse of the happenings and their tv levy.
To refuse that the ZNBC Act is not being flouted, is indistinguishable to spitting right in the faces of the Zambian people.
We need a govt that respects and observes the laws and sets standards for the rest to follow. These values are lacking in MMD, one of the many reasons why MMD must GO!

  27. #20.I think your domain name should be changed.I have trouble thinking how a senior citizen with such big words would write a lot of rubbish without facts.I wonder how senior you are with such meaning less contributions.I think a 3 month old baby is more wise than you because that child would not utter or expose such foolishness that you are exhibiting.Read the ZNBC act.understand what it says about fair coverage and then lets see how much you’ll expose your empty can of a mind. Its people like you ba kandile who are not worth the air that you breath. The Hour Has Come For MMD to go.Don’t kubeba!!

  28. Ben i think you are too much of a toddler to remember that Chiluba used to run adverts on ZNBC in 1990-1991 when UNIP was in power. Those obnoxious views are not facts my friend.Dream on and we are not kaponyas. We are also tax payers just like you.Don’t kebeba.Muleyafye uno mwaka

  29. MCS, Mulongoti both used ZNBC to disadvantage opposition political parties. Today they are just feeling how it tastes to be outside the ring. ‘Wanya Njala ikunyokole’

  30. Musa should not waste time with MMD blockheads. RB is like a fart: easy come, easy go. Gone with the wind by December. LAZ must start preparing its members for a windfall in corruption and theft cases. More money in Lawyers’ pockets within 90 days of PF taking over government.

  31. I hope ba Katele hasn’t been promised something for him to talk about Don’t kubeba today. We all know when they come to offer you money to entice you to vote for them, get the money but Don’t kubeba ati tawakabavotele. You are NOT the one doing wrong because didn’t solicit for anything so don’t kubeba!!!

  32. Mr Mwenye u are very rite.i equaly as well was very disappointed with that Dora on that programme she failed lamentably to answer any of the questions raised by costa the Interviewer.wat a calibe of spokesperson MMD have full of emptyness all that she knows is to insult people. She is just a pony who RB is using to say all the rubbish she can to attack those with informed criticizem.Who amoungst here and out there, doesnt that ZNBC is our National Brodcaster? that is y we are all paying k3000 to help it run.Everyone is free to comment about is operations, i mean everyone including Mwenye, myself and you senior citizen. let us debate constructively and not always talk like empty Dora.

  33. sometimes i wonder where we are going. that is why education standards have gone because of such people like dora. mwenya is very correct on her interview she avoided many issues raised then she thinks she is a master what a shame to have her as education minister

  34. With people like Siliya, Ronnie shikapwasha, Kavindele and MMD claims to have quality leaders! What a joke, these bozo’s have no brains to think through important issues affecting the nation.

  35. Ka Nullity Dora, just because she used to read news at ZNBC she thinks its her own institution, alah! She should just concentrate on hiring lawyers to defend her in her future case of selling ZAMTEL illegally or else she will end up in the “sikapani sa myoko”. You bet it’s not Musa Mwenye she is infecting with AIDS next time she has her regular unprotected conjugal escapade!

  36. Why dont you dodo address the issues that Musa raises instead of ranting. ZNBC is currently running without a board. That is not good governance and is against the Act. ZNBC, which is funded by taxpayers does not give equal airing to opposition parties and reports in a biased manner.
Typical of cadres, you defend RB and the circus he surrounds himself with even though you do not benefit in any real way. I dont believe Sata is presidential material, but unless the other parties pull their fingers out and present credible candidates, Sata will probably win.

  37. Senior Citizen should be the One and Only Chanda Chimba III. Fellow bloggers, this lunatic is as good as Breivik. For these characters, the other side does not matter. I am very sure he can even massacre the KAPONYAS.

  38. Senior Citizen is very right about the Poor Finishers. Why do they want ZNBC coverage when they have said DONCHI KUBEBA?ZNBC is just saving costs by not going to mongrels who dont have anything constructive to say.

  39. I lied how can l pay tax from peeling potatoes at McDonalds and l have a small ( willy)
Aka.k.ala, it’s so smalll my wife is being, serviced a Bemba monkey, So I have a complex
and talk from my arse, I am a tonga and hate bembas with big pipes

  40. Good job Mr. Mwenye, ZNBC is operating as if we are in a one party state. It reminds me of how the then Zambia broadcasting services failed to cover live the swearing in ceremony of the then incoming president FJT Chiluba in 1991. And those of us who were there know what happened to Mr. Stev Moyo a few weeks later! And mind you Zambians have voiced concerns on news coverage bcoz what is happening is not healthy for the growth of our democracy.

  41. Ben, Not all Bembas have big pipes iwe, why else would Vera have left FTJ to get serviced by MacTribouy? It was ubukala the Kaboke was hiding which did not measure up to standard in terms of length and Breadth. As for my cousins Tongas, of course they have pencil ones and that is why Tshala Mwana dumped VJ who was wasting her time by “swimming” making her feel like she had a bucket one when she is as tight as a “ka naluleya”.

  42. Ok l am Tonga, I am tribalist, and believe only HH should become president…So Kaponyas what are you gonna do about it ?
Proud tribalist only Tongas should marry tonga women, do not mix our blood with Bemba thieves. I see many of our beautiful educated tonga women being taken by bembas and other tribes, who turn our girls into common hoes,
Look at that GBM can such a lump of fat have a willy and are those his children? That y he beats his Bemba hoe everyday

  43. Senior citizen is not just ranting nonsense, he sounds like a serious psycho! Most Zambians quit watching ZNBC news and have substituted it with MUVI TV. I am a family man, I work and I am also a business person and in all the environments above my experience is that no one is keen to switch ZNBC news. This is simply because, it has lost credibility in terms of news worthy and content. ZNBC has never been this bad! Seriously, I still have my recorded first MMD campaign message about potholes on Zambian roads. We need the government to start listening when the citizens lobby reputable organisations like LAZ to speak on our behalf! VIVA CHANGE!

  44. A person like the laz president knows though him self is brave, that these lesser brains working for znbc ,fear for their jobs thus report whta lupiya want, now mwenya should find a way of protecting their possitions in znbc or his calls for balanced reporting is against the wind.

  45. If Musa Mwenye is so concerned about the general welfare of Zambians, particularly the moral roles of the media, why did he keep quiet when the Post insulted RB’s marital status. The Post even used electronic trickery to publish deceptive photos that depicted RB in Livingstone. It is a long story. We know that Mweemba, Lungu and Mwenye penetrated the LAZ structure in order to use this legal body to achieve their respective goals. Musa exhibited his political inclination from the days of Levy’s Presidency operating as a mere member of LAZ. His ascendance to LAZ Chief has actually precipitated his true colours. Lawyers must project the truth, not propagate falsehoods. But Mwenye’spolitical activities will determine the fate of his Law firm He will reap what he sows.

  46. what does the Attorney General (who incidently is senior and suprior to LAZ President) have to say on this issue?

  47. I am not sure that I would want lawyers like Musa Mwenye and Winter Kabimba to represent me in a court of law, or even to draft a legal agreement for me. No further comment.
